Insomnia Cookies

Waited 1.5 hours to get an online order of cookies delivered — they were the wrong kind and cold. When I called later, was told I would only get a refund if I sent in a pic of them… they were already eaten, because we didn’t have another 1.5 hours to wait for a replacement then. So, no refund. Meow.

I ordered a bundle of cookies online to have delivered to the restaurant where I work during slow business hours. On the deliver instructions, I specified that it was a business and to «deliver to host.» I was working so I missed the phone call from the delivery guy at 6:14. When I finally saw and called back at 6:20, he said he was waiting outside of the front of the restaurant. In the cold. And rain. I explained to him, per my instructions, he could come inside and give the cookies to the host. (I didn’t reiterate that had he followed my instructions to begin with, he could’ve saved himself time and discomfort.) Finally, when I got to the host stand to get my cookies, I open the sealed box, and they were all crumbled! So disappointing. I enjoy Insomnia, but this may be the last time ordering from this location.

absolutely horrible customer service. do not order from this place. they lie about their delivery times. i repeat, do not waste your time.

I placed an order for cookies at 12:08 am today… it’s 2:18 and after 3 customer service reps with insomnia as well as one customer service rep from seamless, I still haven’t had my delivery of ice cream and cookies, 2 things that are quick and easy to pack and send off.
Yes, the cookies are delicious. This isn’t gourmet French food though… there’s no reason it should ever take this long. Both times I spoke to a rep they said they called the store and it was «on its way.» The last time I heard that was an hour ago and I only live 12 blocks from them. Upset based on principle more than the cookies.

They make good cookies, but do not order on the phone! I placed an order on Monday to pick up for today. I gave them the address of the location for pick up, and ordered a cookie cake for my husband’s birthday. I showed up at the address and they said they never received an order, and to try another store. I called customer service, and they couldn’t find my order. I was given a confirmation number and gave them all my information, and they were unable to locate my order. The lady said to just place and order and wait, because there as nothing she could do. So now its my husband’s birthday, & I am without a cake. I will not be returning insomnia cookies despite their good cookies due to their customer service.

I ordered directly from their website. Web site not working. When I called to place order they hung up. Called again and placed on hold. I hung up. Too many bad businesses in this city. Third world service at New York City prices. What’s really annoying is that corporate doesn’t bother reading these reviews. If they had they would have remedied the situation long ago.

The cookies are yummy, served warm and consistent with their other branches. However, the service, or lack there of, makes you not want to bother coming here. Walked in while the girl behind the counter was chatting with her friends who came in to visit, no «can I help you» just a look of annoyance as though I interrupted her conversation and had the audacity to want to place an order. If this is the quality of workers they hire, go somewhere else until they learn service is just as important as what’s being served.

They may be fast but always get the order wrong. Slow down and read orders correctly. If this was a one time instance I might not have written a review but it is ALL the time!

I never ordered Insomnia Cookies before and decided to order online for delivery as I was studying for my finals. I’m glad I did! When they arrived, the cookies were still warm, delicious and amazing! Each bite of the cookie was as soft and tender as eating cotton candy. The chocolate would melt into my mouth and bring a smile to my face. I have never had such awesome and fresh cookies in my entire life. Seriously.
Despite two failed attempts at delivering to my dorm (they had called twice but my phone had limited service…) and calling customer service for redelivery (told them to text upon delivery instead of calling), I finally got my cookies delivered on the third attempt! Their customer service is excellent. I felt bad that they were unable to reach me 2 times yet, they were still willing to try to redeliver again.
I rarely write Unilocal reviews but I honestly want to write one for this. Thank you Insomnia Cookies! I don’t understand why the Unilocal rating is so low…, but I believe Insomnia Cookies truly deserve 5 stars for their superb cookies and customer service!

These cookies are the bomb. I remember first eating them at a Yale hackathon, so I’m glad they’re actually a thing. My favorite is the peanut butter cookie. Despite what others have said about the staff, they were pretty kind to me when I was there (even to the two girls before me that took long to order a simple meal :)).

Staff is unfriendly. They always have the look of just give me your money, what do you want, ok, goodbye.
There cookies are just your standard chocolate chip cookies I’m not sure why people «rave» about them, there ice cream is just your standard ice cream kind of like Bryers icecream meets Edys.
They have a large selection of cookies to choose from the only problem is they aren’t exceptional. Not worth going out of your way, if you have to settle, go for the chocolate chip. In the neighborhood there aren’t many places to go for «cookies/​brownies» or desert that late in the night.
If you are hungry for something sweet and its really late at night and you want that brownie minus the gooeeeyyyy soft brownie experience than head over to insomnia. They are open to 3am and do deliver.
In conclusion slightly sub-​standard brownie and chocolate chip cookies. Nothing special.

I got the best Yummy chocolatey cookies ever I got an online delivery an my order took around 20 minutes to come to my house an the chocolate chip cookies were soft warm fresh awesome amazing wow I loved it.

The rudest woman works here in the afternoons. I think she hates customers. I walked out before finishing my order, and the person behind me walked out, too.
That said, the ice cream was sticky and too sweet because it was stale. I can only imagine this place stays in business because it delivers cookies and hardly anyone has to walk in.

They’re decent cookies. Won’t say no if offered to me, but I won’t really go out of my way to order a box if I have a craving for something sweet.
A fair amount of fellow students rave about how this is «the best cookie in the world» or «to die for,» but I think that’s more of a trying-​to-​fit-​in-​with-​the-​hype thing than a genuine appreciation for the cookies themselves.
The M&M cookies are OK, but a bit off because the flavor of the M&Ms chocolate doesn’t match up with the flavor of the chocolate chips. Chocolate chip cookies are solid, as are the double chocolate and white chocolate macadamia. Mint chocolate chip cookies are awful, but that’s probably a personal bias since I’m not a fan of minty desserts in general.
Wouldn’t go out of my way for these cookies, but I’d prefer them over Pillsbury or Pepperridge Farm.

I have only been to one other Insomnia Cookies location in Bloomington-​Normal, IL. This location had the oddity, however, of not giving their cookies too much advertisement. All of the cookies on display were stacked up in a corner by the register, and I had to shift uncomfortably to read the names of the cookie varieties.
However, this location does have a decent ice cream selection — I always speak highly of places which offer birthday cake ice cream.
Employees are extremely kind as well. When I placed my order, I was told after the fact that their credit card machine was temporarily down. I had very little cash on me, so my 3-​item order shrunk to a 1-​item order. To make up for the inconvenience, an employee offered me a free deluxe cookie. That was much appreciated. :)

I really get the hype about Insomnia Cookies. They’re great! Though there are not many options of cookie or ice cream flavors, there are a multitude of combinations that you can pick and choose from. Another downside would be that majority of their products are made from dairy, and they do not have dairy-​free options.
Despite that, the staff are friendly, and the service was fast as well. It’s just what you want when you want it.

Worst customer service. Delivery sucks. Both times the deliver forgot my order. Second time forgot an order and have waited well over 2 hours for my order. 1:15am and I give up! No one is answering my call. For sure never will order from them again.

Finally hightailed it on over to this location. Sampled all the ice cream flavors as well as the chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and sugar cookies.

These cookies are nasty bro. Pillsbury are FAR superior, which is sad, to say the least lol. Everything tasted like dollar store brand ready made cookie dough, or like a 12 year old’s first attempts at baking. Nothing tasted real.
Ice cream is WAYYYYYYYYY too sweet (dare I say it?!) with no REAL flavor. You can TELL all this ice cream uses artificial ingredients or the cheapest of the cheap, and then throws barrels of cheap sugar in it to try to make it salvageable. There’s CLEARLY NOT AN OUNCE OF ACTUAL CREAM in this «ice cream», read nasty whitened alien sugar water. It’s honestly disgusting. I’ve never thrown out ice cream before in my LIFE but this was seriously that BAD.

The first time I went to this place I would have given it a 100 000 but now that I’ve been there a handful of times, I would probably give it a 3.5 or 4. The chocolate chip cookie is always good and the peanut butter chocolate chip deluxe cookie is to die for. Their cookies are generally warm and gooey (sometimes I actually think they are under cooked). Most have a perfect balance of crunchy and oozy. They are also VERY rich. You NEED milk or ice cream to wash them down if you eat more than one regular cookie or a deluxe cookie. Overall, I’d go back. I sometimes crave the peanut butter deluxe or the chocolate chip or even the double chocolate chip.
Also the workers are sometimes sassy or don’t come to the register in a timely manner even when they see you there.

I’ll admit the cookies here are good, but not something I can’t make at home. What’s really going to keep me from coming back is the service. The lady working there kept us waiting for a while and then when she was ready, she mumbled something. We couldn’t understand her so we asked to repeat what she said and she angrily walked back into the kitchen saying «Tell me when you’re ready.» We told her we were ready and she replied with exasperation, like she was doing us a favor, «That’s what I said.» Did I mention she didn’t smile once? I’m not paying $ 1.50 for a cookie and this service.
The cookies are good, (not great) but the service will deter you from coming back.
