So. Good. The drink menu is larger than the food menu! They have an amazing selection of beers, both local and from around the world. The food is fantastic. Steak tacos were fresh and flavorful. Octopus ceviche was light and citrus-y, perfect for summer. The goat cheese fritters were heavenly. Overall ambiance is great too, it’s a very quaint place. Highly recommend this place!

I have not come back here in a while but I needed to impress some family members with the best rendition of Peruvian tapas in the city. End result: complete success! I’m so glad to see familiar faces in the waiting staff and behind the bar. Miguel Angel is a great waiter. He is always on top of things and he knows what to recommend for craft beers. Allagash white and a table in the outdoor area please. No problem. With every great beer, there must be great food. You won’t be disappointed in this aspect. I would recommend the anticuchos(cow hearts, they taste like steak so don’t worry). Trust me its seasoning is amazing. The purple causa with avocado can make your day if you are looking for something light. They also have a great selection of empanadas too. My favorite is the baked Argentinian empanada. The filling is heavenly. Want a great place to have drinks and hang out? Well just step into la cerveceria and you can say life is good.

As a Peruvian, I got super excited when I heard about this place. My boyfriend loves International beer and I love food. The drink selection is just about the greatest thing ever. Drinks from just about what seemed like every country. Prime, honestly. Awesome atmosphere. Outside seating is available. Food did not impress me though. The«Peruvian ceviche» we ordered was not good, honestly tasted like it was influenced. Brussel sprouts were great, but the rocoto was too over powering. Should make it a dipping sauce instead. And the papas con aji and rocoto tasted like Taco Bell’s cheesy fiesta potatoes. I’d rather go to Pio Pio instead for the food. What is saving this place from giving them three stars is the variety in beer/wine/cocktail drinks. You have to experience it honestly. I had the banana bread beer and it was fab. Our waiter was great and our Groupon really helped us out a lot! Will definitely come back for drinks and atmosphere!

I’m a fan! La Cerveceria means ‘The Brewery’ in spanish. And this little gem definitely lives up to its name as it boasts an extensive beer menu. You can find beers from all around the world, including Gemany, Colombia and even Thailand. I tried Duvel from Belgium and Cusqueña from Peru. Both beers came in their own brand labeled glasses. Definitely a nice touch. The food was simply delicious. We were able to catch a table outside and enjoyed the vibrant feel of 2nd Ave as the sun set and business lights came on. We decided to go with 3 appetizers to share and scraped our plates clean! The steak tacos, Nachos mixtos and Fried cauliflower with melted cheese were all hits. If you enjoy the taste of cauliflower, this is a must try. Everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The service was also consistent and friendly. I’ll be coming back to try more beers.

Nearly every place around St. Mark’s on the weekend is busy, especially in the evening, and this place is no exception. Every seat was filled on Saturday night, from the tables inside to the bar to the outdoor seats they have under the awning. Fortunately, it didn’t take long to be seated for two of us. Just beware, there aren’t many large tables so on a busy night, a large party might not be the best idea but it’s certainly do-able as I saw a party of 10+ seated towards the front on my way out. In relation to how busy this place appears to be, it’s also a very loud area from wall to wall. Probably due to the fact that there are so many people that can be seated inside but there’s also background music playing. So if you intend on having an intimate date without having to raise your voice just to be heard, I’d advise elsewhere. On another note, I commend how well the waiters and servers appear to handle so many tables and people at such a busy time. While waiting to be seated or waiting for food to be served it appears they move so quickly and get things done. There only appeared to be about [up to] four servers but they were so scattered it took a little longer than expected to flag one down to take our order. The drink menu is enormous. The tapas and entrée menu isn’t as extensive but there’s still enough to choose from. Yuca fries: Yes, I’d recommend trying. They’re fried very well; they’re crisp and comes with three sauces to dip into. 3.5 /5 Fish tacos: I think you can do without; try something else. An order comes with three served on small soft taco tortillas. There wasn’t a noticeably large amount of fish from the looks of it. Aesthetically there were a lot more toppings — tomatoes, guacamole, etc. — that looked to fill it up. Once you bite into it and chew it around you can taste the fish but it wasn’t anything great. 2⁄5 Skirt steak(with a potato purée and mushrooms): If you’re to try anything, this will be it. It was cooked precisely how I asked and the bit of sauce that is served on it gave it an amazing flavor. The potatoes were good and tasted even better when eaten together with the mushrooms. 5⁄5 It was an ok dinner. It was nice to try it once but that’s probably all I need. The environment is much better for the bar and/or loud hangouts over drinks; not my particular cup of tea.

The BEST fish tacos I have ever had! Highly recommended. I also had the nachos which didn’t impress me much and were mediocre at best. As an appetizer we had the fried brussel sprouts and those were amazing as well, so overall the food was great. Great ambiance and the waiters were all very attentive and courteous. A great place to take a date.

One word: Amazing. I have been wanting to come here and I just happened to be near by and decided to stop by dinner. Very nice and trendy place, they even offer outdoor seating. I decided to have the steak tacos, and my boyfriend had the steak quesadilla. The tacos are on the smaller side but they are perfect because you get some potatoes on the side and they are to die for. The tacos were so good, they are definitely top 5 in NYC. I got to try the quesadilla and it was also pretty good. This is a place i will be coming back to. Thanks La Cerveceria, you have great food and a great place.

Packed house on a Wednesday night. Service, top-notch as usual. All the servers and bartender are super friendly and although we don’t go often, they always remember us and that is a nice touch. We had the PR style octopus ceviche which tasted fresh as do all of their other ceviches. The tuna tartare was our favorite. Unfortunately we were disappointed by the sautéed mushrooms over mashed Peruvian potatoes. The roasted brussel sprouts made up for it. There red sangria is perfection. On this visit we had their Ginger Summer, it’s a vodka, ginger, pomegranate drink with a kick. We also tried their passion fruit shot — deliciousness in a glass! This is definitely an east village must-try.

I was excited because they advertise as being Peruvian and Peruvian is one of my most favorites. But.… Tacos are not Peruvian. Quesadillas are not Peruvian. Nachos are not Peruvian. Little skewers of veal hearts are Peruvian, but not on the menu. Also missing: tacu tacu and chaufa. Drinks are fine, but menu is a disappointment. I’ll stick with my outer borough holes-in-the-wall to get my fix.

A lively, loud, chattering bar sandwiched between two other bars. The Peruvian ceviche was a light, tasty dish of fluke, tiger’s milk, lime juice, and large, round, pale-yellow Peruvian corn kernels. It was fresh and delicious. The ceviche was paired with hard plantain chips. I think the plantain chips actually took a little of the ceviche flavor away. The goat cheese cheesecake was a bit denser, drier, and less creamy than I expected. It was faintly«goaty» but not overpowering. The light, sweet dulce de leche sauce on top paired well with the cheesecake. There were four small halves of a strawberry on the sides. It was good but not a favorite. The service was quite nice and attentive, even sitting outside. There’s also heat lamps right under the outside awning. I wouldn’t mind coming back for more food though the portion is on the smaller side(for the price.)

Went with a group of 7 on Friday night. I didn’t see any availability on OpenTable but they were accommodating when I called a couple days earlier. 5 star for that. They put us at the corner of the restuarant, which was quite cramped and was definitely not fit for 7, but we made it work. They came to us with a «special menu» that’s $ 65 pp with 2 hours of open bar and a choice of 5 tapas that you can order multiple times but only those 5. since half of us are not drinking, we decided to go a la carte. We had the lobster guac(still really good), Puerto Rico and Ecuadorian ceviche, calamari, all 3 tacos(still really good), all 3 empanadas(fried), skirt steak, yuca fries, and nachos(omg so goooood). The food was overall good, 4 solid stars, with good variety and choices. I like the ambience and vibe.

Came here on a weekday night, plenty of seating available between 6−9pm. Service was fabulous. Food was excellent as well. Will be back. Accepts credit. –Yuca fries came w/side of 3 dips. Agree with reviews, they are the crunchiest yuca fries ever… I’m usually not a fan bc yuca fries tend to run dry and hard, but this had me sold. –Steak tacos — savory, comes with 3 pieces which are on the small size and almost feel bite sized. Fan of this, but wish the tacos were larger. –Beef empanadas — decent, comes with ajia marillo dip which reminds me of the mayo, siracha dip. –Tropical ceviche — ahi tuna with coconut milk, hearts of palm. Interesting yet delicious variation of ceviche.

It’s dark in here alright! The darkness added a certain feel to the ambience of the night. If you’re a beer guzzler, this spot is for you. The food was pretty good, my favorite were the goat balls of cheese. The nachos were on the dry bland side. Fish Taco’s were presented nicely, but still missing something I can’t exactly put my tongue on. The 3 of us decided to taste the steak tacos, they were pretty good. White Sangria was drinkable, almost good even! My friend said the Belgian beer did her nice. Kettle vodka with tonic was Kettle Vodka with tonic. I would return to try out the brunch.

Came in with my buddy Chip on a Saturday evening, seating was available outdoors(rare for a mid December with 60 degree weather). This was actually my first time sampling Ceviche, so I was excited to order that along with a few other interesting choices. To start we had the Lobster Guacamole, for $ 17 dollars even by NYC prices thats a bit steep, I joked that each plaintain chip we dipped into the avocado dip was worth $ 1 and toe at it slowly. It was actually quite tasty, especially when you added some lobster and shrimp bits with each scoop. The second course was 3 peruvian empanadas, filled with a healthy amount of chicken, raisin, onions and a sweet aji amarillo sauce. While you can probably get empanadas just as good from a food truck in the area, these certainly did not dissapoint. The final course was the ceviche which I had never tried. There were several choices, and the waiter suggested the Ecuoadrian style, that included more Lobster, shrimp and also calamari and onions. It was like a south american coleslaw with fish and it tasted very good. The cold lobster and fish went down as smooth as good sushi, and the amount of spice added was just right. This place was flirting with 5 stars, but the price I thought was a tad steep and the service, while starting off solid, by the end took almost 30 minutes to get the check. Nevertheless, my first Peruvian restaurant experience was a success and I would sample some other east and west village spots, but would certainly think about returning here, perhaps during a less busy time.

I loved the atmosphere with the great dark wall of international beer bottles. There’s a huge map above the bar where they marked the different countries of beers they have. Initially I thought La Cerveceria was a wine-focused restaurant, but they have an incomparable extensive list of beer. We ordered the first listed red blend wine that our waiter recommended. I really liked it. I’m usually a Malbec and Cabernet Sauvingnon lover but I wanted something slightly sweeter this day. I had taste of one of their Malbecs but I wasn’t loving it. Good thing I went with the red blend because it was really smooth and not«watered down” — I was so satisfied. I feel like guacamole can be reallyyyy good, or just really plain. I highly recommend getting the LOBSTER guacamole that’s served with plantain chips at La Cerveceria. Huge chunks of lobster is mixed in well with the smooth fresh guac. It was not salty, not too limey, and the portion was actually really big, $ 17. It is one of the memorable guacs in NYC and I’d totally get it again. The Tropical Ceviche that contains ahi tuna, coconut milk, avocado, hearts of palm was so refreshening, also served with plantain chips. It was certainly good but not the most memorable ceviches. The Argentinean empanadas was our last tapa we got. The empanadas are really stuffed in with beef. My favorite part of this was that it wasn’t heavy in oil. I don’t like my food too greasy and it’s not hard to find greasy empanadas-the ones from La Cerveceria is not like that at all. My friend and I weren’t extremely hungry and was satisfied with the wine already, so the two of us actually didn’t finish the ceviche. It wasn’t too loud and I loved the modern chill soft house music too. I will come back for brunch and happy hour soon!

A MUSTTRY!!! Been here two times now, each time I have had nothing short of an amazing experience! They just got their liquor license approved which means their drinks menu will change soon! The first time we had a tropical ceviche with coconut milk which was amazing! My taste buds were on vacation at the island! We accompanied this with the red sangrias, beware… These are also packing the alcohol! Today, I am here for brunch, eating the Tacu Tacu and having mimosas! this is an I testing dish which includes a meat gravy over eggs on rice which has so much flavor and is so filling! This is seriously addicting! totally worth the trip over from Long Island City! The real gems of Cerveceria is the ceviches(big servings btw) which are very well priced and come with plantain chips. these are not to be missed! we had the Ecuadorian style today, includes lobster chicks calamari corn and other ingredients! I have to say I still think the tropical one was my favorite. something about that count milk that just brought out the tangy flavor with the seafood. Almost forgot, we also tried the Panna Cotta desert. This was a very light version. I normally stay away from deserts as I reserve my sweet tooth for my margaritas, but this desert was light, creamy and the sweetness was only added by freshly cut strawberry and a light strawberry juice surrounding the desert. This was definitely a great way to clean the palate… The shaved almonds at the top were the perfect accent flavor. The desert was amazing. To be honest, it makes me wonder what other deserts I may have been missing?! Another big plus is the staff is very nice. very geared towards costumer service. both times I have been here, I have been treated like family, and even though It took a long time for my second visit, they still remembered me from my first and the food we ordered. It’s always good when you can go somewhere and they remember you. This is a great place for a first, second or third date! They have a huge selection of beers from all around the world so you can lay down, chill and be sophisticated with a ceviche or go for a glass of wine! The music is low, if full, it can be a bit chatty, but in the best of ways. definitely will be back manny more times! Keep up the good work Cerveceria!

La cerveceria exceeds my expectations at every corner. Service. Food. Drinks. Atmosphere. They’ve got it all! We tried both brunch and tapas here. Definitely try the lobster guacamole and the tropical ceviche. For brunch the tacu tacu and the white egg frittata with quinoa were delicious. The pan a cotta — one of their many desserts — was so smooth and very decadent. The strawberries it is served with ads just the right amount of sweetness and the almonds just the right amount of crunch. While they mainly serve wine and beer(including sangria and mimosas!!!), they are getting their liquor license very soon, so we are excited to come back and see what’s next! The ambience provides a very romantic time for their guests but also can be great for just hanging amongst friends and /or family. I really enjoy coming here and look forward to trying many more new dishes from their menu.

Don’t trust the high 4 star review. After looking more in depth at the Elite Unilocaler’s reviews, I had super low expectations. My boyfriend told me to stop being pessimistic because we were forced to go here for a family member’s birthday. After dinner, we both agreed that the Elite Unilocaler’s poor reviews were completely accurate! The ONLY part of the experience that deserved a high rating was the service and large selection of beer. The servers were sweet and very accommodating. Drinks: The drink menu is HUGE and so overwhelming. A plus is that they allow you to sample their draft beer. It took us nearly 15 minutes just to decide on a drink. I ended up going with the summer ginger cocktail, which was really well made! We HAD to try one of their fruit beers. We went with the cherry flavor and it tasted like a mix between wine/beer. The feedback was mixed. Some people at our table loved it, while others hated it. Food: The definition of mediocre. Don’t even bother trying the yuca fries. they’re sooo dry! The *3 cheese* empanadas were really good at first, but quickly became disgustingly heavy. The only dishes that I recommend is the fried cauliflower and goat cheese cheesecake dessert. Ambiance: It’s nice, but nothing unique. We also found the space pretty cramped. Overall, I would definitely not recommend that anyone go here. The food is not worth the prices at all. You can find MUCH better tapas in NYC for a lower price.
