Saw a ROTD and bookmarked it as a place to visit for whenever I was in the neighborhood. I guess my expectations were too high. The sandwich was ok, but not anywhere close to amazing. I ordered #3-Alba: prosciutto, fontina cheese, and truffle oil on a whole wheat baguette. With tax, the total came out to $ 11.98. There was a decent amount of prosciutto and cheese with each bite. The truffle oil tasted amazing with the sandwich. The let down was the that the baguette was stale, way too chewy. I was tired from chewing the sandwich. The espresso that came with the sandwich was delicious. No sugar necessary as it wasn’t bitter.

Wow! Amazing!!! There are no words to describe the food. Prosciutto is fantastic and mozzarella is to die for. All the products are so fresh and yammy! But not only the food is great here but also the service. The owner is a great guy who knows everything about Italian food. It’s very pleasant to chat with him. It was my first time here and I definitely coming back.

Wow the reviews here really blew up. This place has changed a bit since I’ve been there but most have been for the better. More sandwich listings and more extra options. The vatellina is still my favorite though the Peppe and Olga are both excellent. Burrata is expensive but well worth it as well. I’ve always gotten my food on site. It seems the poorer reviews are for ordering, maybe that’s the issue?

The #5; prosciutto, evoo, fondina cheese and fig preserves on a baguette tastes infinitely better than it sounds(and it sounds pretty amazing!) The sandwhich was huge… and I ate the Whole thing… without guilt! If you are going to consume calories, they may as well taste exceptional! I am so glad this authentic italian sandwhich shop was next to my hotel… italian was spoken freely amongst some guests and my sandwhich artisantransporting me ever so briefly back to the old country. The meat and cheese board looked divine! Its a tiny little shop, but a gem and definitely a perfect pit stop for a sandwhich you can pickup and then eat while you enjoy Washington Park! I hughly recommend and will return next trip to nyc!

PROSCIUTTO. I had a real craving for a prosciutto sandwich(I get them A LOT). So I decided to venture out after my barre class. I decided on La Panineria and walked from class. Google Maps was totally playing a joke on me because I had some trouble finding the place. Undeterred, I called them. La Panineria is a tiny sandwich shop next to La Pain Quotidien. I had to rush because they said they were closing at 8:30 instead of 9. I got the #2(Prosciutto, mozzarella and EVOO) on a baguette, slightly toasted. Omg, it totally satisfied me(in the risotto kind of way — Seinfeld anyone??). The sandwich is huge(and quite meaty) for only $ 10(I’ve paid way more for a less satisfying prosciutto sandwich!). AND you get soda or water. I MUSTCOMEBACK.

I’m not a hater… and I really wanted to like this place considering I ordered this via postmates right after gymming but this is what i get… a rather fillingless sandwich, with epically HARD bread that made my jaw hurt after 4 bites, and to top it off I now have minor cuts in my mouth. I now also realize I may have consumed enough bread to last me through the week… I took a chance on this place after Unilocaling it but I really had a bad experience… I hope others get much more filling and not epically hard bread, christ that was difficult to eat. The part i dislike the most is that the sandwich starts off at 13 bucks… then i had to add tomato otherwise its just like 2 toppings, then with tax you have yourself a 16 – 17 $ sandwich. I EXPECT A TONOFFILLING.

I ordered this delivery via seamless. Prosciutto, mozzarella, basil and olive oil on a baguette. It was fine, but not $ 16 fine. The meat portions were skimpy, the mozzarella tasted like it was from the grocery store(definitely not fresh) and the bread was on the stale side. Walk down and go to Alidoro. Their portions, ingredients and bread are much better than this place.

Great little place in the village that serves Italian sandwiches. Good variety, and free drink with each sandwich($ 10-$ 14). Pricey but good. Bread is excellent. Like a little Italian deli with other things for sale too like snacks and olive oil.

Simple Italian panino shop in NYC. Prosciutto and mozzarella quality were excellent. Very small place with only a few seats. $ 10 a panino includes drink. Great spot for lunch. I will definitely return.

Came here after studying abroad in Florence, Italy for a few months for my panino fix, but I was disappointed :(Seemed like a legitimately Italian panineria, but it just wasn’t the same. Not that it was bad, just not the same. I got the Alba, and I thought it was just okay. I do like that it’s $ 10, including a drink. Good cheap lunch option if you’re in the area.

A joke, I thought. Ten dollars, for: Three thin slices of deli salami. Two tiny triangles of deli provolone. Stale bread. HUH? Ridiculous. Anything that might add, I dunno, FLAVOR to this absurdly small, sad, dry«sandwich» costs extra dollars. Seriously. This place is just absurd. You’ll pay TEN dollars for what costs them about 25 cents. For God’s sake. Ridiculous. The Unilocal reviews have got to be bought and paid-for, because this place is just absurd. AVOID.

Aye, I got myself in trouble with this one. I was at the spa next door and I was looking up places to get something quick, and I don’t know why I chose to walk in here because I have been working out so hard and eating so healthy and I will probably gain 50 million pounds after this place. Cute, charming, and small… a simple menu, designed to make it easy to order, which of course you can still make your own sammy, but I chose to order from their array. If you don’t like proscuitto, then I hate you. I mean, don’t come here. Most of their sandwiches consists of it. If you don’t like mozzarella or burrata, then you need to die. I meant, don’t come here. They make their own and it’s simple and fresh, and added to a lot of their menu items. Anyways, their proscuitto was sliced like tissue thin, not paper thin, but thinner! So light, not too salty, probably the best proscuitto I can think of. I got it on a baguette, with the burrata, dripping out of the sides, ooey and gooey, with just some tomato and arugula(mainly for color? jk). I devoured it. I didn’t even give it a chance to look pretty, and I still regret giving a piece to my friend who said«that’s f*cking retarded» because that’s how good it was. I really still am bitter about it. And the service was nice, both pretty ladies genuinely smiling. Oh and you get a free drink with your order, and also the prices are way off online! It’s way cheaper when you go there. Including their truffle and burrata sandwiches.

The« Unilocal deal» is not exclusive to Unilocal — it’s the same deal they offer at the restaurant. That being said, the deal is still pretty good. I came here yesterday with my friend Tiff, who has raved about their prosciutto and cheese panini. We ordered one to share since the sandwiches are so big! $ 10 is a steep price to pay for a sandwich, and I wouldn’t come here unless I decided to split one. Truth be told, I’d probably pick another sandwich joint if my stomach was running on empty. I am a huge fan of prosciutto, and their Parma(#1) sandwich did not disappoint. Whatever cheese they paired with it really complimented the prosciutto’s saltiness. Top notch ingredients.

This review is for the sandwich alone. I stopped by before running to the train. I was starving and saw the check-in Unilocal offer, which I didn’t need in the end. All sandwiches come with a soda. I got the Parma(#1) sandwich on a baguette. Bread was fresh. They took a little while to warm up my sandwich. The lady preparing it was carefully slicing a giant slab of prosciutto. I had to run out after I got it, but could not help myself and sat on a bench outside and inhaled half of it. You know a sandwich is good when you can’t stop saying: «Hmmmmmm,» and«oh, yeah.»

Bravo to the 20something year olds for starting up their own sandwich shop. I give cred to anyone in the restaurant business. I was feeling particularly ill one day and thought maybe some substantial food in my belly would help. Something not too heavy and fast like a sandwich, perhaps? We ordered just 2 custom sandwiches via Eat24 for a whopping total of $ 40. I promise our sandwich orders were not complicated– but 1 ½ hours later they royally botched up one of them. This order was quoted for 35 mins but it took 1 hour and 35 minutes. I called when it was 50 minutes in and they said it was on its way and should be there in 5. I called again 20 minutes later nearly feeling faint and he said he would call the delivery guy to make sure he dropped out off first. Unbelievable. There’s an option on both seamless and eat24 to order your meal hot or cold. My boyfriend ordered his hot, it came cold. He ordered extra meat(prosciutto) and had one thin layer. He asked for spicy sauce and no olive oil and it came with olive oil. Half his sandwich was missing mozzarella even. My sandwich came as ordered. I got the prosciutto and spicy salami cold with EVO, tomato and mozzarella. This place has decent baguette sandwiches but honestly these guys need to work on their consistency and service.

This little mom and pop italian sandwich shop is perfect for those who appreicate fresh italian ingredients and want more than just a ham and cheese sandwich. I always get #2(prosciutto, mozz, and olive oil + arugula) and Im always pleased. At 10 or more dollars(up to 30) per sandwich it definitely isn’t cheap by any standards, but if you are one who appreciates good food, it is worth every penny. You also get a free canned beverage with your sandwich. If you want something cheaper, there is a Subway up the street. Highly recommended.

I finally ordered some food-food from here: a Bologna sandwich($ 10), an Amalfi sandwich($ 13),(a free can of Coke, Diet Coke, Arizona Iced Tea, Ginger Ale, or Water included) and a Tuna Salad($ 10); while the service and the ingredients were still top-notch, our sandwich fillings were minuscule. My Amalfi sandwich was mostly bread, tomato and arugula. I actually combined the fillings from both halves into one. But, the tuna in it was really good, still pink even, definitely not Bumble-Bee– but they didn’t really do anything to it. I think it was the olive oil variety straight out of the can/bottle. This was also the case for the salad. All salads are basically the salad of the day, mixed greens, sun dried tomato and cherry tomatoes(in the display case) with whatever special meat or cheese added on. So today’s tuna salad was the salad of the day with tuna. The menu says they add olive oil and himalayan pink salt, but I couldn’t detect any further seasoning and it looked like there was enough oil from the tuna for them not to need to add more to the salad. Everything was fresh. The Italian sundried tomatoes added a surprisingly welcomed sweetness to the salad, but their mixed greens was romaine and I ended up having to add some vinegar and pepper for a little more dimension. My father’s sold on their fatty meats(proscuitto, mortadella, salame, bresaola), though he might ask them for extra(+$ 2) the next time or he might just order a meat platter, but for the price, I feel there should be more fillings. I don’t think I’ll order sandwiches from here again.

Came back here for another panini fix. I am so pleased with the simplicity of this place. My sandwich was neatly made and each ingredient’s quality and flavor shined. Every person who worked here was polite and friendly. Such a quiet, clean and pleasant place to relax and have a nice casual meal that makes you feel like you’re in Europe instead of bustling NYC.

Walked into La Paneneria, this cute little Italian sandwich shop. At first I was getting the Capri sandwich but I opted for the Burratta sandwich because I love Burratta. There’s nothing like oozing mozzarella cheese. It’s the best! So I got the sandwich and it was awesome. It made me feel like I was on vacation in Italy. I will be back for more!

I was looking for a new sandwich shop for lunch and came across La Panineria. There were a lot of sandwiches to choose from and not all had an explanation. I asked the man behind the counter what the supermario was? He explained in a very nice Italian accent that it was Prosciutto, Salame, Mortadella, and Fresh mozzarella with some extra virgin olive oil. He might of used some fancier terms for the meats, but you get the picture. The sandwich was a bit expensive coming in at $ 15, but it sounded so good I decided to give it a try. I was delighted that the sandwich was as a good size for my hungry stomach. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Especially the mozzarella. Oh the mozzarella. It was so good. I had to take some out of the sandwich to try on it’s own. This was some primo mozzarella. I’m glad I gave La Panineria a try. This will be a treat for myself when I decide to splurge for lunch.
