Wow, what an amazing place to have a post-Thanksgiving dinner with all your friends and some of your loved ones. I had been dying to come here for weeks and now here I was, one of the very first customers for a soft opening night. I was let in by the doorman, who personally escorted me in, which was a nice touch. Upon entering, I was hit with the smell of the amazing food. Since it’s a small place, and the kitchen is right there, you can’t help but smell the food. But oh what joy it was to smell. When you walk in, the kitchen is on the right, and the dining area is on the left. They actually had a few couches where people can just lounge around in to relax. And the beers they served included Stella and Hoegaarden, which are pretty much the two best bottled beers anyway, along with so many bottles of wine. So already it’s a great start to the evening. One by one, my friends started to arrive and we finally got to eat. My faves included homemade stuffing, which was about the most amazing stuffing I have ever had. It’s an original recipe by the owner, Nina, and it tasted like it was made with that secret ingredient — love. It was so, so, so, so good. And that it came out piping hot also helped. Also, the stuffed shells were really good, as was the lasagna. My compliments to sous chefs Karen and Denis because they personally came around, as did Nina, to make sure that everything was okay and that we had everything we needed. And of course the turkey was juicy and muy delicioso. Oooh, and they also had those little pigs in blankets, which were so cute I didn’t even want to eat it. Again, it was one of the most amazing meals I’ve had in a long time. And I just had White Castle recently, so that’s saying something. And I categorized it as «soul food» because it was food good for the soul. Though I hear that chicken and waffles is a probable for the menu in the future. CASHONLY.
