Amazing service! Perfect for before a show or a train. The boneless wings are delicious, and the steak sandwich is mouthwatering! Always a friendly staff! I often go when traveling to New York

Caesar salad and Sam Adam’s takes the edge off! Just needed something light to eat and a drink to relax while I wait for the train. The beer was excellent and the Caesar salad was really good. Really nice vibe to this place and nice to hear the Jamaican accents of the staff. If you have some time to wait for your next train definitely check this place out.

Friendly Bartender, she smiled though she was busy. The place had a ‘funky’, chemical smell while we were at the bar. Maybe a cleaning solution? Not sure, but dinged a star for that. Just got a couple of Guiness on tap, enjoyed them, and left to catch a train!

Great place to go before an event at MSG. We both had salads, which were plentiful. It’s in Penn Station, which I would also imagine is a good place to get a casual bite to eat if you’re taking a train somewhere.

Reasonably priced for Manhattan. Had the BBQ Beef Short Rib, and the sauce nicely walked the line between heat and flavor. The service isn’t tremendously polished(which can be taught), but it is genuinely friendly and welcoming(which can’t).

Good for a quick beer, friendly staff at bar. When it’s not busy. can’t go wrong with $ 4 Goose Island on tap!

Well, well, well, drinking underground isn’t that bad after all. I never thought I would enjoy drinking in a place without windows, but when you have a great bartender, it works out well.

Convenient stop for a quick meal before MSG. Had the Club Salad. Service was quick, food was ok. When in a rush it’s good enough.

Service was fast! Yes I ordered a salad but I’ve waaaaaaited for salads before. Don’t like to wait considering you never have to cook anything. Would have been nice if the chicken was a little warmer. Very cold plate. Nice touch that a manager or owner came out to see if everything was ok. Hostess looked bored and unwelcoming but hot as hell. I would come back to see her. ;) just don’t stand by the door with arms crossed. Beer and glass were great. Glass didn’t smell like garbage bag full of ass. And Brooklyn Lager seemed fresh and nicely Regulated. Pressure, fiz and all that good stuff. Btw. She’s got a raspy authorize voice. Very«Latina». Yup i would come back just to see her again.

Friendly staff, quick service, convenient location, and decent food and drinks. This place does what it needs to do: get you fed and boozed and to your train in time. Are you looking for top-notch food? Then leave Penn Station; you are in Manhattan, you will certainly find good eats somewhere. Are you looking to get lunch and a drink before your train? Then stop in to this place– you won’t be disappointed.

Total dive with average food and beer selection. This place has a ton of potential, but you’d be hard pressed to find anything great here. It’s more of a convenience than anything. The menu is DATED.

I was torn between three and four stars and had to go with four. Kabooz’s is conveniently located close to the Amtrak lines. It can definitely get packed, but had a cute little dining area outside of the restaurant if you’re looking to escape the crowd inside. My bestie and I were quickly seated at a tiny table near the kitchen, after escaping the monsoon of rain on the streets. This place definitely has too much going on in its menu, very overwhelming. When a menu has SO many options and such random variety, it just sends a message that rather than specializing in one area, they’re mediocre in many areas. Anyway, we started off with a refreshing beer. We ordered the brie in a puff pastry(heavenly, incredibly good!) We also ordered the thai mussels(tiny, but pretty good) and calamari(very good.) The portions are huge and we definitely couldn’t finish everything. I was impressed with the food and even more impressed by the professionalism of the staff. The waitress, chefs, even the manager checked up on us and provided outstanding service! Definitely not a bad place to grab a bite to eat or throw back some beers! Really impressed by the service!

This place is conveniently located and probably can serve a decent drink, but I had a delayed train and went for lunch and it was dreadful. The waiter was very nice and the service was prompt, but they have both food and ambience issues. Their«veggie chili» is a sickly-sweet thing with tomatoes and marinated peppers; it was inedible(and they quickly took it off my tab, which was good). Then I got a salad and the chicken was piping hot, thereby wilting some of the greens below. It was covered with some kind of flavoring, but the whole thing did not work. The music was so loud as to make conversation(or even reading) hard.

I grab a drink about once a week on way home. Or did: Tonight I stopped in. Ordered a Dewar’s from guy who is often behind bar and who took my order by pointing at me. I pay with a 20. He brings me back a buck. I politely inquire. He comes back with two fives and says, «I don’t remember you paying with 20, but here.» I tell him I’m not making things up and ask, «You recognize me, right?» He says yes«but I still don’t remember the 20.» I wasn’t lying — only had 20s after ATM stop. He says he’s not trying to offend me. I say that in fact he has but I hand him back a 5. He says keep your money. I say this is absurd. He says: «You are.» Unbelievable. Absolutely appalling.

I don’t know that I would ever eat here again but the staff was SO great. We had about half an hour until the next train, coming back from a long day at the Belmont and we were starving. We had contemplated walking away and grabbing a slice or two of pizza then the waiter asked if he could help us. We asked how long it would take for the food to come out because we had limited time. He seated us, and the food was out almost instantly after ordering. They must be used to stuff like that but it was great. We had waters and drinks and food, with some time to kill after we finished eating. It wasn’t bad quality either for the speed that they had to cook it in. would definitely recommend if you are looking for a spot in the train station to eat quick, good quality food. Definitely not fast food.

A convenient place that has a far warmer feel than the rest of Penn Station, but you will pay dearly for it: a beer costs $ 8 plus tip. I appreciate that they have the train status displayed prominently. They will also help you quickly most of the time. Recently, they gave me a severely chipped glass for my beer. The glass was broken in several places, and they did not so much as apologize when I brought it to their attention. A bar in a train station has a very simple job: give me beer while I’m waiting. There are only a couple ways to mess this up. Bad glassware is one, and bad service is another. I’ll probably be back now and then, but I’ll be sure to check my glass very carefully.

I walk past this location every Sunday on my way to/from church, and I always wanted to stop in and try some of the food. I’m glad that I finally did! Service was friendly, but not overly intrusive. Alex made sure that I had everything that I needed and that I was enjoying my meal. The bathroom was clean and stocked with plenty of soap and towels. The food was reasonably priced for a tourist spot in NYC and it was prepared well. Everything was delicious and as expected. I have no review of their specials or promotions, but I can say that when nothing special is going on they still treat you special. :)

I found this place while waiting to head upstairs for a recent concert at the garden. I had a pretty good burger and like noted in earlier postings, it was a bit pricey for what it was. It was very busy but got a table for 2 within 15 minutes and was served pretty promptly. Service was OK but the occasional roving manager refilled our drinks himself when our server got bogged down. Good place. I’ll have no problem going back if need be.

Ate lunch here while waiting for a train. The food was pretty uninspired, granted I wasn’t expecting much. Unilocal’s A-OK rating sums up this place pretty well. Its certainly conveniently located, right in the middle of the Penn. Station underground, and it doesn’t really rock the boat when it comes the food or service or presentation. Typical Bar & Grill/Diner stuff. The price is a little on the high side, but hey its NYC.

Its Penn Station, I wasn’t expecting«WOW». This spot is close to the Amtrak lines so its good for a quick bite. In my opinion it is too expensive however they may be catering to the«consultant crowd» who can expense everything or to the«starving wander» who’s trains got delayed. They do have a nice«outdoor seating area» in the front of the restaurant which provides a nice view of the terminal. Thank goodness because inside the main restaurant it was freezing… I would like not to feel like I’m in the Alps. I had the Tomato & Garlic Soup which was OK. I have had much better. It came with garlic bread tat tasted as if it had been microwaved a few times. I came here for a nonprofit board meeting so from that perspective it was good. The servers were concise and did not push the group to leave even though we were there for a few hours.
