this is my go-to delivery place. to be fair i have only tried about ¼ of the items on their menu. i’ve narrowed down to 6 i love: 1. rotisserie chicken — the best! $ 8.50 2. rice and bean — to go with the chicken for dinner for 2. $ 3.50! 3. chorizo huaracha 4. taco with everything 5. pozole 6. guac delivery time varies from 10 minutes to 40 but it’s quick most of the time. i miss their old dingy location though.

Ordered the chicken burrito for takeout. Was pretty fast and a very large portion for the price. Nothing out of this world or amazing, just a nice big burrito.

Solid but not spectacular cheap Mexican joint. Got the $ 7 lunch special, torta was very tasty, taco was good but not mind-blowing.

Where this place does shine and why I do keep ordering is because the tortillas a freaking amazing on their own! I think they get fresh them from the tortilleria that stocks their bodega(La Guadalupana) a few blocks north. Here’s how you get the best bang for your buck: 1. Torta w/an Agua fresca 2. Tacos 3. Mexican breakfast — so cheap! Get the huevos con chorizo, and keep the tortillas coming… though they don’t seem to have coffee anytime I’ve gone so plan ahead. 4. A platter. I like the one with the nopales but any of them will do. They come with a stack of those yummy tortillas. The service is lame both over the phone and in person. I speak Spanish fluently, was raised by a waitress, and was a waitress my self in college so this is not a language barrier issue or an entitled customer issue, the lady at the register just seems to not seem to care about anything other than getting your order, taking your money, and making sure there’s a tip. She’s actively rolled her eyes at me when I asked a question about the menu… forget her. The food itself is nothing special and honestly(from the perspective of an L.A. Mexican who HAS, I repeat HAS found great Mexican food in NYC) the food here is not at all special, well made(the soggy enchiladas come to mind), or even well seasoned(rice & beans) but it’s a decent, moderately priced Mexican option in the area and you can find some nice items.

I got the chorizo burrito and I enjoyed it. It’s cheap and the burritos are huge. Definitely recommend it. The service was pretty fast as well. The people were nice.

The food is pretty great but the ordering for delivery process is awful. They always sound like they’ve had the worst day of their lives and they rush you… If you’re going to take someone’s phone number, you need to try to get it right, so slow it down.

Delicious veggie tacos, roasted chicken, chicken nachos, and fresh juices, among other things. Great service too! A neighborhood institution.

Chicken and guacamole are awesome. I use to just order the tacos, tortas, and the chips and guac, now I try everything. Thumbs up!

The Enchilada(spicy pork) Nachos. They speak for themselves, so I’m not going to write anything else. Bomba

Just had the worst experience of my life with a restaurant in this neighborhood. One would think that with the scarcity of options that are available the ones that are here would treat you better, but in this case it seems they have taken this as free license to be rude. I ordered food this evening for my family and was assured that the food would be there within 30 minutes. I ask if it was possible to have it sooner and they said it shouldn’t be a problem. After about 45 minutes I went outside to wait for the food. I finally(over an hour) got a phone call from the delivery guy saying he was here, which he was not. I explained the situation and he hung up on me mid sentence. I called in to the store and they treated me with the same indifference. At one point they ask if I would like to come to the store in person to pick up the order. Please bear in mind that they deliver to this address regularly. They offered a very small discount which I agreed to. After about another 20 minutes the delivery guy finally arrived. He explained that he was sorry that he was late but he had been sent by the restaurant to a different address somewhere not even close. He had to go back to the store to be given the right address. At this point I called back again and ask them if they could do any better than the meager discount they had offered. As soon as I called the restaurant the delivery guy took the food and walked out. The woman said she didn’t have time to waste talking to me and hung up on me. I have worked in the service industry myself, but when you call with a valid complaint and get mocked it really makes you question why it was all necessary. A little courtesy can go a long way, hopefully they will change their tune, but until then I would caution anyone from venturing near this establishment.

I had the lunch special for $ 7.50. Included a torta, a taco and a can of soda. I tried the pork torta, which had lettuce, tomato, mayo, avocado and jalapeños. It was pretty good. I also had the chicken taco. It was wrapped in 2 small soft tacos and they threw in a lime and a side of green salsa. Overall, the place was clean and service was good. I would definitely come back here again.

I ordered sopes which are thick handmade tortillas with a layer of beans sour cream and your choice of meat. You should try them«Al Pastor» which is roasted diced pork with bits of pineapple. Hooray hooray Mexican Coca-Cola! My friend ordered the beef steak with onions some guacamole beans rice the meat was juicy tender and it’s a meal big enough for two people, Or one hungry hungry man. Cash tips only!

I’m so happy they reopened!!! The new location looks like your typical tidy takeout joint with several two-person tables. Grand reopening was this past Friday evening. Tonight, I ordered carnitas and chicken tacos and poblano tamales for pickup. They were ready in less than ten mins and the price only went up a little bit(seems the tacos are more packed with meat/veg, though)! Delicious as always.

They’re open again after renovations. Opening night features a full mariachi band along with complementary tequila shots and tamales! Décor has certainly spiffied up and food is still delicious!

They have reopened a few doors down from where they were. This place is great if you are in the mood for authentic Mexican. I am happy to be their first customer this time around!

The neighborhood’s gentrifying rapidly and a few shops on the block have shuttered their windows. La Fiesta is moving to around 160th and Broadway in 2 weeks(see this review’s date), according to the delivery man, but is still taking phone orders for delivery. Prices are much higher than on the Unilocal menu. A guacamole is $ 5 and while the chips are definitely homemade, they glisten over the entire surface like no others I’ve seen, testifying to the oils they’re soaked in and made from. Half a roasted chicken now costs $ 4. Well done and juicy, but Costco gives a whole chicken for a dollar more. I wish I’d others’ appetites but for me the portions are not big enough to justify the price. Not a deal anymore but I wanted to try it once.
