Breakfast review– go somewhere else. Why? Pancakes tasted doughy and floury. Could only eat ¼ of one and gave up. My friend had a bagel with capers and lox. Capers were $ 1 extra, no big deal. Capers were not added initally. When sent back it took 10 minutes to add capers. Guess how many capers he received? 1. It took another 10 minutes to get more. Bad food, slow service. We left.

The food was great, once we got it. The service was unbelievably slow even though the restaurant wasn’t even 1/3’full.

I stopped by Hill & Bay for trivia night(Mondays, 8 p.m.) and had a really fun time! The winner gets $ 50 off their tab — sadly not me this time. Questions were on the doable side and crowd was laid back. I was even able to make a reservation for a table, but it’s possible to walk in. The manager was really nice too. We got the nachos(pretty good but could use guacamole. They only had avocados as an option); cold brew(yummy); tater tots(good but you it’s really hard to mess those up) and a BBQ turkey burger(great!). The mac and cheese and other burgers that people were ordering looked amazing. Definitely on my list to try next time!

This place is one of my favorites. Food is great. Relaxing environment and the servers are always nice. It’s def one of the best places in the area and they seem to keep improving the quality and menu. Glad to have them in town.

Love this spot! In NYC for Memorial Day weekend and stayed with a friend literally next door to this gem. Thinking we would be trying a new place everyday, we are here 3 days in a row. Nice and chill atmosphere with great service. Bonus points to the good looking waiter with nice eyes! Really enjoyed all of our choices from the French toast to the egg scramble. The mason jars are adorable and the coffee was perfect. My rule, I need good coffee and good food to enjoy breakfast and they did all that right. Will I be back? Absolutely!

Hill and Bay(Hill and Bae?) has been my go-to coffee spot for a while now, and the most solid brunch spot in Murray Hill. And it’s now become my favorite bar! I had birthday drinks there with a bunch of girlfriends recently and it was perfect. The staff and manager Scott were super accommodating and friendly. Their bar is quaint and cozy and there was a fun Saturday night crowd. We’ll definitely be back next weekend!

«You used to call me on my cell phone…» While Hill and Bay is still my go-to in the area, it feels like it is going through some issues. The food is delicious as ever… sorta. They shifted their menu a bit and it isn’t as good as the old one. Idk what’s gone on behind the scenes but most of their staff has turned over in the past month. I miss the coffee window guy. Hill and Bay is still the best option in Murray Hill, but it is no longer a destination I’d tell friends they have to check out. I hope they right their course.

The hot chocolate chip cookie sundae is lethally good! If you’re looking to break your diet, look nowhere else. It’s a cookie and it’s a sundae! Don’t miss it!

Passing by and the coffee window caught my attention! Thought why not give it a go and glad I did. They even serve flat white here which I am sceptical about ordering in USA as not many do it well… but… this place does! With a little extra hot milk(which I requested) the coffee was great. They certainly matched many coffee spots back home in Oz. looks like a great spot to eat too but we didn’t have time to eat so the window was perfect. Only lost a star as I had to have milk added to really perfect the Oz flat white!

The atmosphere is very nice and the food is good. The turkey burger was a bit dry. The side orders were large and tasty, my friends and I ordered tater tots and sweet potato fries. I got the Hangover Helper and it was tasty. I rated this 4⁄5 stars because the service was only okay. We waited a bit to get a table and the King’s Peach mocktails were $ 7 and tasted only okay. Other then that, it is a good place to catch up with friends and eat American food.

Certainly not a destination but a decent neighborhood place for a bite to eat and a drink. I had a sriracha vodka and pickle brine martini with stuffed olives and enjoyed it. Everyone seemed to agree that the food was OK. Not special. OK, maybe good. I was a little disappointed that my burger was brought out without the bacon which came separately after I asked where it was. Sorry but the taste is not just the same. Other than that, our server was fine.

We sat down on a Saturday pressed for time. We ordered the avocado toast, French Toast and the HB Benie. Bc we were pressed for time I asked that they bring out the dishes as they were ready. 30 minutes later, still no food and the girls that walked in after us are eating. How long does it take to make avocado toast? Are they slow roasting the bread? Are they waiting for the avocados to ripen? The reason I think the server might be to blame is bc I’ve also been sitting here for 20 minutes with an empty water glass. I’m literally writing this while I wait. After 10 more minutes and two more tables getting food we walked out.

Solid spot on 2nd ave close to the hospital if you need to get some fresh air and a walk. The brunch menu covers the gambit of burgers to eggs to salads and has something for everyone. I chose a burger and a cup of jo with a Bloody Mary to boot. Salads and muffins rounded out our orders. Great cup of coffee by all accounts… Choose either light or dark roast. Service was prompt and friendly by both the waitress and the bartender. Even as the lunch crowd filled up the restaurant, we were never made to feel left alone. Prices were on par with the averages around so no worries there. If you need something to hold you over or even have a big appetite, you’ll do well to come here.

I love this place! Walked right in on a Friday night at 6ish with 2 other friends(no reservations). By 7:30, it was a full house. Their salads are delicious and the Mac and cheese with bacon was very tasty as well. The spinach dip was pretty good too. Happy hour was until 7($ 4 house wine) but the wine was just ok. Service was excellent. We will be back!

This glorious breakfast sandwich is called the H&B Hangover Helper — eggs, pepper jack cheese, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, chipolte aioli on a fresh brioche bun. The potatoes had a fantastic seasoning, with perfectly sautéed onions. And don’t even get me started on the coffee. This place has it all — even a coffee/smoothie walk up bar for those who smell the aroma and are smart enough to follow their nose while walking by. I did notice the smoothie menu was quite large, and had the option of adding booze! The atmosphere, staff and food were fantastic — I highly recommend Hill & Bay.

I am a sucker for shoestring fries and a tasty burger. There arent many options in the area across from the movie theater so if you are looking for a beer on tap, fully stock bar and burgers, I would give this place a try.

Came here for Brunch on a Sunday noon-ish. Was surprised that they have a very large secondary eating area in the back. The PROS: –The place is brand new and everything feels clean which is very nice. –The service was great and the servers were attentive. –The food is good and has some slight variations from the traditional brunch foods including fried tater tots that are served instead of hash browns/potatoes. The CONS: –The coffee always seemed a little tepid. Maybe it’s because I ordered decaf coffee so it was sitting out a little while? I definitely prefer my coffee hot and was disappointed that both the first cup and the refill were lukewarm. I guess I was a little shocked by this considering they kind of advertise themselves as a good place for coffee…

Walked into hill and bay during a rain storm intending to just grab a beer. But we ended up staying for a bite and asked the waiter what to order. He immediately suggested the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. I may shock you to say, I have never had a turkey burger, and I have never enjoyed a sweet potato fry! BUT when someone recommends it in their place of business above all else, you have to try it right? So we did… and holy sh*t that turkey burger was eaten as quickly as possible as well as those fries we gulped down. The sugary sweetness of those fries and the hearty meat-loaf vibe of the burger ughhhh it was definitely a bite to remember. Also the restaurant itself was kind of set-up strangely, the dining room in the back, bar and eating room in front and the bathrooms downstairs. but it was charming somehow and didn’t come off in a bad light. The staff was also a great reason to come back, very nice and on the ball.
