Lost in the shuffle of various restaurants and competing delis, the Landmark Gourmet is located in the Coenties Square area of the Financial District and its anything but gourmet. One of the reasons why its not one of the more popular places is because of the fact its cramped and the food is subpar at best. One would think that as long as the weather is good that most restaurants would flourish in this area, but still this place still loses in the popularity contest. Prices are about average for a deli and they thankfully take credit card. The seating area is literally right next to the door with no more than 4 – 5 tables at best. When full, the place gets stuffy real quick and the fluorescent lighting shining from above does not help. There is no buffet here but pre-made sandwiches, soups, and customizable salads. I’ve had all of them and none of which impressed me enough to want to come back here unless I was desperate. Service here is not bad and I think the woman who normally handles the register at the front is very nice. They’re now on Seamless Web, just perfect for those who are stuck in the office, willing to consume just about anything.
