I guess i don’t how these salons really work. My friends told me that if I want my hair washed and blown on the cheap, to try a hair salon in my neighborhood. The place was packed. It was an interesting experience for me to see how other cultures/nationalities get their hair done. I love learning about new cultures and anything related to how others may do things differently so that may have been my favorite part of this experience. I was told having my hair washed and blown would be expensive but if i was willing to put rollers in and sit under the dryer, it would be $ 20. I appreciated that they explained to me how this worked and rollers sounded OK to me(of course, i thought i would be under the dryer for like 20 mins) ! I got the most thorough hair washing of my life. I began wondering if they thought i hadn’t washed my hair all month! The shampoo stunk like a skunk though. No pretty flowery essence. I did not understand that when going under the hot as hell dryer, they basically ditch you there for over an hour until you complain that you’re too hot. Then they take the rollers out and are supposed to blow your hair out nicely. I looked like I was from the 1960s when my hair came out of the rollers. I had spent too much time and was too hot to even think about a blow dryer after that. I just pulled my hair in a ponytail and tried to tell myself that atleast my hair was clean. But it definitely was a waste and the charged me the same even though i never got the blow dry. I think next time i won’t be so cheap and will spend the extra $ 10 to go to a salon that knows how to do white girls hair!
