Poor customer service! I went to Humanscale to buy a chair on a weekday right at 5pm. The large space with a front desk/reception area was almost completely empty except for two men who worked there who were sitting in a corner at one of the humanscale desks next to the empty reception desk, chatting and laughing(didn’t seem very professional). I was clearly waiting and they saw me, but they ignored me for ten minutes until I had to interrupt their conversation to ask if someone could help me. They were very unfriendly. One of them asked if I was interested in buying a chair«today» and«right now” – I said yes, maybe. They said they would see if they could find someone who could help me. Fifteen minutes later a salesman came out and said they were closed. I said I did not live or work in the area and had come specially because I needed a new ergonomic chair for back problems. He said he was leaving and gave me his card and said I could try any of the chairs in the empty showroom(with the lights off). Very unhelpful and unfriendly experience overall, and you have to make an effort to get there(it is on a high floor) with very inconvenient hours(difficult for working people) Also, I had previously purchased one of their Freedom task chairs from another vendor – it gives no real back support unless you lean back into it– not good for typing or «tasks», which is what it is supposedly designed for. Very expensive, too. If you are going to pay that much money a product should not disappoint, and the company should have people working for them who are professional and polite and represent the brand in a professional way. In short, I would not recommend the unfriendly showroom or the chairs.

I use a freedom chair here at the office, and its great! on the pricey side, but so worth it if you spend the better part of your day seated. looks are pretty plain, but very sturdy.
