There pizza tastes like dog shit. I threw up all day long. DONTEATHERE. I’d give them 0 stars if I could

Joey Pepperoni’s is great for a fast slice. Consider asking the server to keep your slice in the oven for a few extra minutes — definitely improves with a bit of crust crunch!

If you’re looking for cheap eats, then look no further. This place is a 3 minute walk from work and I wouldnt have it any other way. at $ 1 a slice, you can’t beat the prices or the taste. Although the pizza doesnt have a «WOW» factor, it IS just good, old-fashioned pizza. I’ve only had a few of the toppings pizza(pepperoni, mushroom, etc), and they don’t disappoint either. I think the thing i love most about Joey’s is that you really can’t complain about your pizza – and that i’ve had worse slices in my life that were easily double or even triple the price.

Pretty standard NYC dollar pizza joint. They’ve got a great cheese to sauce to dough ratio. I like piping hot slices, but they seem to serve them warm by default. But ask and you shall receive… if they’re not too busy.

$ 1 cheese slices. $ 8 pies. Can’t beat it. One of the best pizzas I’ve had. It’s not supposed to be fancy. It’s a delicious mess of pizza. Wouldn’t recommend any toppings though, prices skyrocket as soon as you want any toppings.

It’s no NYC original slice. But hey, with the price your paying. I’m not complaining. They have varieties of flavors specially made each day. Bump a quarter or so and you got what you want. 1 $ for regular slice. 2.75 $ for 2 slices and a drink! So if your in a rush or just need a quick bite from your busy schedule. Stop on by for a slice or 2 !! They do delivery as well!

On vacation in town with my gf and stayed in the area. I ordered a pie ½ bb cue chicken and ½ cheese. The guy told me 10 mins and that should have said it all. I made pizza back in school days and I know how long a pie should take from start to finish. I saw a single door oven that looks like my oven at home and I should have walked out but my gf was craving pizza. The pizza looked like undercooked with no heat on the cheese, here is how the pie was made. They threw white chicken breast on the pie and put bb cue sauce in chicken. The other places marinated their bb cue chicken and then cut up the pieces giving natural flavor of bb cue chicken. The dough was chewy and the sauce had no flavor. I had to add salt. How can you mess up a pie in NYC for the sake all other proud pizza maker. Please don’t go here even if you are starving.

For what this place is, a $ 1 pizza place, it’s great. If you want a slice of pizza for a dollar, Joey’s is a good choice. It’s not the best pizza this side of Italy, but it will hold you over until dinner at a nominal cost. $ 8 gets you a whole plain pie but they also have toppings for a buy, rolls and garlic knots. I’ve had better pizza, sure, but I don’t think better $ 1 slices. Noteworthy, Joey’s outlasted the short-lived 2nd Avenue Grimaldi’s. Joey’s doesn’t take credit cards or reservations, either: wink:

One of the better dollar-pizza joints I’ve been to in the city… and I’ve been to a lot. The crust is usually perfectly cooked, with a little char underneath and light crisp. The sauce has decent flavor, but the cheese is like every other discount joint. The guys who work here are really nice and thankful for your business. Size of the slice always seems a little less than other places, but if you’re in the neighborhood this will take care of your pizza fix and good value for flavor. 3.5 stars among dollar-pizza joints.

Best $ 1 slice in midtown. Dollar for dollar(see what I did there?), it’s the tastiest pizza you can get. Unlike most $ 1 slices, the crust here has that crispy-on-the-outside-yet-chewy-on-the-inside texture that you can only get with $ 3 slices. Don’t be fooled by their faux paux Super Mario logo — great pizza here.

Yes it’s for $ 1 but it is worthy enough to join the Dollar Pizza«Holla 4 Yuh Dolla» Hall of Fame? Merely just stumbling upon Joey’s, I was in need of a quick fix prior to going out to have the infamous«one drink.» Lots of places offer cheesy goodness for one dollar but since the inception of all these cheap pizza chains, I’ve become a skeptic and am very picky as to how I choose to pollute my body with these greasy treats. After all, one dollar goes a long way. Joey’s is good but it’s not great. For $ 2.75, you can get 2 slices and a soda/water which is a major plus. The cheese content is sufficient but the sauce isn’t the best. Reminiscent of marinara sauce from the White Castle packets, the sauce here is a little bitter and wreaks of mediocrity. I mean for a dollar, you can’t expect much. However, the servers behind the counter were very nice and cheerful. This place doesn’t join my personal favorite list but it does deserve an honorable mention.

«This is one d*mn good pizza» was my thought the whole way home as I walked and mused. These $ 1 slice pizza places are all over the city, but always seem suspect: how could it be so cheap? Must be bleh. Nope. It was delicious. And cheap. Slightly toasted on the crust, so u get a nice crunch on the bite… the NYC pizza crunch. Then there’s the nice spices on the sauce/cheese: so subtle and simple… yet so noticeable. Maybe I’m delirious from shock that a decent pizza can be a buck… maybe I’m just blowing this review out of proportion. Whatever the case, I enjoyed it immensely and I think you would too.

I have shunned the dollar slice for a long time now. I see all of these terrible $ 1 slice pizza closets in Midtown and they make me cringe. Geezy B introduced this place to me, and I was pleasantly surprised. This isn’t your 2 Bros or copy cat pizza that is light on the ingredients. Since I would eat this pizza sober, I guess this is the best of the worst pizza. Forget the toppings. If DiFara were closer, I would not look for substitutes. IFHTP3+

Dollar slices outside my door? This might be dangerous. Luckily they dont taste that awesome. Toppings? No! Just DONTDOIT. All the toppings are pretty awful. Just stick to cheese and be kinda happy. You’re here for a reason, right? If you think about it though… the only time you should ever be getting this food is if youre alone, hungry, and short on time. If you meet all 3 of these criteria definitely go for it. If not… hmmm how about you consider getting some grimaldi’s across the street or a regular slice for a dollar more at Mikes down the street. If you must get a dollar slice try Percy’s by NYU. AMAZING.

Unilocalers Paul. H & Kenny C. introduce me to this place a week ago and life hasn’t been the same since. As far as dollar pizza places go. This… might be the best slice I’ve had in New York… but I hear rumors of a better one in Chelsea. $ 1 for a cheese slice and I believe it was $ 2 for a topping. Pies are $ 8 for cheese. Atmosphere: 4⁄5 — Surprisingly open space but there was only one counter top to eat on. Small but not cramped in any sense. They were almost blasting some trance on the speakers when we went so automatic 4⁄5 :). Service: 3⁄5 — The guy that served us was friendly and kept calling us «boss.» Food: 5⁄5 — okay as far as bang for your $. Auto 5⁄5. The slice is large, but not too large. The sauce and cheese blend perfectly and the bread tastes warm and soft. Joey’s strikes a distinct balance of everything you could want in a slice. They’re pretty consistent to boot.

I frequent here almost daily and it has been over a year. The pizza is about 80% consistent(better than the other locations). You really can’t go wrong with dollar pizza. Service is speedy and efficient. You’re in and out within minutes unless you find out that the pizza is piping hot and crisp that you buy another two slices(this tends to happen often to me). If you come around 20 – 30 minutes before closure, they may offer their other pizzas for only $ 1. Specials: –2 cheese slices and soda/water for $ 2.75 –2 sicilian slices and soda/water for $ 2.75 –2 hotdogs and soda/water for $ 3.00

A small hole in the wall where you can get stupid cheap $ 1 pizza slices that are decent, tasty and that keeps you alive. Joey’s is conveniently located by Bellevue Hospital and I would often come here after clinical rotation to refuel on warm cheesy pizza. Unlike some of the 2 Bros pizzerias, there aren’t any space at this place to sit down and eat beside a small section of the wall with a counter. This is definitely a grab and go pizza spot. 1 slice of plain cheese pizza is $ 1 while a whole pie is $ 8. Usually the slices with one topping(mushroom/pepperoni) is $ 1.50 per slice or $ 10. The more complicated the pizza the higher the price. You can get 2 slices of regular or Sicilian with a can of soda or water is $ 2.75. All their rolls(chicken/pepperoni/sausage & peppers) are $ 2.50 and they have beef patties for $ 2. Great place for a quick, cheap lunch to eat while you’re on the go.

One Dollar pizza is for real. This is real old style New York pizza, what it was like forty years ago. Not too much cheese, not too much sauce, not too much taste. If you want more taste you add toppings. If you like fancy brick oven pizza, my suggestion, stay away. If you like old school, come on down!

$ 1 cheese slices. Better than 2 bros in my opinion because it’s slightly thinner and crisper. Convenient if you’re in Kips Bay looking for a quick, cheap bite.
