It was definitely love at first bite. I got the combo which included the lobsters, shrimp and crabs. It also came with chips and a drink all for $ 38! The lobster roll was my favorite because the bread was toasted just right and the butter just melted in your mouth! So good!

I actually like Luke’s and have been to a couple of other locations but this one didn’t do it for me. I tried the clam chowder for the first time, and while it was creamy and had a good balance of potato and clams in it, I also had quite a bit of sand in my clams. I had a lobster roll as well which was amply stuffed into a toasted hot dog roll — but the roll could have toasted hours ago — it was cold, like the lobster within. On the plus side, they keep the prices the same as their other locations which was somewhat surprising given the location. Still I’ll pass on visiting this location again.

TLDR: — Roll filled with light, buttery lobster. Nice and simple, no BS.

Tucked underneath the Plaza Hotel is an upscale food court. The center court is this gem of a casual place which has the real deal lobstah rolls. Thick, fresh, meaty with no mayo, style served on the traditional buttered bread. Authentic as you get as if you are roadside in Maine. The lobster is so fresh and filling and seasoned perfectly with the old bay. You don’t need to overwork it if you have a quality lobster meat and this is the place to get it. It’s a perfect lunch with some Cape Cod chips and the soup of the day.

Yum! Had a craving for a lobster roll, so I ventured out in the snow to the Plaza. I got the taste of Maine and it was delicious! The roll I was least excited about –the shrimp — was probably the best seasoned of the three. Crab roll was tasty. The meat on the lobster roll was fresh but oddly a little bland. Maybe it’s because I saved that one for last. Regardless, this place was great and I look forward to coming back. The blueberry lemonade was pretty good, too.

We had amazing lobster rolls for the first time here, in Luke’s! It’s licated on the food hall of the Plaza Hotel. There are tons of food stores but a few seats so a bit hardly yo find the seets. We had 2 combos that you can taste three types of rolls in a half size. They all tasted so good!

A little hard to find but definitely worth it. Got the Noah’s ark for two and it was perfect. Lobster was the best followed by crab and then shrimp. Nice staff. Busy but we got our food quickly. Tasted great! Hope we can come back again.

My boyfriend and I found this through Unilocal while looking for lobster spots near Grand Central. Thanks, Unilocal… you nailed it! This restaurant has the best-priced lobster roll that we could find during a recent trip to New York! And executed well, to boot. My boyfriend had the lobster roll meal. He loved his lobster(but said it could use a little more butter) and the vinegar-based cole slaw. I had to refrain from stealing all of his cole slaw… it was so bright and delicious! I had the shrimp roll, which was seasoned with awesome spices(I wish I had asked what it was) and featured lots and lots of baby shrimp. The ambiance is very casual, and is reminiscent of a seaside sandwich shop. It offered a quiet break from the chaos of the surrounding area. Again, the price was nice. Dinner for 2 set us back less than $ 30. Not bad!

Solid roll. I chose the lobster because I am a psycho for them. Nice sized roll with chunks of lobster. There was no mayo sauce to weigh it down either. Possibly my only complaint was the dusting of old bay on top. Overall, a great find and reasonably priced. Wish that they had their own seating…

I can’t believe there’s this kind of deal in New York, and certainly not in the basement of the old Plaza Hotel. To get here, you can go into the main door and make a left and follow the hallway until the Dining Hall area, which is just down a flight of stairs. Here you will find a food court with many options. The Luke’s set-up is toward the right near the center of the options. I recommend the Taste of Maine if you’re alone, and Noah’s Ark if you’re two people because you get to try three different types of rolls and comes with bags of chips, two drinks, and pickles. The rolls were excellent! The crab and lobster were my favorite, although the shrimp was also quite good. It’s effectively $ 20 per person for this much seafood. They don’t combine the seafood with fillers. You literally get the rolls stuffed with fresh seafood. Very impressed.

Luke’s lobster had both physical stores and food truck moving around the city. They just seldomly came to my place… Fortunately I got to try their crab roll and it was simply amazing to the least. Meat was juicy and marinated well with butter. Better part is that there is only 380 calories in all three rolls(crab, lobster or shrimp). You could always make up the combo(by adding New England clam chowder, drink or chips). Line was not long at all given we came in at an earlier time. Will for sure go for their signature lobster roll next time jumping in!

Lobster is notoriously expensive. It doesn’t matter if you go to the Luke’s food truck or the stall in the Plaza Food Court – it’s all the same price. I love Luke’s lobster rolls and like any lobster lover my only complaint is the quantity of meat in the expensive sandwiches. However, everything about these lobster rolls are good – from the buns and the buttery sauce to delicate and delicious lobster. FOOD: We were hungry, and edging on Hangry – and while I’d normally not opt for something that has four locations within a subway ride of my apartment – I needed food ASAP. We opted for the Taste of Maine. On the website you’ll see that this usually comes with two crab claws(at another location, perhaps?). No such luck at The Plaza. The crab roll, to my surprise was my favorite of the bunch. Nathan enjoyed the shrimp roll and had never had a lobster roll! He loved it, and you will too. Needless to say, we ended up seeking more food after our peasant’s seafood feast.

OMG … I don’t know where to start !!! BREADGATE!!! I was visiting a colleague for lunch & she suggested we go to the Plaza. It was beaaaautiful! There’s several shops & food places. We walked around trying to scout a place to eat. I’ve never had an «authentic«lobster roll so she had I HAD to try Luke’s ! I was so excited waiting in line … Then someone walks around & mentions they’re out of bread ! What ??? Not«we’re out of lobster ». But bread of all things ! I’m like hmmm go get bread from the sub place haha I know it’s not the same . We were willing to wait. There was a guy behind us from NC who was just as eager to try ! We waited for about 30 – 40 mins. The staff gave us a free lobster roll card. They also gave us drinks & drinks on the house for the wait . When the bread came we all clapped & cheered ! I can def say it was worth the wait. We also ordered a shrimp roll to share. I can’t get over house delicious everything was. The seafood was fresh. best of all was that it wasn’t a lobster salad labeled as a roll. Even down to the Maine blueberry lemonade. I’m currently trying to convince my best friend to pack one in her purse on the next visit home lololol.

Gota love east coast seafood! We got the Noah’s Arch. It was very tasty. Could have been a bit bigger. But keeps you from over eating. They advertise their coleslaw but it was just ok. Pretty bland. Good selection of sodas and beers. We’ll come back, maybe this trip.

Lobster roll at this place easily makes my top ten food list! It’s was so deliciously I almost orgasmed!!! Do whatever it takes to try this sandwich when you are New York… It is 16 $ per sandwich. Which is a little overpriced just for a roll but it is more than worth it. Will go back to try the crab sandwich soon and write about!

Holy chunks of lobster! After shopping through the plaza hotel for an insane amount of dessert, we decided we needed some substance. And that’s when we came across Luke’s lobster! Sure, it’s pricey– but oh so worth it! We got the lobster roll– and man, it was so fresh and so worth it. The bun is buttery, and just fresh chunks of lobster stick out of it– it wasn’t some skimpy mayo laden lobster roll– this was fresh lobster– probably most of a lobster, stuffed into a bun. And it was heavenly-fresh and tasty. It’s well worth the money and I highly recommend Luke’s lobster-your stomach will be thanking you later.

Great place for a quick lobster roll fix. Located in the food court below the Plaza Hotel, it is convenient if you need a quick meal. Menu options are lobster, shrimp or crab roll and clam chowder. Can get several combo mixes. Lobster is the best. Lobster roll is priced reasonably at $ 16. Add a drink & chips for $ 3.00. I heard about Blueberry hand pies but they were sold out. This is a food hall. Seating is scattered around in several places. You can get chocolates, yogurt or pastry desserts from other vendors.

Luke, I wish you would come to the west coast, or specifically Seattle cause I miss this already!!! I highly recommend their lobster roll $ 15, which yes is pricey, but at this particular location under the Plaza Hotel they really loaded up the lobster. It was delicious! A nice toasty, buttered slice of toast with little mayo, then tons and tons of sweet, juicy, and fresh lobster on top. The lobster isn’t even a «lobster cake» or «lobster salad», it’s pure chunks of lobster tail and claw. YUM! It comes with a pickle too, btws. But ohmygoodness, the lobster was so sweet. I cannot get that here on the west coast. I went twice in the week that I was in New York and I wish I had gone a third time! I highly recommend this for seafood and shellfish lovers! :)

Luke, you had me at lobster roll. If you know me at all, you know that I’m a fan of lobster rolls and if I’m in a new city, I will seek until I find the best lobster roll. Fortunately for me, I did not have to look far in NYC — my fellow Unilocalers led me to Luke’s. I chose the location closest to my hotel, which happened to be the cute little food court at the Plaza Hotel. I found and happily ordered my lobster roll with a cup of clam chowder and a side of chips. Delish, delish, delish. Nom, nom, nom. Fresh delicious lobster and good portion size as far as lobster rolls go(I’ve had ones that were smaller at twice the price). The clam chowder was great too. If I had one minor critique, it would be that the roll is a bit dry, it needs a little warm, melted butter on top or the bread needs to be buttered — just needs a tiny bit of grease. But other than that, it’s phenomenal. I will still take a dry lobster roll. As long as there’s lobster in there, I’m pretty much set :) Friendly service. I will be back again and again. And I suggest you go there too.
