Jeffrey A. Naiditch, MD

Dr. Naiditch is one of the best doctors I’ve had over the course of a long lifetime. He is meticulous and scrupulous, and informs you about your medical conditions at length and in detail given by almost no doctors nowadays. As another reviewer has noted, he is vitally concerned about your health, and about prevention. I have had osteopenia for 18 years, which has now turned into osteoporosis. Dr. Naiditch spent a good half-​hour explaining both conditions to me, reviewing my X-​Rays with me, and encouraging me to take notes and to review the literature before my appointment with the specialist. With all of this he was kind, courteous, and at appropriate points humorous as well. I trust this guy with my life. No mean statement. Many years ago I had another such doctor but he was forced to reduce his practice because of illnesses in his own family. The only other doctors I can recall who were like Dr. Naiditch were my physician-father’s colleagues in my childhood. That was back in the 1950s.

Been seeing him since his practice was in Sheridan Sq. in the 90’s and he still accepted insurance. He no longer accepts insurance and I still go to him. Excellent physician who is much more concerned for your health than fads, the health care industrial complex or bias against non-​traditional medicine. Not a traditional boutique or concierge doctor. (He once had a practice that was heavily HIV+ and has also worked at Rikers.) He’ll never say «trust me, I’m a Doctor.»
Now if only he took my insurance he’d be perfect, but this is one expense that I’m willing to eat given we get this one life and can’t expect any pockets to carry the cash forward. He has early hours and loves life so takes off his Fridays. Like we all should. Go see him once to be convinced — unless you are happy with the overwhelmingly packed waiting room — with magazines that were out of date when you were in HS– for your insurance plan Doc who went to the Medical School of Phoenix online.

I only went in once, but I liked him. He’s a travel doctor. I was running late for my appointment, and I was the last of the day, so he apologized for being a little rushed but he had somewhere to be. Nonetheless, I was grateful that he still saw me even though I was over 15 minutes late (train troubles). He was competent and confident. The office was nice, and the office staff was friendly.
He is one for best practices, as he showed me the vial for each vaccine before he administered it and cautioned me to always insist on seeing the vials before blindly letting anyone administer anything, ever. He also gave me an insert for my passport that listed my vaccines and instructed me to rubber band it and keep it there. He inspired my confidence.
I had called earlier that morning and they fit me in for the afternoon. No wait was refreshing.
Only thing that sucks is that he sort of doesn’t accept insurance. You have to pay everything up front, and then his office takes your insurance card and bills the insurance to reimburse you for whatever it’s willing to. But a lot of exotic travel vaccines aren’t covered anyway, so eh.
