So good! The kind of food you wake up thinking about the day after. My party was a mix of latinos and white people with several vegetarians. The $ 5 mojitos were absolutely amazing. Individually hand crafted perfection could have you there all night. I had the monfongo de queso it was amazing. Others at the table ordered the garlic chicken, steak with onions and the Pollo Frito A La Criolla. The rice and beans were perfect con mucho sabor! The café con leche was perfect and the Dulce de Tres Leches was by far the best I have ever had! My daughter woke up asking if we can drive 3 hours to go back!

Had a great time! The sounds of the Cuban salsa in the background along with some patrons singing along and others having casual conversations accompanied by the smell of delicious food being created in the back together was a recipe for a great evening. The food was delicious and the portions were hardy. The service was great… Feeling of being in my abuelas house, offering me more food and making sure to keep the table cleaned.

Disappointed with dinner. My husband and I we looking forward to dinner there since our Cuban sandwiches to go for lunch were great. The rice and beans that came with the lechon were dry as was the yucca. I told the waitress about the yucca and she brought a new one out with the garlic mojito. The service was super slow even when we ordered dessert which is premade. Our waitress did not seem to want to be there. The younger waitress seemed full of energy and was happily greeting her customers but not ours. Also, there was no one there to greet you. We sat ourselves and the bathroom had toilet paper all over the floor. I say go for lunch and eat at the counter. By dinner time the food seems to be dried out.

I am currently at a birthday brunch for my sisters birthday and I have to say that the owner of this restaurant is not a real owner. We have a party of 35 people including children and they had only one waitress serving us. It took an hour to get the first drink and all the food was cold for those that got the food. The birthday girl was the last to be served after about and hour and a half. We the owner was approached he blamed the waitress and has never came to apologize. I will never eat at or recommend this restaurant again.

Had a big dinner party reserved and upon arrival nothing was ready. Service wasn’t on point. Guests helped the waiters set up the tables. Open bar did not start on time and closed early. Staff was rude except Angel who was a sweetheart trying to make up for the delinquent service by the others.

We were walking northward along Riverside Park and came upon this place. I like Cuban food. Mr. Joy likes happy hour. When we walked in, the place was pretty empty. We got a booth immediately. We each got a $ 5 mojito. They were pretty good! We also got a couple of sandwiches from their takeout menu, which they kindly brought to our table. First, the bread basket they brought us was filled with bread that looked like it was sliced up and haphazardly pressed in a plancha. It was also stale. Papa Rellena($ 3) — fried mashed potato balls stuffed with seasoned ground beef: What an interesting idea. First, it is one giant ball. It comes with a couple of tomato slices. The beef was pretty good. I just wish the mashed potato had more seasoning. Cubano($ 5.50) — roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles, mustard on pressed Cuban bread with plantain chips: This sandwich was okay at best. They use the same bread as the the one in the bread basket, also a little stale, which made the sandwich taste kind of dry. Pan con Chorizo($ 7) — grilled chorizo with caramelized onions on pressed Cuban bread with plantain chips: Same dry, stale bread. At least this sandwich had chorizo & caramelized onions, so it tasted spicy & sweet. This was definitely the better of the two sandwiches. Both come with plantain chips, which always taste pretty bland to me. If I’m ever around again, I would come here for a couple of drinks during happy hour(everyday from 6−10pm). The food, not so much.

Ive been past this place a few times, having eaten at Dinosaur next door. The food was good but I think it definitely couldve been better. I dont know why but I expected to be less than it was. The chicken was lightly seasoned and fried to a nice golden crisp. The yellow rice sadly tasted plain. It was a bit on the over-cooked side but the beans helped with the flavor. The bread our waiter brought to the table tasted stale. Though toasted, it was super crumbly and I barely wanted to finish chewing the bite I had taken. Lastly, I tried some Honey Sangria they had cooked up with some Honey Jack Daniels. It was easily the worst sangria I had ever tasted. I would give this place another chance because I love Cuban food and I would try something else on the menu. I also liked the service our waiter provided. He was very attentive and provided just the right level of service without being overbearing. The food came up to about 70 bucks for 2 meals, an appetizer and 2 drinks. I think thats just about right for what we had. I can only hope that my next trip is better than this one.

Service was great, the food not so much. The shredded beef was chewy, my boyfriend had to spit it out into a napkin because it just wasn’t working. Rice and beans were cold. We ordered a tres leche cake for dessert and it tasted like it’s been in the fridge uncovered for 3 weeks. Terrible, just terrible. Will never come back. I’d rather wait next door at Dino BBQs for 2 hours instead of eating here

Visited this restaurant for my book club meeting and I can say that overall I like this place. It was pretty empty when we arrived on a late Saturday afternoon. There was only one waitress working and it took her awhile to come to our table. We finally gave our drink/appetizer orders but had to ask for bread which we noticed was placed immediately at a table of people who arrived after us. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria(it’s $ 6 every day for Happy Hour) and I have to say that I liked the Sangria — good flavor, ample fruit and it had a kick to it. For apps we had the plantain chips with guacamole and the grilled sausage. Both were very good although the guacamole could have been a little more spicy for my liking. For entrée I had the grilled shrimp with yellow rice and red beans. Everything was very good — although for some reason it seemed to be lacking some sort of seasoning but it was good none the less. Two book club members had the Ropa Vieja and one had the Baby Churrasco. They also enjoyed their meal, although the Baby Churrasco was well done instead of medium as requested. I would go back to again as I think it was good food at a good price.

This place is meh for me. They give you toasted white bread to start. I shared a potato croquette thing with my partner and we also each had an appetizing empanada. The food is ok. It really does feel like the food was made way early and simply reheated. Also, my churrasco steak was supposed to be sizzling(I was thinking like a fajita) but it wasn’t. I would give it 2 stars but bumped it to a 3 bc my partner liked his dish. I would give it the extra star for their super hot habanero sauce. But it was actually too spicy to eat. Oh but subtract a star for the not very good white sangria. The apple pieces were super soaked in alcohol but super bitter. It was only $ 6 but still… I can make a better sangria!

It is s very nice spot. I can’t say that it is a very clean place but food is delicious. Not what I expected but it is just ok. Our waitress was very rude because I asked her two times what did she say. She had a very strong accent and started to show an attitude right away. I asked her for recommendations and she said«choose whatever you want» and started to talk with people from a different table. No customer service. Portions are very huge. We order a stew and a steak… We didn’t finish it because it was too much for us. I heard they have music every other night, so I want to come back but would try to avoid this waitress.

I loved this place. I came with my girls after church for a Sunday brunch. I don’t normally venture too far outside of Lennox when branching but this place is worth it. It sits right on the water. The food is perfect. The prices are the best I’ve seen in Harlem. I will definitely be coming here again to experience it at night and I can’t wait!

My friends took me out to dinner on Monday night and they gave me the option of barbecue or Cuban food since they’re right next door to each other. Well, I can get BBQ almost any time but Cuban food, that’s another story. And so we ended up at Floridita and I’m super happy with the choice. The pernilito! It was so good. It was so large. It was delicious. Cooked to perfection, you didn’t even need the knife they served it with because the pork just pulled off the bone with your fork. It was all I could hope for. The yellow rice and black beans that accompanied the pernilito were good although a few grains of my rice were crunchy.(Maybe I got a bit of the concon from the bottom of the pot and I should brag.) Anyway over all, my meal was delicious and I had leftovers to savor the next day! I really hope to make it back to Floridita to sample more of the menu. Based on this first visit, it will be quite the treat. Oh, and get ready to practice your Spanish, you might need it!

Came here for a birthday dinner. Two of us arrived before the rest of the party and we brought a cake to surprise the birthday girl. The staff was very accommodating. They hid it in the back and waiting until after dinner to bring it out with a candle(we didn’t bring a candle, but somehow the found one). Services: It was a Friday night. So, of course they were really busy. We started with drinks off the happy hour drink menu. Mojitos $ 5, Sangria $ 6 and there was something else I think for about $ 8. I went with the red Sangria. Now it was a totally of 8 of us. Our drinks took about 10 mins or a little more to arrive after we place the order. Then after placing our food order, we waited about 20 to 25mins. Food: When the food finally came out, it was seriously worth the wait. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The food taste like a someone’s grandmother from Cuba is in the kitchen cooking. It tastes like good home cooking. Two of my friends did complain that their meal was a bit salty. Entertainment: The music was ok, well it was spanish. Around 8:34pm the live band started. It was a really nice touch. The lead singer sounded good and it gave the place a nice soul feel. Would I go back? Yup I sure would. It’s also great that they deliver. Do I recommend it to others? Oh yes!

Came here today and enjoyed an extensive dominican breakfast with a cortadito and all. I love how they let you relax and pretty much it’s like you’re at your house and they are simply your hired hands. I can’t rave enough about this place as my destination for a «home cooked meal»

It is unfortunate to have to rate this place as a three because it could potentially be a four if they had better service. You have to try so hard to get some assistance even if its just for a water. SERVICE Truly horrendous especially in comparison to their other spot in Dyckman NYC. Be prepared to order what you want for the entire night because you might be waiting just that for the server to come back FOOD Amazing food!!! I always love their food. I tried the tostones with steak on there and it was absolutely delicious. However, my friend and I split the arroz con pollo and there was hardly any rice. We had chicken with some rice opposed to rice with chicken and it was rather soupy which is disappointing. Although, the food was still delicious. Very seldom do I go to this restaurant and not like their food, they are consistent with that. DRINKS The white sangria is SOGOOD and was also made very strong when I went [on a thursday night 9−11−14]. OVERALL Good place to eat, solid food, great music [very hispanic so I love it] but it is a little loud but bearable. I do recommend it as a place to eat. AND they have great bread =]
