Came here about a month ago. I happened by because it was pouring and I wanted a cannolis from the bakery next door but didn’t want to head home. The drinks are cheap, and yes you get kind of a divey feel but it’s clean and seems to have regulars who drop by. The guy behind the bar was nice and friendly. I had a nice conversation about tito’s vodka with probably the owner. Overall it was a good experience and glad I stumbled upon it since there aren’t many bars in the area.

I think I’m being generous with 4 stars. The locals are nice people, but I just wish there was a happy hour. Also, there’s nothing to snack on.

Joe’s is a local pub on Avenue U. It’s a dive bar with some crazy locals. I came in on a Friday night with some friends. It wasn’t too busy. The bartender was nice. One of the regulars(Donald) did his Mick Jagger impersonation and told us his life story. It was a good time. They also had NY sports memorabilia on the walls and TV’s with all the local games on. Gotta love it!

As I’ve been exploring parts of Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, and Gravesend to try to find alternative Bars, Lounges, Clubs, to just enjoy. Instead of traveling into the city to enjoy the night life. I stumbled into Joe’s Bar on Avenue U. It’s you’re standard dive bar not too small but just right. Bar is equipped with Tv’s, Pool Table, some hunting and card games in the back end by the restrooms. The highlight would be the little Jukebox besides the front door. Pretty good selection of music. The atmosphere is laid back. Only issue I find with most bars in general is the lack of female to male ratio. So If you want to come clear your mind Joe’s is the spot.
