This is good, solid diner food. Their omelets and other egg dishes are reliably tasty, and their chili is very good. I’ve never eaten in here, but I’ve gotten takeout and delivery a number of times, and they offer very efficient service. Overall, good food, particularly when it’s a late night!

I wish I could post negative stars. I just spent $ 86 on tasteless cocktails, over cooked burgers that had no seasoning, there literally was no flavor. I’m so confused how people enjoyed this place.

I used to order from this location all the time because the price is good and the burgers are huge. The only problem is delivery is extremely slow so by the time the food arrives — the burgers are cold and soggy, fries are soggy, and everythings falling apart.

Deeeeeeeeeeelicious burger. Juicy, beefy flavorful, bun toasted to perfection. Grilled onions exceptional. Yes!

I like places like these where the burgers are too big for my hands to hold, there’s grease and oil in everything, and I can sit there and sip my root beer float in peace. That’s pretty much it though. Come here if you’re in the area looking for a diner.

Jackson Hole is a great place to grab a bite. The menu is extensive, and offers a wide array of «diner» food. Burgers, chicken sandwiches, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, and french toast are all safe bets. We had a few problems with our order,(wrong food coming out, forgetting things) and while it was frustrating, the waitress could not have been more apologetic and helpful to take every item in question off the bill. There is also a jukebox in the back area, which at sporadic times played random oldie jams. I was with a group of 820-somethings, so naturally we loved it.

Great place for a hearty food at economical prices. I even saw Santa here. :-) This is a great place if: 1. You are on a budget 2. You have a huge appetite 3. You are eatie rather than a foodie 4. Like to people watch

A solid 3 star establishment. The atmosphere is very old school diner-esque, with flip jukeboxes on each table. The service has always been wonderful and the delivery is quick and neat. That said, this is not a gourmet restaurant. You get standard food, some of it with a Mexican flare, at reasonable prices. Their guacamole is surprisingly good. They also have a decent hangover breakfast — only problem is that they don’t open until 10:30. I wish they opened at 8 or 9 on the weekends.

+ affordable, + delicious burgers(huge variety), + cozy Western atmosphere Staying in Manhattan for several days can be pretty expensive. This is why affordable recommendations for dinner come in handy. The Jackson Hole, a New York originated small burger chain belongs to these recommendations. Finding the little gem is quite easy since the flag above the door is almost bigger then the place itself. After descending the few stairs to the basement you have the choice of staying at the bar and watch the chefs preparing the dishes or to sit down in one of the narrow dining rooms that are decorated with vintage western signs and accessories. Since burgers are the house’s specialty you definitely should go with one of the 7oz patties. E.g. the one with Brie on top! After having this one in NYC I started to prepare it the same way at home. Jackson Hole has 8 locations in New York City, State of NY, and New Jersey. The one I am talking about is located in the residential area of 2nd Ave so you are ending up sitting next to locals than tourists, except they ended up here coincidently or have been to another branch before. + affordable, + delicious burgers(huge variety), + cozy Western atmosphere Credit cards accepted! Average entrée: $ 12.

big is not synonymous of flavorful. The meat taste like… nothing, my medium rare order was delivered overcooked. The cheese disappeared from the sandwich and there was enough greasy mushrooms on its side to feed a party of 3. Delivered was within the indicated time-frame. The brown bag was greasy. Will not comment about the fries, they were such a disappointment. At least I have tried…

Burgers galore at 7 oz.!! Time to charge up the fat and grease to increase one’s cholesterol at Jackson Hole. I had no idea there was a Jackson Hole in Yorkville, Upper East Side, until a friend brought me here for dinner. A retro diner with a very worn interior for booths contain working juke boxes at $.25 per song played in the background where space is ample without the bump to elbow. It appeared ghostly empty as few patrons were dinning aside from our party of two, amid the time was 7:10pm for a Monday night. It is to my belief, the economy has greatly declined in a downward tale-spin to affect all businesses, as I am included. The kitchen is openly visible in the foyer near the diner’s booths which a strong stench of burgers aromatic all through the day. I was able to attain one of my favorite cheese, French Brie on a burger at $ 8.65 without steak fries or other toppings to scathe the purity of the burger. The Brie cheese was a good portion to cover the meat, which unlike most restaurants only a slab is given barely provide coverage. I was so hungry that the 7 oz. was entirely engulf in the piping heat direct from the kitchen. Yes, Phil H. burgers are big and sloppy as there goes my cholesterol level… AIJA! My friend’s Western Burger was filling complete with his platter choice. Pickles are distributed as a substitute for bread. Yes, there is even a good selection of vegetarian and a South of the Border for Chicken Nachos, Tortilla chips, Burritos. The selection of «The Bronco» chicken is more than your average diner. Of course a retro diner cannot be complete without shakes at $ 4.30 or extra thick cream at $ 5.30. Beer and wine are the only mediums of alcohol, ergo do not expect a full-service bar. Price is reasonable for this diner. This diner fends the appearance to be kid-friendly for the retro look. Service is efficient, prompt and courteous.

Fellow Unilocalers, I am starting to notice a disturbing trend of people rating things that are consistently good and a decent value with a sort of «meh» 3 stars and writing comments like«standard diner fare, nothing special» and I am sad. I am sad because in this day of food chemistry. molecular gastronomy, and«small plates» with people who use words like ganache, «standard» has become unique and the so-called unique has become overdone and overpriced. This brings me to Jackson Hole. Yes, it is a local chain, yes it’s a burger joint, and yes it is standard burger fare thank heaven. Before the whole gourmet burger craze hit with Five Guys, Shake Shack, Go Burger, and millions more, Jackson Hole was already there serving you fresh burgers bigger than your head at an affordable price. On this night, I had the chopped steak dinner which the waiter reminded me was«just a big hamburger sir, not steak — just so you know». To which I smiled and said«exactly». The burger was the diameter of a frisbee and thick. Smothered with grilled onions and a side of broccoli with butter and garlic(no fries for me — counting carbs). Was it a little more rare than medium rare? Perhaps so but we don’t have Emeril or Boby Flay on the grill now do we? All that, a drink with free refills(I know, crazy) and a nice side salad for under $ 20! On the UES no less! Yes friends, standard fare is to be cherished and celebrated for if we allow our pretentious d-bag members to continue their denegration of these institutions with their«nothing specials» and«I was just there because it was convenient» we may very well lose the only places left that still have some value for the dollar left. Sermon over… eat, drink, and be…

Searching for the perfect burger on the UES has not been easy. Especially, when I need a delivery. The convenience factor, the size and the fact that they deliver are the strong points. The burgers are not too fatty or sloppy(like some of the diners around); but as other Unilocalers have said, they really lack flavor, for some reason. I only indulge in the best fries, and they do not pass the test, either. I really like the burgers at Finnegan’s Wake, and Bareburger. Bareburger is organic and they deliver. Not so pricy when you compare it some others that either don’t deliver or are tasteless. But, it’ll do, when you must have a burger, delivery. I also like the outdoor tables in the summer, but 2nd Avenue subway construction spoils the entire experience. Not really a fan. I recall once it was much better. Disappointed.

Huge burgers, not a lot of flavor to the meat. A friend of mine swears by this place. But I’m sorry to say that I’ve experienced much better burgers within the confines of the city. And jackson hole has nothing on these new places I have been introduced to. At one point in time I was going to blame it the alcohol. Prior to eating here I was down @ mustangs downing tequila margaritas. But I visited a second time and did not enjoy the food. So sorry Jackson hole, but can’t say I will return. The burgers are huge, but dry. I asked for medium and my burger was served well done. The bread was soggy before i could even put on the condiments. The Steak fries that came with my food were cold and soggy. burgers are one of those made to order things. If they are served the wrong way it can ruin a meal. Mine was one of these, which leads me to wonder if they had gotten the meat right would that have made a difference? with soggy bread and fries absolutely not.

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The service was bad– had to ask twice nearly for everything including sugar for coffee and water. I had an omelette, which really just didn’t taste good. The turkey sausage tasted microwaved. Just overall not a good experience. The good news is that people around me ordered burgers, and they did look good. So, I’d come back here and try that out, but otherwise I wouldn’t go back.

So, I couldn’t decide between 3 or 4 stars. I chose 4 because I AM a fan of their burgers. I guess to each their own but I love the oversized juicy burgers. I wouldn’t however recommend delivery as my delivery experience with them is about 50⁄50. It IS a whole lot of food for your money. And they DO have the best ranch(coming from a ranch lover like myself that says a lot). Your best bet is to just keep their food simple though. Don’t add too much extras or you’ll be feeling it later. I also recommend their milkshakes.

GIANT. SLOPPY. GREASY. But not in a good way. Burgers here are big and sloppy, but size does not equal happiness at this Jackson Hole. It just seems walking by this place it is always empty. Kind of like a glorifed diner that has worn out it’s usefulness. Also, the fries are alway undercooked and kind of limp. Why does this review sound like a Viagra commercial?

This place reminds me of Myspace. It was fun in 2005 but it has been abandoned by people who like Facebook. I walk in and its like a low rent Big Daddys. It has an old diner feel and plenty of space for large parties. The place is empty and at the bar I see the staff eating Subway? WTF? I ordered a Texas Burger which is a huge beef patty and a fried egg on top. No fries but I was in the mood for a Chocolate egg cream(the Brooklyn little kid in me) The burger was cooked pretty good, and the egg cream was also on target. Total price after tax was about 10 bucks. Was it the best burger I’ve ever ate? Not by a long shot. I’m sure they make good pancakes here, I can see myself coming here for breakfast on Saturdays but there are too many other places calling me so. I’ll never come back again.

Made the mistake of ordering delivery from here through Usually I’m pleased with GH and their customer service. Placed an order at 4:30pm, got a confirmation stating that the food would be here by 5:30pm. At 6:45pm no food had arrived. I called GH Customer Service they were friendly and polite, they called the manager at JHole and told the GrubHub person that it was an issue with their driver and that the food had already been sent out. GH called me relayed the info and offered me a 10 $ gift card for their site for next time. Nice, but wish it could have covered the entire meal! And said the manager of the restaurant would be contacting me directly. A few minutes later she did, she said that my food had«just gone out» at 6:30 pm that’s 2HOURS after the order was placed. I don’t claim to be a grill master, but that’s a freakin’ long time to make a burger! I wonder if she told the Grub Hub people it was a driver issue to mask a forgotten order… The manager was very short on the phone and offered no apologies. I’ve worked in customer service, it’s not always a joy, but your job is to smile(through the phone) and make that customer want to return. FAIL. p. s. the burger was fine but not worth the drama

This place is what it is. Not terrible, but not a place I’m raring and ready to go to either. My experiences here have been at 12:30AM with friends. We order drinks, wings, egg sandwiches, and ice cream sundaes. We play Kylie Minogue, Brandy, and Rockwell on the jukebox much to the chagrin of others. It’s a fun place for 20-somethings who are feeling a bit too rowdy and giggly for that time of night, THAT’S for sure. The wings? Subpar. The carrots and celery are limp but the sauce is good, so it all evens out??? Sure, why not. Their White Russian Martini is, in my opinion, one of the BEST White Russians I’ve ever had, so go figure. Their ice cream sundaes are nothing special, but certainly delicious. I always finish them.
