DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. I picked up my poor baby Lola he lied about her having her rabies shot he also said she was a month old and she was three. She is terrified and won’t even go near another human being beside my boyfriend and I but now she has been getting a lot more comfortable thank god. Her hair was so ratted and dry that when we took her to the groomer they took 6 hours to brush out her hair. My poor baby was in so much pain. The guy is an asshole and I hate the owner we came back to pick up her custom collar (which btw he said he was going to mail which we never even received). And he said a comment «if I knew she was going to stay this small I would have charged u more» which is another example of how much of a liar he is since he charged us more telling us she was a teacup!!! Ugh awful.

This place is still open. I am not sure of the new name but would love to write them a horrible review! They changed names because of so many bad reviews online. The place should be shut down by the city. They treat their animals like s**T and use puppy mills. The workers are rude and uninterested in animals. DO NOT buy from here.

PLEASE do not buy a puppy here. I got one 3 weeks ago. The paperwork said he was 8 weeks old when I got him but the vet verified by his teeth that he was 4 weeks. He has severe anxiety issues and trauma. They are inhumane and cruel, dishonest and illegal. Do not trust what the paper work says about shots either. Please tell everyone you can to NEVER go near this place. They own two more stores, Citipups and another across the street in the village. Please tell everyone you know to ban these stores.

I waited to write my review because I wanted to see how my pup would turn out. Well, guess what? he has trachea issues and he has TWO bad knees and surgery will be required. The price of having knee surgery is double what we paid for him. One his testicles didn’t drop, had to have surgery to remove that as well. I will never buy from this pet shop again. I still love him but next time I’ll take my chances on a rescue.

Horrible establishment. All puppies are not let outside and are kept in cramped glass display cases– even when they are older and larger than the miniature breeds at the front! I only walked in to ask about their breeders and whether or not they buy from puppy mills, and when I did, the man working there shrugged but assured me that they are shipped to the store when they are no younger than four weeks old– FOUR WEEKS– as if that was supposed to make me feel better. Poor babies. Do not support this place.

I love my dog, so far he is healthy and energetic. At first he has skin problems as all the other Frenchies had, but then I find out it’s not the common problem for frenchies when I stopped feeding him dog food, instead I cooked for him and took him out to play a lot. When he is happy and eat healthy (little meat and milk), his skin problem is gone.

Steven the manager at Le Petit Puppy Boutique is not whom I wish
to work with. The other employees however are kind and accommodating.
Steven is obviously on commission. I asked to purchase another dog from
the same breeder for over one year and Steven told me he would reach
out to the breeder. A year later nothing. I like this store but I am not pleased
with Steven nor his false promises and he stated he would credit a $ 500 deposit
I put on another dog another false promise. He never did a thing. I have been
trying to reach out to the «owner (s)» to let them know but no one will tell me
who the owner (s) are. Dogs are healthy, cute, and all the employees do a great job.
Steven would be good if he would provide service I already paid $ 2,800 for my dog
and I purchased over another $ 1,000 in dog crate and other necessities at an extreme
premium. You would think that Steven would have called breeder to get another dog
for me since I paid top dollar and tipped him and his co-​worker as well! GEEZE!

I was in today with my two children looking for a little gift for our dog. The shop keeper couldn’t have been ruder! I said we weren’t interested in buying a puppy (I never would from a pet shop anyhow) and he literally scoffed at me, twice! The puppies were cute, bored, cooped up and with a very unpleasant man for the day. I’ve never written a Unilocal review, however, I wanted to warn people not to support this place– inhuman to dogs and humans!

Two wonderful puppies from here… Most of you say don’t give them a cent. But these puppy’s need a home and love just as much as any other dogs. We have had no issues with our two dogs. They are two loving, friendly dogs that have a wonderful home.

Our little puppy is still doing well but I think she does have PTSD from being in a cage or puppy mill. She hates being caged up, when she sees wire fences she is scared. Also when we bring her to the groomers she hates it, possibly because they keep her in a pen. I’m not sure how to close this place, I don’t doubt they get their dogs from puppy mills. But like I said before, I couldn’t imagine my life with our daughter.

Puppies are caged in ridiculously small areas, they come from PUPPY MILLS, most of them got scratches and teary eyes.
City prices for dogs in pet stores are INSANE. If you are ready to buy a dog, you should consider a little wait, and choose your dog from a breeder outside Manhattan.
I had a crush on a puppy there once, and one of the employees started to be very pushy. I still cannot believe what the guy told me while I was trying to stop the conversation to leave. Bunch of lies about the breeders; that I’ll be send fake pictures of my futur puppy, and they will probably lie to me about vaccinations… That pups are always 2200 – 2700 $. Well, AKC breeders can be surprising then… Cause I found my little 10 weeks pure breed puppy at 900 $ in NJ. Which is certainly expensive, considering that my two other dogs are adopted ones :) But still.
— If you’re mature enough to buy a dog (or adopt), please, you’re mature enough to stand a few weeks wait and give your money to people who actually love and care about animals.

DO NOT PURCHASE A PUPPY!!! I spent over $ 10,000.00 in medical bills caring for this puppy who did not survive. Multiple calls for months, emails, faxing, scanning… I begged for the store to do something and they did nothing but have attitude and ignore.
Save your heart and your wallet. I miss Brooklyn every day she was part of my family for the short time she was with me.

WORST PLACE. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PUPPY MILL SHOP. IT IS AWFUL!!! I have seen first-​hand horrible cruelty. Even if I take my own «rescue-​only moral code» away from this and deal with the store as another neighborhood business, what I have witnessed first-​hand living across the street is horrific and heartbreaking. It only further cemented that this place is just BAD.
I believe all dogs should be rescued, yes. There are so darn many that just need a loving home, it is ridiculous to still think people buy and perpetuate the homelessness and shelter killings. You can SO easily find what you want in a rescue if you just do a little research! (aspca, humane society, nsal
local shelters & orgs… SO many resources) There are thousands of puppies, purebreds galore, even teeny tiny pups if that’s your thing… all needing a home and WAY less $$$ than buying!
Just put on the blinders when walking by this deceptive, money-​hungry joint and go home and get on the computer and find one that needs you to give it a chance and save it’s life. ALL they want is love and you will feel better about it, every day, guaranteed! And btw, you will spend on average $ 150 to adopt… to Save! Le Petit Puppy cranks these poor puppies out like sweaters and charges a thousand dollars! It is simply a business to them. They throw them in cold windows where they play in and eat eachother’s…you know what, while people stare in and dogs bark by. At night, they leave them all alone in a dark basement, where, the «watchdog,» babysat, I guess???
So, Until recently, there used to be the large, old dog that was the «watch dog.» Yes– this same dog that could not get up on his own, seemed mostly blind and absolutely required special care and extra love. Yet, I only ever saw him downstairs, alone, in the basement, confined to the front so as to uphold the «watchdog,» signage the owner put up. All the others that were for sale, were confined to teeny cages stacked in the back, every night. I’m sure many of you had seen and heard him bark all night, clearly lonely and probably in pain. This dog could not get up by himself, could not move well at all, really, and yet, he was left alone all night! Are you seeing the obvious?~ the owner chose to leave HIS own dog alone down there… to work for him! This poor pup could not even stand on his own, would bark nonstop for attention, probably from pain. SO, certainly this man doesn’t have the best interest of these animals at heart! Enough said. Well, One early morning, I witnessed a worker «walking» him and have never been able to forget what I saw. It made me cry and I called to my friend who has never even had a dog and he was appalled and later called the city about it. I was enjoying coffee at my window until this…
The pup tried to lower himself to go to the bathroom, which inevitably ended in him sliding down, as he couldn’t support himself. It was obvious to anyone, yet this dog was not given a proper harness or support strap, nothing to help support him at all. Just a collar and a typical, impatient Le Petit Puppy employee. So, he laid there, legs sprawled, in his own urine. Minutes passed as the employee went from ignoring him to staring down at him, doing nothing. He was getting NO help (see a pattern, here?) from the walker. Instead, the man just stood there looking down at this poor dog that clearly could not get up on his own and DEFINITELY didn’t mean to slide down into his own waste and THEN, the guy suddenly yanks upwards on leash! Literally yanking the dog up by the collar digging into his neck and dragging trying to get the dog to move. It simply couldn’t. He needed help and was getting NONE! The dog was sliding and struggling– it was AWFUL! It was a deer on ice– but the whole thing was intentional– this dog’s suffering could have been stopped, helped even and the man almost enjoyed it. I even saw someone say something and he completely ignored her! It was one of the most horrific things I have ever seen. Animal abuse is apparently a way of life here. That is how they TREAT their own dog. THEY DO NOT CARE. It broke my heart to see someone in this field practice SUCH inhumanity and ignore being called out on it, even. Simply put~ THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN. Spare yourself. Spare all the other dogs that will not be impregnated and mistreated to refill these windows and small cages.

Wish I could give zero stars. Owner was possibly one of the rudest person I’ve ever met in my life (and I grew up in New York). The puppies are not treated well at all… cramped, it should be considered abuse. This is a shameful establishment, I hope something is done about it very soon.

I;m not the biggest dog fan but I came here and i didn’t want to leave. The little puppies were all extremely cute but i didn’t like how they were all kept in small areas. I’m not sure about the products that they sell but the gentleman who worked there that was with me was extremely helpful and friendly.

There is an Aussie– who should be on a farm– in a tiny cage! Horribly small cages– this supports puppy mills!!!

To make me feel better about the dogs in tiny cages, I was told that they let the puppies out for ONE HOUR OF PLAYTIME A DAY.
This place should be closed. Inhumane. Do not give them a cent.

We got our dog here over 3 years ago. No health problems (still healthy and happy), but after some serious googling about the «breeder» that she came from, of course she was from a puppy mill. I am a first-​time pet owner admitting my ignorance about pet shops and mills. I know now better. The brusque, woman who runs the shop is all business, with no passion for the dogs. When you get a dog, they quickly hoist all these extra overpriced items on you (carrier, bowls, leash, etc), in a pushy way. The «daycare» downstairs is a closet-​sized bare room and guess what — they do not let any visitors in to check the facilities– obviously they have something to hide! The employees? well, they reflect the character of the owner. Trickle-​down effect.
I can’t say enough BAD things about this «shop». i could go on and on. Wish the city would pass a law to ban these places.

Simply put — PUPPY MILL. It’s a shame a neighborhood like West Village would allow such a shady store to exist. These puppies are treated inhumanely, locked up in their tiny, poorly maintained cages. 24 – 7.
Sales people here can careless about the well beings of these animals. My friends and I witnessed several puppies eating their own feces, and the when we alerted the sales guy, he told us nonchalantly «oh it’s normal, they just mistaken it for food, happens all the time». My dog owner friend reassured me that’s absolutely untrue. Dogs only do this when they are under extreme stress, anxiety or nutritional deficiencies. There is nothing but animal cruelty in this heartless store. Le Petit needs to be shut down!

I visit this pet shop whenever I’m in town because they have a ton of cute little puppies of different breeds and I can cuddle and play with them since my own dog has grown up.
Let’s just say, there is an unending amount of little dogs whenever I walk by. There is usually about 5 – 8 puppies just in the front window alone and when you walk into the shop there are more. Witnessing this I have always wondered puppy mill? and now reading reviews posted on Unilocal about those who have actually purchased a puppy makes me sad and actually makes me want to spend time with them since it seems as though they are just cooped up in the boxes.
I usually take the time to play with one and always ask how much that particular puppy costs the prices has ranged from $ 1000-​$ 1600. The one for a $ 1000 was a «lowered» price because it was an older puppy. $ 1000? $ 1500? Outrageous prices!!! Although they have very popular breeds in their store, I would never spend that much on a puppy when you can adopt and even find the same breeds for much less.
The workers in the shop are always courteous and willing to let customers play with the puppies, but I always sense their «salesman» attitude when I’m in. I’ve actually head one say to someone, «Just trying to sell a dog.»
I do say you can go into purchase dog items since they have items that are reasonably priced, though I wouldn’t actually get a puppy from here especially from reviews of their puppies being sick which can be physically, mentally, and financially exhausting. Try to adopt a pet… there are lots of puppies that need homes and you don’t have to pay a fortune.
