I stopped by here Saturday after a relatively heavy night of drinking and I must say… this was pretty disappointing even while having drunchies! I got the chili cheese dog with cajun-seasoned fries. The hot dog was just ok, but kind of on the bland side. The fries, however, were so incredibly salty, that I was dying of dehydration after and was forced to buy a bottle of water to wash down the saltiness. The Lucky sauce was interesting though — I liked it!

I live right around the corner and hadn’t gotten around to checking the place out — but we were in the mood for something quick and filling. First impressions of the place in side, not very clean. It just didn’t really smell that great and a lot of the chairs and counters didn’t look clean. In regards to the food. The veggie burger was actually really delicious. It took quite a while and there were only 5 other people in the whole place. The Lucky Sauce is like a spicy In-N-Out sauce — essentially a hot russian waiting to be slathered on everything. The sweet potato fries were good, the crinkle were decent but they were both a little pricey for the quality. All around great for a $ 6 veggie burger, just wasn’t blown away by the rest of the experience. It just needs a little sprucing up, some TLC and i’d come back more often.

This is such a shame. Lucky’s used to have Boylans on tap. I gather that the one in Chelsea still does. But this one on Houston is now offering a stupid, ordinary Coke machine. With all the obnoxious Coke branding everywhere. Boo. And that’s just one example of a place that is generally not as good as it used to be, which used to be very very good. Another small but telling example: there used to be a pump where you could have as much special sauce, chipotle mayo and ketchup as you like. No those sauces come in these gross squeeze bottles that everyone has handled with their oniony hands. Nowhere near as attractive. The food is still excellent, if somewhat slow. I don’t hold slow food against a fast food place, because that generally means they’re actually cooking it for you instead of preparing it or preparing at 90% and then just reheating it. Still, I’ve got to keep a close eye on Lucky’s because without vigilant customers this place is clearly headed in the wrong direction.

Decent cheddar burger. The fries were fantastic – perfectly crispy. The Chipotle mayo and special sauce were also great and the assortment of soda is a nice feature. The price is about right, maybe a tad expensive. Very friendly service. The woman working behind he register brought the food out to customers(it wasn’t very crowded when I went, I don’t know if she would’ve done it otherwise). Not a fan of the music which was mostly in the realm of dashboard confessional.

Came here tonight and these guys were complete jerks. We waited for 10 mins until they told us that the store was closed. It was 11:45 pm I checked the website and they close at midnight.

There is no shortage of cheap and good burgers in NYC, so should you decide to make Lucky’s a stop, make sure it involves no more than three or four stops on the subway. Ideally Lucky’s is a fine burger for late night noshing, or for lunch on the go. When held up against the vast and formidable NYC burger landscape, it seems somewhat paltry but with a $ 6 price tag and a burger sauce that can be described as addictive — you get what you pay for at Lucky’s, and under the aforementioned conditions, you will be getting back there often. Stopped here after enjoying a night on the town in les. We stopped in after a few drinks and were looking or some satisfying snacks. We decided that the fries would be perfect. We ordered the seasoned fries which were exactly what we needed. They were cooked fresh to order, hot, crispy and perfectly seasoned. You also need to try the special house sauce they have in these large bottles. This sweet creamy concoction can she shameless used to drench fries, burger, fingers, chicken, or whatever is available. 10⁄10 would purchase of if they sold it. This is a place to check out after a night out before you start your cleanse.

In my week with my friend in NY, I went here twice. Once in the afternoon and once late night. It’s not fine dining, but if you’re craving a burger and fries/sweet potato fries/onion rings with creamy sauce… this place hits the spot! The burger was hot and juicy, the onion rings were crispy, and the sweet potato fries were bomb. They have options other than beef burgers, but who wants to eat healthy late night?

This place was filthy. The floors, the counters, tables, everything. Our food took a while to arrive. My order was incorrect, missing 2 ingredients and adding 1 wrong one. The fries and burger had a freezer burn taste. I feel like I’ll probably barf tonight. Awful.

I’ve only ordered Lucky’s on Grubhub, but the last time we ordered was a disaster. I think the other reviewers are right about the food– it’s pretty cheap, not great quality, etc. I’m generally fine with that because it’s cheap and filling, and sometimes you just feel like eating gross diner food for a night(don’t judge me!) Anyway, one of our items was missing from our last order, so I called and asked about it. They said they’d send it with the next guy going to our area. An hour later, nothing, so I call again. They apologize, it’s a busy night, they say it’s going out right now. An hour later? Still nothing, and at this point the guy on the phone offers me a free item with my next order. Dude, I don’t think there’s going to be a next order! I asked for a refund(just the $ 7), he says okay. Whadda know, five days later and my account hasn’t been credited. It’s not a lot of money, but there are plenty of other diners that won’t waste my time, so I’m saying goodbye to Lucky’s.

The fact that after a boozy night on Ludlow you can stumble in here and get food until 5am is pretty sweet. The guy taking orders was super nice and didnt seem phased by the room full of drunk college students screaming at people to close the door. Seriously, this guy deserves a medal for being so pleasant. A burger is around $ 6 then they charge for extras. If you want a meal its around $ 11. Location: A staff: A Food: B *btw try the chipotle mayo

Decent at best. Don’t expect this place to be gourmet. Pros– open late and offer combos for around 13 $. The guy at the counter with glasses seems to be on duty every time I order and he’s very polite. Note: He may be becoming an unrestricted free agent if the rumors are true about mamas empanadas taking over the space. Plenty of seats and TVs. Cons– disorganized, food is inconsistent and alittle pricey. Onion rings are SUPERBREADED and this is coming from someone that loves fried food. but damn Overall: Good for a late night bite and large groups

This place is okay… It’s not a bad spot to grab a burger if you’re in the neighborhood. I’ve had one too many instances where I’ve turned out with an awfully pink burger(or like, one half will be cooked and the other won’t) so I’ve started placing a bit of caution coming in here. I’m obsessed with the cheese fries at other Lucky’s locations but they seem to taste a little strange here – can’t put my finger on it. There’s pretty ample seating as the place never really gets too packed, and the prices are a smidge on the high side for what you’re getting, but nothing that will blow you out of the water.

I came here with friends to grab a quick turkey burger. My burger along with sweet potato fries were good, they have a spicy mayo dressing which went very well with the burger and the fries.(The downside is they messed up on my friend’s burgers, forgot their orders do they ended up waiting 20+ minutes for food. The management did not offer them any discounts or sincere apology for the mess up. When you mess up, customer service expectation should be met and a discount would’ve been applied or comped food! The workers at front seems miserable and don’t like their jobs! Good turkey burgers ., a bit pricey and long wait for food so defeats the purpose of fast food!

Came in here for a quick bite to eat after having a few drinks at the bar next door. Nothing to write home to about, but it definitely wasn’t a bad burger either. +1 star for having chipotle mayo on demand.

I mean, if you LOVE going to McDonalds when you are drunk, this is definitely awesome bro. You gotta try it. Otherwise, pass. These burgers are too mediocre. If burgers are not your thing, and you are intrigued by their chicken sandwich — pass. Their Luckys famous chicken sandwich with avocados thrown(+$ 2.25 was $ 11; Yes, it took a long time. It was not crowded nor was there care put into it – Just because. The buns were cold as fuck and the bacon was hard jerky. The chicken was pounded flat so had no real flavor. There was a hair in mine but thats besides the point now. Pass forever. Why is this famous?

If you are running late for your Midnight movie at Sunshine, haven’t eaten dinner yet, missed your opportunity to get Indian food because someone got way too caught up in playing beer pong, and there really just isn’t enough time to run to get empanadas.. .. this might be your last saving grace of an alternative for food before a show. What a scenario! The bad qualities: It took forever for them to make a cheese dog. Not really sure why but our hamburgers came out first before the hotdog. Also, everything is a little way too ridiculously priced for fast food burgers. I get that they are trying to be California and gourmet. They even have a sauce that resembles«animal style» sauce but that’s just chipotle mayo or ketchup and mayo. Regardless, when my food came, I inhaled my meal. The number 1 because I couldn’t read at this point: Lucky Cheddar Burger Original Style(which means onion, lettuce, pickle, tomato, ketchup & mustard) and asked for chipotle mayo sauce to just be slathered on. Not sure what their famous Lucky’s sauce is but there’s only one way to find out! The burger in itself was pretty good. But nothing extraordinary. I liked how moist it was but at the same time nothing different i’d find at Shake Shack or possibly In N’ Out. Which I imagine is better, but I’ve never had it before. The style is just very similar. My friend’s boyfriend got a Number 1 done Buffalo Style: Buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomato, shredded carrots, and bleu cheese. Interesting combination. I think he really liked it. And Steph had a Lucky Cheese dog without the chili. Which took freaking forever to cook. But with all of the combos we had what you never find in most restaurants or fast food establishments — crinkle cut fries. I find those rather elusive and almost the perfect French fry for dipping in ketchup and various sauces. Another bonus to the place is the amount of soda fountain drinks they have to offer. Various Joes Tea’s and Lemonades, including both Peach and Raspberry, Black Tea. A slew of Boylan’s Sodas: Both regular and diet Black Cherry(AMAZING), Root beer, Ginger Ale, Cream Soda. Coke, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Fanta ffs, and Hi-C fruit punch. Go crazy in sampling. Because I sure did and I don’t even like soda. I would seriously up this to 4 stars if it was both faster and more affordable. But $ 11 for a fast-food style hamburger and fries is just too much for what it is.

Here is a list of reasons why Lucky’s may seem like a fantastic idea: + It’s late, they’re open and close to the 2nd avenue F train. + You’re ravenous and your booze-fueled veins are crying out for greasy fast food. +There’s a lot of red and yellow in their décor and branding so you might think it’s comparable to In-N-Out burger or MickeyDs… yanno, if you’re weird. To be honest, I wouldn’t run to return here unless I really had to because Lucky’s is super duper overpriced for what they are. I’m insanely picky sometimes(ie. always) when it comes to burgers so when we decided to have a 10 minute diner session before a midnight movie screening at Sunshine Cinemas next door, I decided to go with a «Lucky Cheese Dog» — was it lucky because it cost me $ 10 for one hot dog and half of my friend’s fries that came with her meal? Have I paid $ 10 for a hot dog before? YES, has it come with my own set of fries — YES and has it come with more toppings than just 1? — Hell yeah(Japadog, I’m looking at you). Maybe if there is a next time I’ll just get fries though because they’re crinkle cut, a really perfect«fried to potato» ratio and Lucky’s has a grand selection of wonderous dipping sauces that made my taste buds happy. 3 stars.

For Lucky’s Famous Burgers, it’s not luck but skills that make their burgers awesome. They were lucky that I didn’t complain that they gave me the wrong order though. Lucky’s Bacon Cheddar($ 8.50) — This burger was packed with flavor and dripping with juices in a quality patty. The bacon added a nice touch of smokiness.(9⁄10) Lucky’s Naked Burger($ 5.50) — The naked burger substitutes the bun with lettuce. I guess if you are trying to lie to yourself about eating a «healthy» burger, this would be your choice but the lettuce doesn’t add much except maybe a little more crunch to the burger. The beef patty was exceptional again.(8.5÷10) Lucky Burger($ 5.50) — I ordered a Lucky’s Famous Cheddar but they gave me a regular burger instead. I am not a big fan of cheese so it wasn’t worth me fighting over the order. I guess I ordered it because of the winking smiley face next to the name on the menu. This burger was the most bland of the 3 we ate. There wasn’t much flavor and a little more dry than the rest.(7.5÷10) Lucky’s have the look of a dirty diner but their burgers are indeed delicious. If you don’t mind sitting in some sticky seats and an aging interior, you get a taste of some awesome burgers.
