The owner, Louie, passed away last week. Went by to pick up a lock he ordered for me and there were bouquets of flowers in the closed security gate. Called his mobile & was told the bad news. My condolences to his family.

Call before going to this place. I walk over and am greeted with a sign saying «be back at 10:45am» when it showed up at 10:20. I am suppose to hang out for 25 minutes waiting on them to come back? I ended up going elsewhere.

If you live or work in the West Village and need a copy made of your keys — definitely go here. The guy who made my keys was super friendly and they were copied in about 45 seconds — amazing! I think it was about $ 4 total for two keys. Exactly what I needed — highly recommend. Not sure what else they do, but I’m sure they do it well!

I love old school hardware stores! They have such interesting things on their shelves! And everything is so cheap! Home Depot/​Lowes suck because they are so overpriced, and even though they are so big, there is usually not much of a selection! I have been using Lock-​It for the last few years and always find the locksmith to be nice, pleasant, and quick. Cheap too!

Made the keys super quick and was very cheap– 2 basic keys for under $ 3! The guy who helped me was also very nice.

They copied my apartment keys quickly and without seeming confused which makes them 100% better than most other key copiers. The keys work better than the originals actually.
Only 4 stars because it’s cash only.
