Very nice brunch spot in Chelsea. Their salads looked delicious, but we went for the mushrooms scrambled eggs and the salmon eggs Baltic. Both delicious. And don’t forget to check their desserts to go at the entrance…

Le Bergamote is one of my favorite places. The beauty, large selection and quality of the pastries, bread and delicious meals in this somewhat intimate restaurant makes Le Bergamot a French treasure in Chelsea.

Had lunch with a colleague here and I loved it! I got the Chicken Aioli — it had grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella(or maybe gruyère?), pesto, tomato, avocado and a side of salad. Yum! Don’t miss the desserts too. I recommend getting chocolate bombe, opera and napoleon. All desserts good for sharing!

Went to buy a Gallette du Roi. The staff was scattered, and there was already a lady complaining about the service at the counter. I ordered a small gallette for $ 38, but apparently that’s not enough for me to have it packaged in a box. 1st and last time I visit. Le Financier may be commercial, but the service is #onfleek and their gallettes come in a BOX.

Average dining experience but good atmosphere. Restaurant is located in chelsea area so food is on the pricier side — but not terrible. We got eggs Benedict, chives scrambled eggs, french toast, almond chocolate croissant. The food was very good for my friends who got the eggs benedict and french toast. I had the scrambled eggs which was average at most. The french toast was supposed to be very good — but every single brunch place I’ve been to boasts about their french toast. The portion is also expensive $ 12 – 13 for ONESLICES. Coffee was also average — no refills. I might come back again to try the pastries but I am not too impressed. There are better brunch places.

Really quite excellent for lunch. Croque Monseur were good. Mergeuz sandwich was nice and spicy and had a pleasantly crunchy baguette. Good coffee and crème brulee as well. Glad we went out of our way to come here

French toast topped with a raspberry syrup and fresh berries… YUM! This place is AMAZING! My husband and I enjoyed the French toast and a latte for breakfast this morning. The service from Andrew was superb and the food tasted decandent! Our waters were never less than half full and the latte was made to perfection. The perfect amount of foam. Thank you for the SUPERIOR service Andrew! We will be back for some delicious pastries and more French toast!

Great place for pastries and coffee. Staff is very warm and accomodating. I recommend the French Toast. I will be coming here again soon.

Both locations seem to have issues with staffing, and those staffers being available for customers… took 5 minutes for someone to show up to take our order, during which 3 people left and another one stood there pissed. After all that it certainly wasn’t worth the wait for an awful, overpriced & underfilled $ 3.81 chocolate croissant.

Hadn’t read any of the reviews — instead popped in with a friend who had dined at La Bergamote several times before. What a lovely surprise. We arrived around 11 am Sunday and the place was packed. However, it didn’t take long to be seated. The waiter was excellent — service top notch and food arrived quickly and was delicious, nicely plated, average portions, you know like we used to eat eons ago — before super sizing came about, oh and not over priced. Definitely a great value. The dining room is small and intimate so if your children are noisy or uncontrollable, this is not the spot for you. The owner was present and checking on guests. Always a good sign. I highly recommend La Bergamote @ 9th Ave and look forward to returning.

Food-5 Set up-2 French toast– amazing as described, it’s like a mildly custardy, but solid exterior almond crunch, just an amazing creation unlike anything I’ve ever had. And I don’t like typical French toast. It’s VERY pricey though for one slice($ 12?) Omelette w herbs– outstanding, plenty of fresh herbs without being overpowering. A nice layer of cheese to add some saltiness. The eggs were cooked medium so there was still a little bit of runny egg mixture, which I wasn’t particularly a fan of. The potatoes that came with it were also really amazing and precisely spiced. Hot chocolate — this was outstanding, it didn’t taste like any nasty premade syrup or any powder, it wasn’t overly milky, you could actually taste the chocolate and it was sweet. Excellent job. Service– our waitress was a sweetheart. She was very busy and had missed part of an order at the table next to us, it was unfortunate because the woman at their table had a hissy fit at the poor waitress who Had profusely apologized and was honest about why it was missed(she just got so busy). The waitress took the abuse and gracefully tried to do what she could to make it right instead of retaliating. It is a little chaotic trying to request a table. We had been waiting to have someone seat us and then a group of four elderly women(see pic) walked in about 10 minutes after and just made their way and took two tables of which patrons were just finishing up their meals without even asking to be seated. So we ended up having to wait longer for a table to open up. So I guess if you go there don’t bother trying to put your name down just go standby the table that looks like they’re leaving, who cares if others got there before you.

Everything is sooooo good! Fresh good quality and it makes my body feel good and nourished. I’ve thrown many Dinner parties here and they even put together a prix fixe menu me! Such great people to work with to create something special.

Good, small, and reliable are the three words that come to mind when I think of brunch here. The food is very good, it comes out on medium white plates and you think«wow this is really not a lot of food huh» but then you bite into it and its so good that you almost don’t mind that for $ 14 you were given A piece of french toast. It is such a rich dish, between the berry sauce, the whipped cream, and the thick brioche slice, the portion you’re given is on the verge of being sickly sweet. It’s good food, just wish it was less rich and more food.

Came in on Friday around 6pm after a walk at the High Line nearby with my hubby. It was quiet and stayed pretty quiet by the time we left at 8pm. The food and service were pretty good, so I’m surprised that there weren’t more people. The décor was quaint and familiar, what you would expect from a bistro. When you first walk in, you’ll find a take-away pastry counter. Walk a little further in and it’s the dining area. Every thing we ordered was pretty good, pâté appetizer, brioche burger, duck confit, and a chocolate dessert. The confit was pretty good with skin light and crisp and the fat was rendered out just right. I’d go back for that.

I went here recently with a group of 6 for Sunday brunch. It a small restaurant with a warm environment. When you first enter into the restaurant you get a view of their pastries from the counter. As the waiter greeted us he indicated that we would have to wait a little bit for him to make accommodations for our large group. Throughout our experience our waiter was very polite and professional. Once we got seated we reviewed the menu which was very simple. As we were ordering our waiter took the time to make recommendations and ask what our particular preference was. I ordered the Chive Scrambled Eggs, which comes with a couple fruits and a small salad. I would highly recommend this dish. Also our waiter indicated this is one of the most popular. The flavors of this particular dish were just right. Please note that the sides that were and additional charge were on the smaller side even thought they were $ 4 a piece. The prices were somewhat high, but average for the area. The service and professionalism of the staff was great. Overall this is a wonderful establishment and i would come back. It should also be noted that this establishment is very clean, this includes their restrooms. The views expressed are of my own and are my true personal experience at this establishment. My personal experience may not reflect this actual establishment, their quality or someone else’s experience at the establishment.

Really great food. Friendly cute servers but sometimes slow, but it is the French way of eating.

Oh my god, the breakfast/brunch served here is even more enticing than the stuff in the case, if you can believe that. Kids, look no further for a delicious French dining experience. I had the chive scrambled eggs, which held their own, but I kept getting distracted by my friend’s meal. She had the almond brioche french toast and it is probably the best I’ve had — seriously to die for. Both dishes were served with tasty seasonal berries and all of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I’m definitely getting that french toast next time.

If you want something sweet to take away, you can stop by here. The food menu doesn’t have a wide selection. It used to be very good and I used to come here a lot, but the service is so bad and has gotten even worse with the years, that we just can’t stand sitting here any longer! Plus, this place is expensive!!! The sandwiches are definitely not worth their price!

5-Stars for the Pastries/Bakery 4-Stars to 3.5-Stars for the Food I’ve been around long enough(since 1999) to remember the old La Bergamote location across the street, where Bocca di Bacco is now, so I think I know this place well, and can assure you that this is the Best French pastry/bakery in the city. It’s almost as good as pastries in Paris, but let’s be honest, nothing will ever be as good as it’s origin location. But, if you want a taste of Paris in NYC, then this is the spot for pastries. The food is very good as well, but there are better places for French bistro-type food(Le Grainne a block away for instance, Les Halles, etc.). The main reason to come here is for the pastries. Pastries have always been the focus here, even in the old location, there wasn’t a full sit-down food option, maybe a few sandwiches and that’s about it. So, stick to the pastries, unless you want to try something different and don’t feel like waiting at Le Grainne. And yes, the pastries can be expensive, but think about the amount of labor and quality of ingredients that go into each one. Over 20-years ago, when I didn’t have as much money, this was the place I came to buy a nice gift for someone, and still today, having done better in life, I still come here for special gifts for someone, or even myself.

Love buttery pastries. The cashier was super eager to please and very friendly. Too bad the almond croissant was cold and the buttery layers clumped together. Also seating was confusing. If you ordered in the front, you could only sit at window seating. You cannot order a pastry and sit at a table, like their Hell’s Kitchen location. If you sat in the back, you had to order via waiter. I appreciate the glasses of water and the beautifully displayed pastries. Also thanks, to the super sweet cashier for answering all the questions and making sure we didn’t sit in the wrong area.
