Loved the food, went with a group of 4 and we were all raving about the taste of it. However, the service is horrible! We weren’t seated for about 20 minutes which is fine because it was busy, but when we were we didnt event get a waitress for another 20 minutes! The waitress was rude and didn’t even apologize about the wait! The food was definitely not worth it! Won’t be going back.

Visited this place last night with some friends for dinner, drinks, hookah & some good laughs! Had the salami mofongo while my two other friends had the churrassco & chuletas with rice. All cooked to perfection. No mofongo sauce which is odd but the taste alone was great nonetheless. Hookah can only be smoked downstairs in the lounge area(which makes sense considering the upstairs & middle portion had more families enjoying dinner. Originally seated upstairs our waiter was kind enough to move us accordingly. Even for a Sunday night this place gets really festive after 9pm with the lights dimming & merengue music blasting. Service was great all throughout & food again was delicious. Only downside is hookahs are $ 30 to use & $ 15 to refill, really expensive. Nonetheless I had a great time & I’ll be back to experience the night life more!

The food was delicious. We had the chicahron de pollo, tostones, rice and beans, and Mofongo con pollo guisado. Again delicious! They lost one star because for appetizer I would have liked to see pastelillos/empanadas, arepas, rellenos do papa, etc.(frituras). Also the food is expensive. We will come again.

Thw food is good but the service is horrible, i been there multiple times but mostly i always have a bad experience with the female waitresses, They are very rude to you, even to order lunch over the phone. Not saying all of them are like this but every time i want to order from them or eat there, most od the time i prefer not to just to not deal with the bad service.

Great service. Quick and on point. The fact that its 24h is a plus. I recommend the Tres Leches as a way to end your meal.

This place had bad service and mediocre food. It is also EXTREMELY overpriced. The only benefit is that this place is open late so you are able to get something to eat after a night out. I ordered the shrimp salad which was $ 28. It came with only 13 shrimp but thankfully there were not over cooked. They also had overpriced order of wings. Which was $ 13 for 6 small wings.

For the past few years all my inquiries about the best mofongo in New York led me here. Today I was about to do good on my promise to a friend to visit. First off parking around here is impossible. Even the car lots were filled and if my wife was not willing to double park I would have left. I opted to take out and this has to be one of the most disorganized place I have been too. I was not acknowledge when I walked in and I asked two servers about ordering takeout and the both pointed to different people. Finally I placed the order and the food came out quicker than expected. My anticipation did not allow me to take the food to the car so I immediately opened the bag and dug in. I throughly enjoyed the mofongo. The shrimp was Lighty seasoned and sautéed with a nice portion of Sauce that complimented the mofongo. I would visit again if I was in the area but the parking makes it highly unlikely I would do the commute from Brooklyn to Washington heights just for it.

Had the Mofongo with Churrasco and my friend had the Mofongo with Pernil. Both were great. Good amount of food. The only thing I do not like is the noise. We were sat in the quieter area of the restaurant and it was still pretty loud… it is The Heights lol. Staff is friendly. Food came out fairly quickly. It is the best spot for Mofongo that I’ve been to.

One star for the food which was not bad. SERVICESUCKS!!! Lord they are so unprofessional, the most ridiculous and incompetent group of people. And since many others said the same thing I’m sure you can assume it’s all true. Don’t waste your time, you’ll be left completely unsatified and pissed off.

The food was amazing, my wife had the mofongo with shrimp and ceviche was so good. The bar area and restaurant are separated but can hear music from bar in reaturant which made it more fun, was with a child so had to just eat and leave. Baby loved the mofongo too, lol.

I thought this place would be a small, cozy restaurant, but the space is huge and tacky. The mofongo was wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that great either. We ordered three kinds: Longanisa(Filipino Sausage), Camarones(Shrimp), Bacalao(codfish). The best one was the codfish stew because the mofongo was soaked in the sauce of the codfish stew. The codfish itself is shredded instead of in large pieces, but it was surprisingly really tasty. The longanisa and shrimp itself was good, but you need a lot of sauce to swallow the mofongo. Sauce for the shrimp was very garlicy. Service was not that great. We asked for water for our group of 5, but they only gave us 3 glasses of water and 3 plates. Food came out pretty slowly and the waitress who took our order in the beginning went missing and started servicing other tables. There are a lot of options for the mofongo, but I think the plantains taste better with something saucy or more stew-like to counteract the dryness.

This was my go to spot when it first opened and I worked in the area. Good lunch special which is tasty and good portions. Their food has always been spot on. I go for Bistec Encebollado, with Moro de Guandules(rice with peas), and their Mofongos are good. Ladies love the Mofongo de Camaron(shrimp mofongo) *History Lesson Alert: Mofongos are Crushed fried plantains with garlic and spices and pork inside. I believe created in Puerto Rico, but is a very common dish available in any Dominican restaurant. The BAD: If it’s late night this place gets loud!!! I am accostumed to loudness, but I remember being here on a date on a Sunday evening and our table was shaking. My date was from a quiet town in Maine and she had no idea what the heck was going on and was overwhelmed by the atmosphere. I lied and told her/shouted to her this was a restaurant for people who were hard of hearing and that’s why the music was 4 levels louder than it should be. Service can also be slow at times, because many people frequent this place, because of their tasty food and decent pricing although it has gone up a bit over the years.

215am. And the food and atmosphere is great. I drove an hour to eat real Spanish food. And I was not disappointed. This is the real deal. And I’m coming back.

I can’t comment on what this restaurant is like during the day, but everything can be live in Washington Heights. I’ve only appeared here late at night when that 4th dinner is begging to be eaten after a late event revolving around …*ding ding* booze. At this point I must sound like a drunk with all my reviews but I think my experience here holds some validity. On a Friday or Saturday night past 4am this place is packed with hordes of drunks still in party mode or just craving to eat. You’ve got the local drug dealers here mixed with plenty of women who look gorgeous or sloppy trying to look gorgeous. Alot of the time they are also leaning over table with their heads pressed into an empty plate from too many shots of Brugal. Sometimes it’s almost hard not to be fixated on these beauties, but they are the same ones I have nothing in common with other than wanting to dance to some Aventura hits. Nevertheless, good eye candy. I tend to order the same thing here over and over with a friend of mine. Plus it seems like the right thing to order when we don’t wanna spend too much and will split the damn cost. This meal is fried cheese, boneless fried chicken, and white rice n beans. Not exactly a special choice but it works for us dammit. I don’t need fillet mignon when it doesn’t take too much to cater to me at 4am. Generally, all the food seems pretty good, and they have a smaller buffet style section. There’s actually a bar connected to the restaurant which is pretty much a lounge before 4am that I’ve only experienced once. It gets pretty damn packed here, so if you’re trying to get a seat. TRYTOSHOWUPEARLY. As in before 4am. The entrance looks like a damn line to get on a ride at Great Adventure if you’re too late.

Mofongo is the specialty here. Think of a big plate of mashed plantains, made into a ball… it is stuffed with chicken/pork/etc… they have 10+ different options. I come here when friends that want to try mofongo, the rest of the food is ok, not that great. Try for lunch or early dinner, it can get packed at night. And there will be music, loud music during dinner hours(I don’t mind it, but good to know). There are a lot better places for Dominican food in the heights, but the mofongo here is consistent and they have a lot of options.

It was super crowded on a Sunday night, but our group of 5 was seated within 10 minutes. The space is large, but we were seated right under the steps so it had little head room and servers kept bumping into our table. My sister got hit in the head with a bread basket by a frantic, busy waitress(by mistake of course). Not acceptable but it was a funny sight to see, for me at least. All jokes aside, the service is non-existent, but I didn’t expect much. No smiles, no napkins, no utensils, no acknowledgment. One thing I know about my people is that they are not friendly. However, the food was good and came out rather quickly and the portions were generous. Great mofongo but def not worth trekking it up to the heights from Brooklyn.

One of my favorite places in the Heights for Mofongo! We all came here on Sunday to have an early dinner after a morning of fun.(Of course my suggestion since it had such great memories… and some sad ones due to its location relative to others in the area). Here’s what we had: –Mofongo de Pernil –Mofongo de Camarones –Tacos –Chicharron de pollo Of course no dessert because we were full. The service is a little slow but always nice. Great thing about this spot is that you can order for delivery, you can come and order take out or you can sit and have a full blown sit down dinner. Not only that but the music is one of my favorite parts. Lots of Salsa Colombiana, Mana, Juanes and of course Bachata. Bitter sweet but fun time.

The food is delicious! We ordered the following mofongos and they were all great: Churrasco, bacalao, bistec, and shrimp. My personal favorite is the bistec one, but you be the judge. Took a star off because the prices seem to be off, and bc the waitresses could improve on charisma. Other than that, great place!

It’s an amazing sight to see(and hear) practically the entire restaurant break out in song La Casa Del Mofongo, in the later evening hours(with enough booze) will definitely guarantee you this opportunity. Besides this display of Latino camaraderie, the restaurant is pretty much a flop. The Casa Del Monfongo: the self proclaimed home of Mofongo(deep fried green plaintains, crushed and mixed with your choice of meat or seafood) is pretty meh. No really. I can find better mofongo just down St. Nick or Broadway. The mofongo itself is usually way too dry(like it was fried hours ago instead of just when you ordered it) the meat. I have to admit is usually. and the sauce(or lack there of). Where’s the damned sauce? Oh, and what’s up with the«secured» payment booth by the door? It’s like you’re trying to hide the cash register behind some cheap plexiglass. Anyhoo, not the place for me. Maybe for others… but I’d rather go to Mambi.

You don’t have to go back Home to Dominic Republic to taste a good Mofongo, This place make me fell like I am in a DR Restaurant. A mofongo a populate disk in DR is made up of smashed plantains along with your choice of chicken, pernil(pork), shrimp, cheese, chicharron etc and the juices which the meat/seafood was cooked in. I order the chicharron one with some avocado in the side. The mofongo was excellent with large chucks of pork. It was sweet with just the right amount of saltiness from the pork. The chicharron was also delicious. The meat was savory and the skin was fried crispy without being burned. I also order a fresh and natural Chinola Juice that was very good. The server was excellent.
