Authentic Szechuan food. Better than most places in the city. Close to Lincoln center. Our go to place before shows if I forgot to make dinner reservation in advance. Service is fast. Taking one star off for the cramped space.

Rude beyond belief, mrs Gordon who answers the phone likes to yell at customers, miserable woman and not worth the mediocre food. Avoid legend and go elsewhere.

Found myself in the UWS and stumbled upon here thanks to Unilocal. Soup dumplings were on point. The spicy tofu w minced pork was delicious. My only gripe is that the roast pork buns lacked enough filling and were too doughy.

Finally, a nearby authentic sichuan chinese restaurant I’m not embarrassed to take my parents on the UWS! When my mom with discriminating tastes(not to mention she was born in Szechuan) took her first bite and gushed, «MMMM!» with her eyebrows raised, I knew this would be a regular place from where to order when they visited. Their Ma-Po Tofu is the silkiest most flavorful Ma-Po Tofu dish I’ve ever had. We regularly order the Ma-Po Tofu and Kung Pao Chicken. The Dry Sauteed String Beans w/Minced Pork, Double Cooked Fresh Bacon, and whole fish with spicy sauce are also favorites. Sadly, authentic chinese food is hard to find on the UWS except for our other favorite place: Han Dynasty. Instead, perplexedly american-ized chinese places abound. Hope this place is here to stay!

The hotpot was not clean or safe. All of us got upset stomach and felt really really sick after eating there. It was quite a suffering. Also, the waitress asked us to add the tip amount and said that 15% tip is mandatory even though they did not clarify it anywhere in the menu. Anyway, it was our worst dining experience in NYC, not recommend.

I heard this is THE best Chinese food in town. Well I won’t say its the best, given that the sample population is low: I only tried 5 – 6 Chinese restaurant at Manhattan. But it is definitely a great place if you would like to try some Chinese cuisine in a decent surrounding. I enjoyed a lot! The decoration of this restaurant is just great. AND the taste is not all spicy!

Hot pot in the UWS? SCORE! My friend, his gf, and I came here for dinner because another friend recommended this place to us. For $ 30 a person, it is AYCE hot pot(excluding shrimp). They provide 2 broths, spicy and regular fragrant. The spicy one was spicy since it was filled with szechuan peppercorns. The regular broth wasn’t that flavorful. It’s cool how the place is AYCE for hot pot. THey come by and fill the pot with more water when necessary. The servers also come by and ask if we want any addition veggies, meats, seafoods, etc. This place is okay. It’s not great, but for the UWS it does serve its purpose.

Very good restaurant with quality and authentic Chinese food. Had the fried rice and lo mein and wasn’t too heavy. Dim sum is really great, had pork buns and BBQ ribs. Green tea ice cream is also very good, not too over processed. The service is really good, attentive, and sweet. The restaurant is clean and the portions are good. Honestly recommend if you have a craving for Chinese!

Elegant dining environment and attentive service. I tried garlic spare rib and Bok-choy with mushroom. To be honest, the food is not so impressive. I

Chicken and Broccoli was flavorless. a shame, because the quality was good and it was cooked right. the only flavor was an odd musty kind of one. pork dumplings were 80% bland dough, and 20% meh pork. i ate as much as i could only because the cost wasnt cheap.

RUDE, SLOW, INHOSPITABLE. Slow service speed, inhospitable attitude. And even ask for 15% tips with discriminate attitude. Tips depend on the service !!! I would like to give more than 20% tip if I am satisfy with the service. But the service here, like I mentioned before, very slow! very inhospitable and even irresponsible. The waiter shift the service slow speed to the kitchen. The waiter even is malapert to ask for the 15% tips!!! and the food here is really below average. Would never step into this place again.

Got food poisoned on Nov.21,2015 due to one or multiple of the following: big plate chicken, sour cabbage fish soup, mushroom and vermicelli dry pot –Avoid those!

I love the shrimp here. It is the taste of traditional Chinese street food. It is not very spicy but a little bit sweet. And the cocktail here is good. I recommend the orange one but I cannot remember the name.

I order delivery from Legend once every 2 weeks like clock work. The food is so addictive that’s all my wife will let me order. Funny enough I’ve never actually eaten at the physical location, but it’s on my bucket list. The dry diced chicken and Singapore noodles are a must.

Comparable to Chelsea location! Finally a decent Sichuan chinese place in the UWS. Quality is similar however the recipes are slightly different. DISHES: Pork w/garlic sauce is one of my wife’s favorite appetizer. Very good. Wish it had the cucumber slices that Chelsea location includes. Smoked pork w/leak is one of my favorite dishes. Pleasurable as always. Chongqing chicken with chili is very solid staple. We love the Chelsea location and the staff is great. However for similar quality, I’ll give up the hike and enjoy a much closer location. We will be coming back many times. Not sure why it has so many 1 star reviews.

Went for lunch and two of us had Hot & Sour Soup, Cold Sesame Noodles, & Shrimp Dumplings. Soup and dumplings were good but the noodles were exceptional, just the right amount of spicy kick. Lot’s of interesting things on the menu to try. Legend 72 is clean, service quick & friendly, and the price reasonable. A solid option if you find yourself in the area.
