Hero Spa

If you just want a decently priced massage and don’t care about all the frills of a real spa then this place is for you. The actual massage was decent enough but I wouldn’t go back if I knew that the guy who gave me my massage would do it again. They had about 3 – 4 other guys in the lounge so I would want to try someone new. The place is so small though so thats really what knocks it down a star. The rooms are down this tiny staircase and my room was the smallest massage room I have ever been in. This place really is no different than all the other men spas in the city so if I was in the area and needed a massage I would probably stop in again.

This place is great. I’ve been getting massages here for months. They are very relaxing… I highly recommend to the gay boys in HK.

Unregulated and Unlicensed «spa.» There’s no air conditioning or ventilation, the space wreaks of musk. They don’t take credit or debit, only cash and no one speaks English.
This place is not a spa, not a massage parlor, it’s nothing but a front. A front for what? I wouldn’t know, but they’re not paying the rent and staying afloat with their lower than sub-​average service.
I made a huge mistake coming here, I’ll highly advise that you stay away, stay far-​far-​far away.

I was incredibly impressed with how quickly I was able to get an appointment. 1 hour from when I called and just 10 blocks up the avenue. I asked for a deep-​tissue and all knots and kinks were worked out of my neck and upper back. Felt amazing! Will definitely recommend this place to others. :)

I had great experience here. My masseur Jack is the best. You have to ask for him! I had such bad shoulder pain, and he was so good at fixing it. Make sure you ask for pressure. It hurt a bit but it was totally worthy it! Most importantly I’m neither a robot nor someone hired by the place. I have to say it again, Jack is the best!

I was very happy with my massage here. Very pleasant Asian masseurs do a good job. Reasonable prices before 4:30 PM.

The décor isn’t great, it’s actually very basic. Watch your head on the way to the rooms. Some of the masseur are good at delivering the right pressure to suit your needs. Be sure to tell them how much pressure to use.

I showed up yesterday for an 11 am appt. Extremely excited about getting my well needed massage after a stressful work week. The masseur I had requested was not available so they offered another one or said I could come back today. I chose to come back today– this am again I was there at 11am for my appt, to find out my masseur Jack comes in at 1pm. And was told to come back. I will not! Nor will I attempt to make an appt here again and I will also advise my friends to do the same… U’ve lost a potential loyal customer…

I’ve been coming here for quite some time now and am always impressed with the friendly and professional masseurs. It is a clean no-​nonsense environment that is conveniently located.
I like very deep massage and they don’t disappoint.
The body scrub and table shower will leave you feeling awesome.
The price is excellent and they give you your full time unlike some other places that give you 50 mins and call it an hour.
I always float out of here relaxed and stress free.

Hero Spa is exactly what it is designed to be. A friendly, efficient, men’s spa offering solid massages at a value. I discovered the spa in 2015 and have been a loyal customer ever since. I’ve experience several recurring customer in the past year who know they’ve found their spot. Having read other reviews, I wanted to add another perspective with my review, because I feel strongly that Hero Spa deserves a shot.
For the price, the value is very strong. Located on a quiet block off a busy avenue, the lobby is unassuming but inviting. The massage rooms are basic, but at this price point, the focus is right where it should be — on the massage, not the décor. There is a large staff of skilled and friendly masseurs, and while its hard to choose your favorite, they’re all very accommodating to your individual needs. There are several new masseurs for 2016, all of which are worth experiencing for the different techniques they bring to the massage.
With special rates and convenient hours of operation, I recommend Hero Spa to anyone curious but not yet familiar with them!

Made an appointment at 3PM by phone. Agreed on the service and on the price. When I came to that place the receptionist told me that there is no one qualified enough to do waxing and that I should make an appointment. I told him that I already made it for 3PM and that was the reason why I came. He went to talk to his boss and then came back saying that his boss would be there in an hour so I should wait. Obviously people in new York have nothing else to do besides waiting for hours for someone to come and do what they promised. Not sure why they are still in business with such attitude and management. It’s also cash only.

I walked in and was immediately ushered into a room which was good, but I didn’t get to see or choose my masseuse. My masseuse, Vincent, was incredibly sub-​par; if he doubled the pressure, it would have maybe been okay. Unfortunately it really was just an hour of him using way to much oil and COUGHING THE ENTIRE TIME; I kept expecting him to excuse himself and get water or something, but no, he just coughed every few minutes for the entire hour. When I left the guy at the desk was apologetic and told me it was Vincent’s first day, but didn’t really offer anything to make it right and just said they would do better «next time» but I doubt I’ll go back especially since I am now $ 80 down with them.
The reason I still gave 2 stars is because despite a bad massage, I didn’t get hurt and there was no new pain, which can sometimes happen with inexperienced masseuses.

I have Eric did my massage. He’s excellent. I recommend him. He’s handsome and cute. I wil definitely come back for more.

Had a very nice 90 minute spa treatment today with Eric. Table shower, sea salt scrub & 60 min massage. Clean facility and great special pricing! I will come back.

Nice setup and a great location. The price is a little on the high end for this kind of spa but the guy I had today «Chen» did a good job except he used a cold towel to wipe the oil off my back. The second towel was nice and hot at least. The technique was relaxing but not really sensual. I left relaxed anyway and that was my goal. I will go back and try another guy to see if I can give it five full stars.

You know it’s a shame. This spa is located in a prime area with many gay men. Yet it fails to deliver. Massages are mediocre at best. And the price fluctuates even when you a frequent customer. With all the other competition. Best to try elsewhere sadly.

To begin, dont even bother buying a groupon, as this place has so many promotions, that you can probably get a better deal if you go there and give them cash. But before even thinking about going, please read all the horrible reviews that WERENT Written by the owners or friends of the owners, as those are more truthful
If todays experience wasnt so laughable, it would be downright horrifying, but becuse I cant imagine this place surviving past next year, I took it all with a grain of salt.
First off, the receptionist/​manager clearly has trouble understanding English, and simply said YES to whatever I asked him (scheduling time, type of massage, experience of massuese), so for your own sake, make sure you are satisfied that he understands you, and get whatever you can in writing
I had a total unsatisfactory experience there from even before I arrived. I was scheduled for a 5 pm massage and called at 4:15 to see if I could arrive at 4 :30 and he told me «no Problem». With only 2 masseuses working that day, one would hope he would have a grasp on the schedule but no, i was forced to wait 45 minutes, and was then led into a cold, damp room that they use for showers (i dont see any photos of that room — for good reason). I had TWICE requested a strong masseuse for deep tissue massage but they sent in someone half my size, and I even though I told him to focus on 2 body areas (my neck and lower back), he seemed to do whatever his routine was without any focus to those areas. I told him 4 or 5 times that I needed much more pressure and to please focus on those 2 areas, and he said ok, but continued to do whatever he wanted. After 10 – 15 minutes of continuing to ask for more pressure and to focus on those areas, I asked for another masseuse, when he told me he couldnt do any stronger. Seeing that I would have to wait at least another 30 minutes, or likely more given their past scheduling issues, I declined and walked out and spoke to the manager and asked him to give me my groupon back, so I wouldnt be charged. He proceeded to pluck it from the garbage can and it was sopping wet, so I told him that as long as we UNDERSTOOD that it wasnt to be redeemed since I never received the proper service that I didnt need the hard copy. He agreed and I left, only to find out that he had already redeemed it (that was why he threw it in the garbage), and when i called him to confront him about why he lied and told me he didnt redeem it, he tried offering me a free massage, and I told him I would NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN, EVEN FOR FREE
In short, I cant imagine there are any licensed massage therapists that work there, the place is seedy and disgusting and based on what I read from other reviewers, this seems to be a male «happy ending place» so anyone looking to get a real massage should go elsewhere. Finally, as other posters have warned, be careful on hidden charges and mandatory tips, as well as ripping you off on your allotted time
to anyone looking for a REAL massage experience, there are at least 10 place within a mile area that will offer you a real experience, not like this seedy underground place that is like Times Square of the 1970’s.

What an awful experience. In the middle of my massage, I asked to use the bathroom. My «masseur» William brought me a plastic cup. I had to pee in the massage room while he waited outside the door. The massage was cut short and when I tipped Williams $ 20, he and the cashier demanded an additional $ 10 tip. So that was a $ 30 tip for an $ 80 massage. At least the happy ending was good.

Honest review about the service.
When I arrived to this spa I said I have a groupon. The cashier and masseurs laughed. I don’t know what was funny :(They tried to convince me to pay cash for the service with Groupon price. I said no, I bought voucher online already. Then they stopped.
My masseur was okay, but I have been expected professional massage as a massage therapist. He applied too much oil for my body and also pressure was too much. End of the session I was greasy.
I preferred to go to the spa who is LMT not a masseur.

What a cool place. These folks have created a very comfortable spa to go get pampered — for Men only. Sometimes that is important, if you really want to relax and recharge.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. Some are even lit with extraordinary lighting to really set a mood — purple and blue.
Sometimes smaller is better, and this is the case here. No getting lost or forgotten at Hero Men Spa. Just friendly service, in a comfortable atmosphere.
