Tried the groupon this evening! Love the décor, great romantic place for a date with a special date(as I am doing at the moment haha). Ordered the vegetable samosa as a appetizer, lamb korma & lamb vindaloo for entrée, & the rice pudding for desert. Everything was delicious! Lamb vindaloo was really spicy but still good. Service was friendly &‘I loved the music playing in the background. My only complaint was the main course took really long to bring. I was here for 2 hours! But maybe that means they brought out the good fresh. Anyway, I would definitely come back, take advantage of the groupon while it’s still there!

While on winter break, my friends and I from Stony Brook University decided to try Indigo Indian Bistro. We went last Friday, on January 15, for my friend’s birthday dinner. We found that the restaurant was very neat and clean, and the service was great! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice. They were extremely accommodating to our needs. For appetizers we ordered soya patties, chaat papri, and they were kind enough to give us complimentary bhajias .For entrees we ordered tandoori chicken, lamb tikka masala, mutter paneer, shrimp jalferezi along with cheese naan and garlic naan. For dessert we went with gulab jamun. We all ordered mango lassis for drinks which were great. All the dishes were very flavorful and delicious. I recommend them completely and we will definitely be back here!

Uhg, I really wanted to like this place. The ambiance is awesome and the location is decent. I had a Living Social deal — $ 25(marked down to $ 20) for 2 entrees, 1 app, 2 glasses of wine, 1 dessert, 1 order of rice and 1 order of naan. Wine — house white wine. I noticed that they filled up non-Living Social tables with more wine. What the heck? Vegetable samosas with chutney — this was good. I liked the taste of the chutney with it. However, the samosa itself had no flavor. No spices, no nothing. Cheese naan — average, no real taste… even with the cheese. Some pieces were a little too burnt. Lamb korma and Lamb rogan josh -.WATERY! The sauces were super watery… I have had Indian food like 50 times by now, if not more, and this sauce did not taste like«an almond cream sauce.» The lamb came in small, fatty chunks. I have had better, although the good pieces were very tender. Rice is rice. Galub Jumun — good. This was probably my favorite. We also ordered a mango lassi, which was okay. — add an extra $ 3 – 4 to the bill. Service was awful… there was one girl working and her friend was at the«bar area» talking to her the whole time, so we sat there waiting a while. The total came to $ 11.00(Have to have a $ 10 bill to use a card)…so this included tip. So overall, $ 31…this was not worth $ 31…MAYBE $ 20. But even then, the quality of the food/sauces just was not good. I get indian food constantly in Brooklyn and never pay more than $ 35 for the same food items. Sauces are not supposed to be watery — they’re supposed to be packed with flavor and creamy. I will not be back and I would not recommend the Living Social or Groupon deals. :(

Ordered delivery: pre fixe delivery menu comes with an appetizer, entrée, bread and rice for $ 15. Favorites were the samosa and lamb rogan josh. The curry was flavorful and lamb was well cooked. Chicken tikka masala, chicken chettinad, malai kebab, seekh kebab were just okay. All the chicken and lamb dishes were boneless. Great deal but not my most favorite Indian food on Lex

Went here on a groupon deal, and was initially having second thoughts due to the mixed reviews but decided to give it a go. After all, it was a three-course meal for TWO that includes ANY appetizer, TWO entrees, a dessert, AND two glasses of wine ONLY for $ 25. Ambiance: 4⁄5 Great, romantic, with beautiful photo decors on one side of the wall, and a huge mirror on the other. The fine-dining setting gives it a luxurious feel. Food: 3.5÷5 Good, however the serving size were a bit smaller than the usual American portion. Got the samosa for appetizer(mediocre), grilled chicken(some parts were a tad undercooked it’s almost unnoticeable but I did lol) and tomato-based curry(this was EXCELLENT, with generous cheese dices) for the entrees, and cheese balls with honey for dessert(idk what to comment on it as I haven’t tried anything like this before, but my companion loved it. It was too odd and too sweet for my liking). Service: 5⁄5 Not sure if this was because we were the only ones in the restaurant on a rainy Thursday night, but the server and hostess were VERY attentive we gave a big tip. **Bathroom: 3.5 Small, old, and okay. It could perhaps use a little renovation. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

Had a nice meal here Saturday evening. A recent offer from Groupon is what brought us in and has made indigo a new neighborhood favorite. We enjoyed the chicken pakora appetizer, and lamb rogan josh and chicken tikka masala for entrees — all served with rice and naan(a fantastic value). Our server was very friendly and attentive. I plan to return the next time I’m craving Indian food.

Having attempted to eat here, the customer service of the owner and staff left such a profoundly bad taste in my mouth that I had to walk out with disgust. Although the idea of an under $ 10 meal is very appealing, it was not worth the dismissive and unfriendly nature of the experience. 10⁄10 will not go back.

Every time I’ve eaten in the restaurant over the years, the service and the food are terrific. Friends staff, attentive, reasonable priced. Delivery has been a little less consistent, with wait times a bit longer than I’d expect. That said on balance this is a solid neighborhood joint and worth checking out, especially for eat in.

This is the worst customer service I have EVER received. I ordered my food at 7pm. It is now 9:25pm and I still have not received my order. I called every 30 minutes and finally spoke to a manager. At 8:02pm the management staff assured me my food would be delivered within 20 minutes. It has not arrived an hour and twenty minutes later. I called the management staff again, and received an extremely rude response. I’m not sure if I will ever receive my food so I can’t comment on the taste. Especially considering that the restaurant closes in 15 minutes. I also think I should note that I’m not too far from the restaurant.

I’ve ordered take away from this restaurant many times and my last meal was so disappointing. Normally, I would give them another chance, but a friend also said they had a far from satisfying Indian meal from them as well recently. I have to think they’ve changed chefs which saddens me greatly. My sister and I both had the mulligatawny soup which was watered down. I had the chicken vindaloo, which was neither spicy nor did it taste like vindaloo. It tasted like chicken in a bland tomato sauce. My sister had the chicken saag and said it lacked the spices one expects from Indian cuisine. My roti looked like beige nan and was completely flavorless. My sister’s stuffed aloo nan tasted bland and didn’t have potato in it. The Prix Fix has gone up in price to $ 19.95 and is no longer«a deal». I don’t order in that much anymore, so when I do, I want it packed with flavor. In the meantime, I’m going to order from another restaurant. I’ll give Indigo Indian Bistro another try in like 6 months to see if it has reverted back to its former self and will get back to you. As far as delivery, they are quick and fulfill their orders as expected.

My bff lives practically on top of this restaurant, so we eat here just about every time I visit, and I have to admit I’ve been harboring jealousy about it for years. The food is always on point, delivery is fast, the location is pretty and cozy, the waitstaff remember you every time, and the kitchen is VERY accommodating. I’m vegan, and my lactose intolerance approaches the level of a superpower, and they are great about preparing things separately for me. Bottom line: this is the neighborhood go-to that you(I) wish was on your(my) corner.

Loved it! Went for dinner with a friend one night… got some Living Social Deal that was like $ 25 for an app, two entrees, one desert and two glasses of wine. First of all that’s a steal… then you get there and the service was sweet and pleasant, food was GREAT and even better… we decided to have another 4⁄5 glasses of wine… with tip and tax we paid like $ 40! Impossible! It was unreal. Try the Saag Paneer, it’s some of the best I have had. The place is not glamorous but it is good food!

Came here on a groupon deal. There’s a separate menu for their groupon deal. The people that work here were really nice. We had the chicken makhni and another entrée with lamb. They were both really good. It was the right amount of portions. Definitely get another order of naan from what they provide on the groupon deal. Would come back here.

I did the unthinkable yesterday and ordered on Seamless BEFORE I read the reviews here on Unilocal. Then I read the Unilocal while waiting for my food to arrive(so dumb!)… and as I waited, and read on, stories of one delinquency after another sprinkled among the positive reviews, I became very very scared. What if my food never comes? What if it is awful when it does come? What if my chicken is dry? What will I do then?!(Imagine my face spinning around on a pinwheel of terror!) Well, my fears were mostly for naught. Food came right on time, still hot on arrival from a very polite delivery person. And everything was really good! The chicken in my tikka masala *was* just a little overcooked, though not unforgivably, and there was a lot of it(which is not often the case with lunch specials). AND the sauce was SOOO good that it compensated for the ever-so-slight toughness of the meat. The vegetable samosas were delicious. I normally go for a meat samosa, but these satisfied me 100%. They were even good after being reheated in the microwave! The only thing I would have liked better is if the lunch special could come with a small side of raita. I hate paying $ 4 for a whole tub of it when I just want one of the little 50-cent dealios. Overall I think this is a killer lunch. One I will definitely try again(fingers crossed)!

So I was really concerned about the delivery guy because my lunch that was ordered at 11:45 didn’t come until almost 1:45. So for all you home-gamers out there that is a 2HOURDELIVERYTIME. The food is good enough but if you would like to eat before your next meal then I would have reservations about ordering from here. I am just glad the delivery guy is OK, I thought he may have fallen off his bike.

Ordered delivery from here. They have fast and decent service, no spilling of food en route, and lower prices than some of the other Indian places in the neighborhood. However, the quality of the food just wasn’t quite there. I ordered the dinner pre-fix which includes an appetizer, an entrée and nann for $ 15. I got the Lamb Vindaloo and Chat Papri which has whole wheat crisps, chickpeas, and chutney. The Chat Papri had way too much whole wheat crisps completely around on the bottom of the dish. The crisps were also soggy. The chickpeas were on top of the crisps but the proportions of chickpea to crisp meant I was getting way too much crisp and not enough of anything else. The Lamb in the Vindaloo was a bit tough to chew and the sauce tasted a bit too tomato-saucey. Overall, one of the least inexpensive Indian places in the neighborhood for dinner, but the quality of the food suffers comparably as a result.

AMAZING food at an EVENBETTER price? There is an Indian food god, and he hides inside the walls of Indigo. First off, HUGE shoutout to their delivery service because my dinner arrived at my door in 15 minutes(even though Seamless said 30 – 45) and it was PIPINGHOT! No joke, so hot that if the Indian food god himself cooked it in my kitchen and brought it to my tongue I’d believe it. Anywho, they offer a delivery prix-fixe menu for $ 14.95. LIKEWHAT?! SOCHEAP, and the amount you can choose from… WOWWOWWOW. I got the chicken tikka appetizer which had quite some hefty chunks of chicken kebab that were very good. Of course who would I be without getting my beloved Navrattan korma and let me tell you, I eat this dish all the time from tons of restaurants, and this was… by far… the one that had the most vegetables packed into it. I topped it all off with my favorite, onion naan and man oh man are my stomach and wallet happy. Indigo, I will Seamless again. Over and over and over and over and over, until korma bleeds out my pores.

Came here on a Thursday night, the place was really empty — considering the space is pretty large. By the time we left there were only two other parties at the restaurant, but the entire time we were there, they were getting phone and seamless orders. There was only one person at the front of the house doing everything, waiting on us, taking phone orders, processing orders, etc. I was very impressed with how she handled herself, she wasn’t the most friendly waitress, but considering how busy she was and how she was doing EVERYTHING, she was very attentive and still very helpful. When we ran out of water, she noticed right away. There is one bathroom in the back, it’s small, but clean. The restaurant itself seemed pretty clean as well. The Food — tasted very authentic and was very spicy! If you can’t handle spicy, order your dishes very very mild. Samosas — loved how flaky and crispy the outside was. The sauce was also amazing, a little spicy and a little sweet and sour. Chicken Tikka — we got this medium spicy, and I would say this is really spicy at other restaurants. I loved it, but my husband is a little more sensitive to spicy, so he was drinking A LOT of water, I think he would have enjoyed it more if we got it mild — but the flavor was still delicious. Chicken Vindaloo — same deal here, flavor was amazing, they give a good amount of chicken — maybe even too much if that is possible. I got it very spicy, and it was indeed VERYSPICY! Chicken Stuffed Naan — fresh and delicious I have zero complains about this place. Waitress was very good at her job. Food was excellent. Restaurant was clean. I would like to say my husband had a stomach ache for three days straight — each day he was eating his left over Chicken Tikka — honestly not positive it is from the Chicken Tikka, but we think it is, and I just wanted to mention it in case anyone else had stomach issues with the food … I didn’t have any stomach issues, but nothing really gives me a stomach ache. I would be interested to try the Lunch Specials on the weekend or the Lunch Buffett on weekdays — if the food is the same, I feel like it would be very reasonable and delicious! Will have to find another friend to try with me as my husband no longer wants to eat here
