Perfect spicy hot chocolate and chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches, filled with your selection of flavors. The cookies themselves were a little too dry and easily crumbled, but overall the sandwich was delicious!

The best chocolate chip cookies in NYC is the double chocolate cookie. It’s more of a confection, but not quite. It is a vehicle for Torres’ spanking fresh chocolate. The almond barks are the next best thing here. The hot chocolate should be served in espresso cup sizes, it’s that intense. Not really my style, but actually nice in very limited quantities. FRESHCHOCOLATE here, you can taste the freshness.

I had a regular hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookie from here, and the hot chocolate was unfortunately underwhelming(I had the Guayaquil hot chocolate at La Maison du Chocolat the following day, which I preferred over Torres’ hot chocolate). The chocolate chip cookie, however, is the best I’ve had so far. Much, much better than Levain’s, of who I’m not a fan. I will definitely be going back for the chocolate chip cookies!

Service from Maria was superb! She was friendly and helpful and let me ask her all my silly questions about the origins of the store and insisted I tru the banana Ice cream which was so loaded with flavor! !! Go see her! Also, the classic frozen chocolate drink was delicious. Soooo rich, chocolatey, and not dumped with sugar!!! The chocolate taste lingers in your mouth

There’s a fridge of ice cream sandwiches, gelato pints, and macarons in the back, some tables, and some great displays. They had Easter and Passover stuff out and it was pretty impressive, but it was 10am and we just needed a sugar fix between appointments nearby so we went with the $ 1.09 dark chocolate egg, naturally hollow and light but tasty.

Been there once and had the chocolate chip cookie. Thin, crispy and good tasting chocolate chunks. I noticed the store was decorated nicely with chocolate bars, baskets, truffels, cookies. Some were in little bags. The prices were reasonable. Not a bad place to try out some chocolate and treats once in awhile. I’m not much of a chocolate fan, but I do like Jacques Torres, he does know his sweets!

My favorite Brooklyn chocolatier has come to the upper east side and just in time since I spend so much time here(not really). They are literally still opening up as of now. There is no where to sit but you can still buy the usual favorites. Truffles, cookies, and probably coming soon… chocolate drinks. I’m perfectly happy with a quick purchase here to go… my favorite location is still the tiny original spot by the Brooklyn bridge.
