This is a pretty decent spot to get dinner around NYU. Prices are very reasonable and the food is tasty. They do offer school discounts as well, so that makes it a go to graph lunch/dinner when in the neighborhood.

I stopped in today for a late lunch and there were a couple people inside but no sort of rush or anything which was nice. The place is small but perfect size for its market I believe. I’ve been wanting to try a sushi burrito for the longest time since I saw them made popular in San Francisco by Sushirito. I ordered the volcano roll because it was simple and had everything I liked in it. I would say the burritos may be over priced because usually I don’t want to pay 12.75 for a quick burrito but I guess when you think that it is sushi and sushi isn’t always cheap that gives good reason to its pricing. Anyway, the burrito turned out to be pretty good! Not quite what I expected but good enough. I only ate half of mine and saved the other half for later which I think was a bad idea because I don’t have a fridge in my dorm complex so when I ate it the next time around it was warm and not as appetizing. The only thing I didn’t like about the burrito was the seaweed wrapping just because it was an odd texture for me. I would love to try this place again though! They have a lot of different options on their menu!

I came here after first hearing about the new fad dish… «The Sushi Burrito». I was very excited and when arriving already knew I was going to order the Sea Dragon Burrito. Didn’t expect it to be over $ 12 dollars though(given the one $ sign on Unilocal). Ended up being 15 dollars cause I was parched and needed a drink. Anyways the sushi burrito was pretty good(like a big sushi roll) however their was definitely a lack of sushi and filling and the majority of the roll was rice which was a bit disappointing. Now that I write all this I want to give it two stars lol but I won’t cause the sushi burrito did brighten up my day after taking an exam that day(and it didn’t taste bad it was pretty good).

Meh lotta rice little fish… Ordered the sea dragon and volcano and… Opened up the volcano and I could clearly only see the kani and what appeared to b spicy tuna… no spicy shrimp or lobster salad to be found. For $ 13 a burrito(ordered on seamless) whole lot of not much. Tasted great and glad rice was cooked properly but too much of it. Won’t try this place again. Feel like I got ripped off. Paid $ 13 for rice.

It’s a hard knock life nowadays ! So many places are advertised as these sensationally creative must-eats, so you end up with thousands of bookmarks on Unilocal an empty wallet and way too many food pics on your phone. We need a good filter! I’m here to do that for you. The sushi burrito tastes exactly like sushi, it’s just larger and you eat it with your hands. I don’t know why, but I was expecting something different– more saucy, more of a hybrid between chipotle and high end sushi. But nope, it’s just one large sushi roll with soy sauce(they didn’t even have wasabi) on the side. In short, I wouldn’t recommend unless you just want sushi in a different shape, but make sure you bring your own wasabi and pickled ginger.

Went here a while back since I wanted to be able to compare this to sushiritto in San Fran, which I believe opened before this. Came here one night since I wasn’t too full from a small dinner and wanted something quick. Long story short, the rice was hard, the fish themselves didn’t taste too fresh and being that it is essentially supposed to be a burrito it was most certainly not for the size of mine. The one that I had was more like an in between of a regular roll and a burrito. Seemed more like a spot for the NYU students around there to pick up a quick meal; but certainly didn’t feel like quality sushi and probably wouldn’t come back again seeing that I would be able to walk down a few blocks into St. Marks and get sushi rolls there.

At the sight of Onigiri, I decided to make a pit stop. Onigiri places are far and too few in between, besides Yaya Tea Garden, which I personally feel is pretty overrated. They also have sushi burritos here, which I wanted to try but would have to wait for next time. I got a Lobster rice ball, it was around $ 4. Not bad. The rice ball was too much rice and barely any lobster. They do make all their food on premises right after you order, so maybe it would be better next time.

Came here around 11:30 today on a Thursday with a friend. I was happy to see a 15% discount sign on the front door if you pay with cash. When we walked in, the lower tables that could fit up to groups of 4 were mostly all taken. There were only the higher tables with stools on the side left. I ordered a vegetable onigiri and yasai sushi burrito to share. The onigiri was delicious, with fluffy rice. It falls apart easily though since the piece of seaweed around it is pretty small. The sushi burrito was smaller than I thought and was more like a large sushi roll. It’s worth trying once but the price is not worth buying it frequently. The store is very clean overall. Bonus points for playing throwback K-pop songs(like 2NE1 amd Big Bang) the entire time! Tldr: 1. 15% Discount if you pay with cash on weekdays 11am to 4pm. 2. 10% discount for NYU students. 3. Sushi burrito is smaller than it looks but still yummy!

Came here to try out the sushi burrito, which has apparently been trending on social media lately(??). I got the Volcano burrito, which has spicy tuna, spicy shrimp, spicy lobster, imitation crab meat, avocado, seaweed salad, and spicy mayo sauce. You would think that with so many«spicy» ingredients inside the burrito that your mouth is going to be on fire after eating it but it actually ended up being not that spicy at all. The ingredients all blended together very well and even I, who usually isn’t a big fan of seafood, found the burrito to be quite delicious. The ratio of rice: ingredients also wasn’t too bad so they aren’t skimpy with the ingredients. I can’t say the same for the Spicy tuna onigiri though because it was mostly rice with a small dab of spicy tuna inside. It was very filling though but that’s not surprising since there was so much rice. As for the place itself, it’s located in the heart of the very trendy Greenwich Village. Everything was very clean and the décor looked very modern and vibrant. The workers were also very nice. One problem I have with this place is the menu. I noticed on Unilocal that there is an option for a cheaper smaller sized burrito but this option wasn’t listed on the menu at all and I ended up automatically getting the large sized burrito. Also, the onigiri weren’t on the menu either and I had to ask the cashier for them before he gave me an additional menu that had the onigiri. The prices are also pretty steep. The volcano burrito ended up being ~$ 12, which, while it was filling, is kind of pricy, and the onigiri was $ 4 which I would say is decent. Really wanted to like this place but the quality of the food doesn’t match the prices at all and the menu was too misleading. Note: You don’t have to be an NYU student to get the discount. As long as you have a student ID you automatically get the student discount.

THESEADRAGONISAMAZING. AH-MAZ-ING. I was shocked when I bit into it. I haven’t even tried any other sushi burrito, but this is a keeper. I had two onigiris, the whole meal was filling(even w/o the onigiri!) Customer Service is really nice! I plan to come back again.

Great spot. Small little spot with a few bench seats. I think it’s good for chilling and grabbing a bite to eat during work. After work. Yadi yada. Food: Delicious burgers. Noodles are a good choice too. Sushi is fresh and their burritos are filling. The price is so good I just went for all sorts. Their beef lollipop type thing is amazing!!! Plus for the health conscious people, it’s pretty clean eating.

ONIGIRI. One of my favorite snacks that also happens to turn into a meal. This small place knows how to make them. I have been to JP Street on multiple occasions. Sometimes I am just in the area and will run in for a snack, other times I get all my friends together to eat dinner or lunch here. The menu of JP Street has expanded quite a lot since the first time I came here. I love the rice balls. The choice of choosing a healthier option such as purple rice is a plus. If you have any special requests, do not be afraid to ask since all the staff there is very friendly. I also get the Sushi Burrito here. The Sushi is pretty fresh and is folded in the perfect way to hold in all the flavor. This last time i had the Volcano Sushi. Which i got as a recommendation from the cashier. The flavor was abundant and the spicyness was not overpowering.

Panya didn’t have a fried chicken rice ball, like I was craving, so I thought I’d see if JP Street had one. But when I asked the server about their rice balls he was hesitant. «What’s most popular then?» The sushi burrito. I didn’t quite know what a sushi burrito consisted of, but if the employees name a popular dish, it’s best to order it. And I’m glad I did. I really enjoyed the sweet-spicy combo of my volcano burrito. Their sushi burritos are more akin to an overlarge hand-roll or an uncut sushi roll. It’s not quite the size of a burrito, it’s about 2 inches in diameter, but it’s jam packed with crunchy seaweed and panko flakes, sweet sushi rice and imitation crab meat, and pleasantly accented with spicy mayo, avocado, and sesame seeds. A small isn’t really filling enough for a meal, but it makes a tasty snack.

I was left pretty unimpressed by this place. While the people are friendly, the food is lacking, and ultimately food is the most important. I got a Kobe Beef Burger, and while the burger wasn’t awful, it wasn’t particularly memorable. Kobe Beef has quite a reputation as one of the best types of beef money can buy, so this was a disappointing experience in my opinion. The curly fries are almost definitely frozen ones that my mom has bought for me before. The way they stuck together, the color, and the shape all gave this away to me immediately. It was rather upsetting that I spent as much as I did on fries I could buy at the supermarket. This place isn’t particularly cheap, but I took a shot on it because the kobe beef burger was priced so reasonably. After eating it though, I question whether it was even really kobe beef, and if it was, the quality of the product they are using. My friends also did not have a great opinion of this place, so I’m inclined to think that I’m not an isolated incident. Maybe I’ll stop by to give them another shot in the future, but not the greatest first impression.

Cheapo Japanese food that somehow works. I had half a volcano burrito. It was extremely simple and I could have made it myself in 3 minutes. But tasted good, relatively filling, and cheap. They also had super delicious Japanese milk tea in a small can. For more than $ 3 it’s slightly steep but the cheapo food made up for it. Food came fast. Clean place. Efficient. Spacious.

Being from the East Coast, I jumped at the chance to try a «sushiritto.» NYU students get 10% off which is pretty neat. We came on a weeknight around 9 and the store was pretty empty. We ordered the Volcano Burrito and Sea Dragon Burrito. Both were pretty good. I’ve never tried the actual sushiritto, but my boyfriend has and he said this one was less oily and that the ratio of rice to ingredients was better, but smaller in size. The large size is supposed to be double the smaller size. Honestly it didn’t look that much bigger, but I think the portions are decent. Good option for those who can’t make it out to San Francisco.

The sushiritto is making it’s way to the east coast. My friends and I were super excited to try this and each ordered something different. The price point is kind of steep considering the size of the small. I think someone has a picture comparing the size to a computer mouse. We all got smalls and was still hungry afterwards. The service was superb! They were attentive but also left us to chat and talk.

I finally had my first sushi burrito! Yay! Why didn’t I know about this place earlier? I’m slowly going to try all the sushi burritos, rice bowls and onigiris they have here. I visited JP Street today with two friends and we all ordered a different sushi burrito. The small burritos range from a price of $ 7-$ 8 depending on the ingredients inside and the large is around $ 14-$ 16. The most expensive one is the Atlantic Sea Burrito from what I recall. The staff is very friendly and welcoming with big smiles. We didn’t order any drinks but they were nice enough to ask if we wanted some cups of water. The sushi burrito didn’t take too long to make and the staff brought it over for us in little paper boats. As we were all busy snapping/instagramming pictures, they even gave us a friendly reminder to tag them. Haha We ordered the Sea Dragon Burrito, Atlantic Sea Burrito and the Volcano Burrito. I didn’t get to try the Volcano Burrito but my friend and I shared the Sea Dragon and Atlantic Sea halves. The Sea Dragon Burrito has eel, shrimp tempura, kani, tamago, avocado, cucumber and eel sauce. I liked how the shrimp tempura is fresh and isn’t just a lot of fried batter. The eel sauce definitely made it more flavorful. The Atlantic Sea Burrito has raw fish like tuna and salmon. Comparing the two, I would recommend getting the Sea Dragon Burrito. Overall, I think the proportion of sushi rice to ingredients is reasonable. They were also nicely wrapped and cut into halves. The small sushi burrito is a little smaller than I expected. I don’t usually eat large portions but the burrito left me wanting more. However, I don’t think I would be able to finish a large without stuffing myself. They are a little pricey but considering how it’s essentially a big sushi roll, what do you expect? I know I’ll be back for more sushi burritos! There’s a discount for NYU students by the way. And they also deliver!

Awesome counter staff but prices are way too steep. I came to try the sushi burrito after having one at Uma Temakeria. JP Street has 3 burrito options, which is better compared to Uma Temakeria’s 1. However, it’s ~$ 15 for one while Uma Temakeria is only $ 10. All the burritos at JP Street also don’t have raw fish. I ordered the large sea dragon sushi burrito(8 inch) which contains eel, shrimp tempura, pickled radish, tamago, avocado, kani, cucumber, and eel sauce. Some of the flavors didn’t seem to really go together and the ingredients were okay. I wish that they had an option for raw fish because it would’ve justified their higher price. There was an okay amount of rice, but the sauce and many different flavors made the sushi burrito heavier than expected. The staff was amongst the friendliest I’ve ever encountered — maybe I’ll be back to try the other things that they have.

Stop by the area and wanted to try something new. I was always a fan of rice balls and JP Street’s menu was very convincing. There is a good amount of seats here and the place is very clean. The employees was also so friendly and helpful on recommendations. The concept of the purple rice was definitely a plus! I had the Lobster Salad Rice Ball and LOVEIT. The purple rice had thicker texture but the sauce of the lobster is evenly distributed throughout the rice ball. The JP wings opens your appetite with a nicely blended sweet, sour and very slightly spicy taste. I like how the it’s cut so it’s easier to eat. They also have a refrigerator full of beverages(mostly Japanese branded beverages — Some are really good, try Calpico if you haven’t). I definitely would come back for the rice balls and explore their menu.
