One of my favorite cake places in NYC! I can’t stay away from this place. Wish it was a bit bigger so that we could avoid all those long waiting lines outside but it so worth the wait when you take a bite of their cakes. I’ve had about 4 different kinds and my favorite is the strawberry shortcake! Delicious!

LadyM might be my favorite dessert stop in NYC. The crêpe cakes are amazing and delicate! The original is by far my favorite, nice custard velvety flavor and a nice thin crêpe layer. Almost taste like light crème brûlée custard. The green tea crêpe is a little strong on matcha, not my favorite. I also sampled a monthly special which was really good. The cake slices are not super big, but very filling. My only complaint is the matcha latte was very disappointing; bitter, water, and way overpriced. Skip the drinks and save that $$$ for another crêpe slice!

The food itself is very good. I ordered the green tea crêpe cake and the strawberry shortcake. Both of them met my expectations. But the reason why I’m giving this place 2 stars is that they had no AC on a hot afternoon, so it ruined the enjoyable experience. Also, the staff working there were extremely rude. Just by looking at them, I can tell they are annoyed by the customers. Working in the service industry myself, I know their attitude is not acceptable. 18% tip was also automatically added into the bill…

I used to be a huge fan of Lady M cakes, but over the years I’ve realized that they’re way too hyped up. I’ve had the Vanilla and Green Tea cake many times, but it’s never consistently the same. Sometimes the cake will be really soft and fluffy, while other times it will be rather stale. I also think that at $ 7+ per slice and $ 75 per cake, it’s just way too overpriced. Not trying to pay that much for 700+ calories per slice(check their website).

I had a very similar cake in Asia while it was served iced cold. It tasted almost like an ice cream and very good. When I visited NYC and decided to try the famous Lady M signature mille crepes cake. It was very good and not very sweet. It was not served very cold so it tasted different than the one I had before. It tasted just like a regular cake with cream within the multiple layers. When I was in the store, most customers were asians and a lot of them looked like tourists just like me. My NYC friend told me this type cake was quite popular in Asia now. I can understand why because it was on the light and not very sweet side just like the cake usually made in Asia. Overall I like it although the cake is kind of expensive.

We came on a Sunday afternoon and there was a short line for indoor seating — it took us around 10 minutes to get to our seat. We got the citrus mille crêpe cake and it was delicious. I’ve had other mille crêpe cakes before, and what really sets Lady M’s cake apart is the thinness of its crepes. You can really taste how light each layer of crêpe is. The citrus cream between each layer of thinness made it divine. At $ 8.50, it was a bit pricey, given the 18% gratuity and tax — it came out to be a total of $ 10.50. The gratuity though, is not mandatory and the servers ask you nicely if the 18% gratuity is okay and are willing to change it for you(which I guess would be a bit awkward). Lady M does their cakes well and I have no complaints about their cake, but a couple of things that irked me.(1) hot water was $ 2.50 — not sure why anyone should have to pay for hot water,(2) cappuccino was $ 5.00, latte was $ 5.50, teas were $ 8 — do yourself a favor and hop to the blue bottle café 2 stores down and get yourself a well-made latte for ~$ 4.(3) their bathroom was out of order — if people are willing to pay $ 11 for a slice of cake and usually $ 40 – 60 per table, fix it.

Creamy and delicious. We had green tea and vanilla, both were good though I prefer the green tea. We came right before closing and most of the other favors were gone, but the lines went fairly quick. $ 8 a slice isn’t too bad, but it really is a bunch of stacked crepes with cream in between. Not too sweet either so that’s a plus.

Come on a weekday so it’s not too crowded otherwise weekend lines can get superrrr long! And the space inside is quite cramped. You’re probably better off taking it to go and sitting in the park across the street to eat it.(And blue bottle is next door so get coffee there instead of lady m which isn’t as good) I like the plaza food hall and upper east locations better. This one gets too touristy!

The almond crêpe is the best. Tried the green tea crêpe and the chocolate cake slice and did not like it as much as I loved the almond crêpe. It gets pretty busy so sometimes people have to wait in line.

Lady M’s green tea crêpe cake is the best crêpe cake ever! Paper thin crepes layered with a super light and creamy green tea filling. The cake is rather pricey but I have yet to find a place that can replicate the taste and texture so until then there is no other. I recommend eating each crêpe cake layer by layer.

Just around the corner from the New York Public Library. Not a lot of seating but we were able to snag a seat. It was entertaining eavesdropping the neighboring table. The cakes were light and just how I like them. We got a green tea mousse. They had run out of the iced coffee so we ordered some tea. Not the best in terms of service if you plan on having your meal there. Takes a while to clear a table. Much better option if you are able to just grab your cake to go.

Delicious green tea crêpe cake! Went at noon on a weekday and plenty of seats inside. Since it was a gorgeous day, I took my slice and ate outside in Bryant Park. $ 8.50 per slice. They also sell insulated ice bag and ice packs of you need to travel with it. They recommend refrigerating it within 2 hours of purchase. A doorman opens the door here. The service you get with the premium price of a cake.

To be honest, I think the cakes at this location are not as good as the those at the UES location. For this location(don’t come here very often), I’ve tried lemon, original and matcha flavored Mille Crepes, Gataeu Nuage, Mimosa, Mille Feuille, Éclair, and and Mont Blanc over the past couple years. I can say, their cakes are definitely not worth the $$$ quality wise. They are sorta heavy, cheaply and overly sweet, and greasily buttery. Only the original and matcha crepes are comparably good; others are really mediocre and bore me quickly. For example, the Gataeu Nuage and Mille Feuille. They looked tempting, but the cream was thick, sweet, and does not have original flavors of the ingredients. I usually can eat 3 cakes at a time, but these two fed me up easily and the aftertaste that stayed on my throat made me uncomfortable. Although, for the UES store, I’ve only tried the original Mille Crêpe, Green Tea Mousse cake, and the Checkers cake, I prefer the original Mille Crêpe and the Checkers because they simply tasted better, lighter, and were easier to swallow. The Green Tea Mousse was too greasy and I don’t recommend it, especially to someone who doesn’t like cream based cakes. I may try their Banana Mille Feuille next time, but I’m expecting disappointment rather than surprise.

Looks better than it tastes. We ordered 6 different types of cakes to try(Checkers, Green Tea Mousse Cake, Green Tea Mille Crêpe, Banana Mille Feuille, Raspberry Chocolate Cake, and the Strawberry Mille Crêpe). The concept is interesting and the presentation is pretty, however, taste is a little bland. They are all pretty light and fluffy so you don’t feel so bad eating them. However, I honestly felt like I was eating a chinese sponge roll cake from your typical chinatown bakery. The raspberry chocolate cake and green tea mousse cake were probably my favorite, but again, I’ve had a lot better tasting cakes for both flavors. Wouldn’t recommend this if you’re looking for rich flavors. Oh and they have a bouncer for their cake shop who doesn’t let people in until others come out. This location is pretty small so most people order to take away — don’t expect to find a place to sit, especially in groups over 2 – 3. Luckily, it is right next to Bryant Park, which is a great place to sit and relax.

I basically go to two Lady M locations the one at the Plaza Food Hall which is the lower level of the Plaza Hotel at 59th Street and this one on 40th Street across the street from Bryant Park. This Lady M is small, but more popular because of the local colleges, libraries, parks, Times Square, and the big plus is they are open late. Most of the time there is a line waiting to get in and they have a few tables inside, but you can do take out instead. They will charge you an extra 18% if you do take a table on top of the current $ 8 average for a cake. The most popular cake here I think is the Green Tea Millie Crepes cake, you can easily find other popular cakes like Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Milli Crepes or Chocolate Milli Banana Crepes cake etc. etc. just check their web site for the 20 or 30 cakes they have. I can say that every cake I tried, 10+, on dozens of occasions were all yummy tasting like the crepes cake they have pastry cream between about 20 plus layers of thin crepes covered with Powered Green Tea. Each bite felt like eating creamy air but it will still fill you up if you do a whole slice. I’m always getting an extra slices to take them to my best buddy coworkers were we then taste test every one of them together. My buddies are Chinese and they tell me the crepes cake is a must to try at least once in the their community. And that they don’t like sharing this cake on a date because it just taste to good, hint!!!

Fantastic concept. Fantastic location right across from Bryant Park. Not so fantastic. The cake. The service. The lines. What a disappointment especially after waiting 20 minutes in the freezing rain in January just to step foot in the place after which we weren’t greeted with warm smiles, but with eye rolls and«next». Ugh. They didn’t want to be there and to be honest, I started not to either. It was friend’s birthday so I sucked it up. My girlfriends and I did drool over these gorgeous cakes from behind the glass. They were just stunning! The strawberry shortcake with perfectly sliced strawberries on top looked to die for. The checkered cake was a perfect piece of art and the green tea layered crêpe caked was not only super unique, but I stood in awe thinking about the time put into making it. I was so excited to bring these treats home to my family. After all, they’re $ 8 a slice and I stood in a tundra for them. Unfortunately, they didn’t deliver. My family who has the biggest sweet tooth of anyone I know didn’t like not then. Not one bite. «Bland» and«not sweet» were comments. They didn’t care for the green tea crêpe or éclair, nor the strawberry shortcake. What a waste. My friends liked their slices, but weren’t thrilled with the wait or the luke warm lattes they bought. What a shame.

Lady M has to be one of my favorite bakeries in NYC, and it’s all because of those uniquely and beautifully crafted crêpe cakes. Yes folks, these are cakes made from layering 20 layers of crepes on top of each other with a layer of cream in between each crêpe, and the end result is a dessert experience unlike any other! The cake is light, soft, semi-sweet, and absolutely delicious and is deserving of the hype it receives and is well worth the price it demands. While both are delicious, I prefer the green tea mille crêpe cakes over the original crêpe cake because the green tea crêpe cake is a bit more special and has that lovely green tea flavor. I will absolutely be back for these crêpe cakes and to try out some of their other goodies as well!

Perfection. Absolute perfection. This place was packed at 6PM on a Thursday and for good reason. I’ve been wanting to try the mille crêpe for a while now but have never gotten around to it. I’ve had knock off versions but they paled horribly to the real thing. If you haven’t tried it yet, you need to go. Even if you don’t have a sweet tooth, you have to go. Green tea mille crêpe(8.50) — Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely. It was lightly sweet and basically melted in my mouth. I’m actually glad that it isn’t cheap because I would probably be back way too often otherwise. Easily one of the best desserts I’ve had. Often imitated, never replicated.

I couldn’t resist getting a slice of the green tea mille cake, even thought I already had ice cream from Café Zaiya.(I really have no self control over sweets, and my bf doesn’t ever stop me). As other reviewers had already stated, Lady M is typically full of Asian girls and tourists, which was true as per my visit today. Their pretty cakes and pastries are very photogenic and Instagram/Facebook worthy. The cashier was very nice and thorough. Told me that he was putting my copy of the receipt in the bag, while getting a tray for me to sign the merchant’s copy of the receipt. He gave me 2 utensils without me asking. It’s been a while since I tasted the crêpe cake. I guess it was a let down as I remember it tasting more amazing. Each layer of the crêpe was positioned perfectly so that it wasn’t uneven. There was a lot more cream then i remembered. It was hard cutting into the cake with the fork for each bite and it was much easier to just eat it layer by layer. The matcha powder was bitter, but the cream was sweet, so that was a good combo. $ 8.50 for a slice of cake is pretty pricey, hence the 3 stars. But it is what it is as this is midtown and Lady M is a popular tourist destination. FYI-You should get your order to go and walk across the street to Bryant Park to eat it. Saves a bit of money and you won’t feel rushed if there is a line for a table.

We came across this place on Unilocal trying to look for a good restaurant for dessert and ended up eating here for a late breakfast /brunch /snack. The first thing I thought of when I saw this place was Paris. It’s an adorable place to have some berry tarts or crepes. BUT, they’re not just ordinary crepes… Each crêpe cake is 20 layers of crêpe and they have flavors from green tea to red velvet to chocolate. Their crêpe cakes were delicious but a bit over priced. We ordered 2 crepes, a berry tart and two coffees and the total came out to $ 50. I’m not sure if I would go back but it’s a good place to come for a date or just w friends for the experience. I also got a green tea éclair to go — delicious!
