Americans make a big deal about«authenticity» in their food as if it were a badge of honor. And I have to chuckle… Most of you don’t really want authentic food — it sounds better than it eats. Most people would be horrified by authentic food from countries like Mexico or China. Getting off my soapbox. OK, you want authentic Mexican? This is it. This is the closest I’ve come to Mexican food outside of Mexico. They know their audience, so you won’t find, say, beef cheeks here. But this food is a mirror image of my typical lunches in Mexico City. And, oh by the way, it is MAGNIFICENT. The tacos are all soft and double wrapped with small flour tortillas. Taco Enchilada: A Quite spicy. The interplay between the enchilada sauce and and lime/cilantro makes a vibrant taco. A fantastic taco. Beef: A– Beef was typical of Mexican tacos. A *tad* tough, but cut small so that’s not a problem. Vibrant with charbroil steak flavor.

This place is DELICIOUS! I just discovered it parked on Wall Street yesterday and was beyond pleased to see something fresh, tasty, in a food truck, with vegetarian options that cost as little as $ 2.50. The menu consists of tacos, tortas, tlacoyos, tostadas, quesadillas, huraches, etc. Options for fillings are vegetarian, chicken, and various other types of meats. The ingredients are fresh and yummy, the staff is super-nice, and the price is fantastic. I tried the tlacoyo yesterday and it was very, very good. One side had green sauce and the other had red and together, so it was great to sample both of their sauces. I prefer the red. Today, I got a vegetarian taco(rice, black beans, lettuce, tomato, crema, salsa, and cheese, garnished with some very fresh radish slices and lime). Awesome. Will try the torta next, if I can keep myself away from the tlacoyos. I’m surprised that this place doesn’t have more reviews because it really is fantastic. Thank you, Jalapeño NYC! Good Mexican food is hard to find in Manhattan, especially in the Financial District, so you are a godsend! You will become my new habit, especially because I can grab just a little snack(like a taco) and not feel guilty for cheating on my leftovers lunch from home :-) Best truck tacos in the FiDi, by far!

Good cheap tacos. WIde selection of meats with simple topping. They also have burritos and some other stuff, but I’ve stuck with the taco list every time I have gone so far.

I only had the Al Pastor Spicey Pork taco but my first bite was grizzly. It was otherwise flavorful. Still, I can’t stand fat, grizzle, or bones in my meat so I’m kind of turned off. The bright green truck was clean and the service was friendly. The tacos are reasonably priced from $ 2.50−3.50.
