Very clean dog run with excellent view of the Hudson. Lots of room for active dogs. My dog prefers the asphalt ground over the stone. I appreciate that there is more than enough seating available for people. As stated in another review, I wish there was a separate area for smaller dogs. My dog is 7 lbs and she gets very intimidated by the big dogs running and playing.

Great, roomy, clean dog run; I’ve never seen a fight here. The surface is blacktop, which isn’t great for dogs’ feet and toes, but on the other hand it’s pretty sanitary. It’s closed for a couple of hours in the morning for daily maintenance. This is a great place to throw a tennis ball for an active dog. Importantly, there’s a strict rule of three dogs per person. It’s really not humanly possible to keep track of more than three dogs; there’s a dog walker who goes to Tompkins Square and brings a pack of dogs and refuses to speak to anyone there. Fortunately for him, no one calls him on this. The number of the Hudson River Park Police is posted near the dog run entrance, in case anyone needs to report any suspicious activity. During the day, this is a sociable place to meet – although in winter months there are a lot fewer people than there are in the spring, summer, and fall.

Decent westside run with views of Hudson River. Things it has going for it: — Decent size run — Adequate seating for humans — Great fencing, gates and entry area — Dedicated water fountain but its not a dog water fountain — Hose to clean/cool off dogs — Asphalt ground cover will keep your dog cleaner than dirt or that crushed stone stuff — Views of Hudson River Things it has against it: — No bathrooms near run for humans — No separate large and small dog runs — Can get windy — Asphalt ground cover may get hot in areas with no shade — No poop bags but bin for plastic shopping bags(which was empty when I went) — Parking an issue if you don’t live locally This run isn’t bad but a little too windy for my taste. Add more seating, a separate small dog run w/water and add some more shade… this is a 4 star run. Upgrade the ground cover and it is a possible 5 star run. Dog runs/parks I have been to so far:
