I’ve been going to Julie for years and completely trust her with my skin. Although, I no longer live in NYC, whenever I visit, I make sure to schedule some time for her age defying treatments. She always has some sort of new gadget to make your skin look amazing. Her treatments are not typical fluffy facials, geared more towards relaxation. Instead, she provides targeted, results-oriented services. Her products are a must as well — I can’t live without her Retinol Serum. If you’re looking for someone to massage than slather your face with a boring mask, this is not where you go. However, if you are serious about your skincare, look no further.

I’ve been going to JL Skinfitness for 8+ years. I had met Julie, the owner when she was head of a big spa and was impressed with her knowledge and her abilities as I got a facial. My skin was ok back when I first met her, but fast forward to a couple years later I was dealing with horrible acne, eczema and scars that would not go away. It was awful and I was desperate so I sought her out to see if she could help me. JLSkinfitness is a boutique, not a big spa where you pay get your treatment and leave. Julie tailors to your needs and is fully attentive and results oriented. This is no ordinary steam your face, put on a mask facial. You will leave thinking wow, I’ve never had a facial like that before. But the best is, she did take care of me and was honest about how I could see results. It is not overnight, but you do see quick results and it is not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. Everything about her treatments is quality and like a good workout, it changes all the time because your skin changes. You get results. Full disclosure: I was and am a paying client. Not sure about that review on the free facial and bad service because the JLSkinfitness is right on 26th Street and Broadway in an elevator building with front desk staff. It’s not hard to find and if you go in the building they know exactly where she is and there is also a board with alphabetical listing of each office.

Couldn’t sell a free facial. I got an offer for a free facial and thought a $ 95 freebie was a no brainer, until I got there. First they neglected to provide their suite number in the appointment confirmation(or anywhere online) so when I got to the building, I couldn’t actually find them. The building directory had no record of them either, and they don’t answer their phone. When they finally called me back 30 minutes after the appointment start time, their was no apology. Instead the woman on the other line acted like it was my fault and went into some ridiculous justification about their phone and internet not working at the same time. The worst part though was that this person was not just the inept receptionist but also the only person in the entire«salon». The so-called expert Julie(who they had explicitly said, twice, would be doing the facial), is nowhere to be found once you arrive. Bottom line: this place is a scam. In a city full of salons, there are infinite better options.
