My favorite place for lunch. Good selection of soups, sandwiches and salads. Simmers are awesome.

Not for people with a height disadvantage! Absolutely ridiculous went there during the lunch hour rush, I get it, it’s lunch and it’s super busy. Joined the soup line/queue, when it way my turn and the server waived next person in line I stepped up to place my order and was completely ignored by the first server who proceeded to take the order of the person in line behind me, and they ordered a soup like I wanted, stepped over to the next server when they waved next person in line, said hey I’m next in line with a friendly smile, she told me to wait and took the order of the next person behind me. This continued down the server line until finally I got one of the two soups I ordered by taking one that was prefilled, which in the end was a mere meh… I don’t get it, am I missing something here? Sorry but for the prices they charge there should be slightly better customer service. #soupnazi #nosoupforyou #seinfeld

Love the food but I just wish the lines weren’t as long. I usually have to take a late lunch whenever I’m in the mood for H&H. Workers are very friendly though.

zero customer service. Food is ehh. You’d think soup wouldn’t be this difficult.

The staff is great!!! This is my favorite Hale and Hearty location and a perfect lunch spot for people who are gluten free.

Love the soups and there’s a good selection as well. The only downside is that it gets very crowded at lunch time. I recommend going either for an early or a late lunch! Avoid rush hour! It would be nice if it was open during the weekends as well!

This place is great, pretty much standard Hale and Hearty food, but the staff is what makes it special. They’re always incredibly helpful and genuinely friendly. They will cater to any request you have. The two managers are superb. I believe ones name is Clive. He kept an eye out for the lobster bisque that I was looking for for weeks. Thanks!

I’m a huge fan! I come here often for lunch. It’s pretty close to my work, and I love having a ‘lighter’ lunch so the rest of my day continues to be productive. And, despite some of the reviews pointing out how crowded it gets, I’m in and out of the place within 5 – 7 mins MAX. Lines move fast!!! I get the ½ sandwich + small soup deal which, depending on the soup I get, can cost somewhere between $ 8 and $ 10. Personally, I like this price range because I have the impression that the not-so-healthy food tend to be cheaper. So, yes, I’d rather pay 10 bucks for lunch; at least I’m not gonna feel like ish. With sandwich I’m always consistent – I get half of a Balsamic Avocado Chicken sandwich, which is simply just shredded grilled chicken topped with slices of fresh avocado, finished with a drizzle of balsamic dressing, in between a nice ciabatta. For soup I like to switch it up here and there – I’m quite the adventurer, I know I know; I really like the Curried Cream of Cauliflower – a smooth, rich, flavorful almost purée-like soup which is PERFECT for cold weather. It makes me happy! I have also gotten the cream of broccoli, bourbon butternut squash, and shrimp asparagus bisque. All of them were absolutely delicious. Count me in as a FAN!

What better way to spend a chilly winter afternoon in the City than slurping away a cup of fresh soup! Pros: I love the fact that they there is a range options to choose from and they let you sample the soups. Their stuff is delicious, nutritious, and good value for money. Cons: The long lines everybody is talking about are not a myth!

I can’t believe I’ve never had Hale and Hearty before! I stopped at one during my lunch break to pick up a soup on a freezing day. It was just before 1pm and they were already«sold out» or had«limited quantity» of a lot of their soups(blame the weather, I guess). The location itself is tiny so it’s jam-packed. The staff is very quick and efficient so the line moves quickly. Overall, they have a large selection of soups and a made-to-order salad bar, with separate lines based on what you want to order. The prices are what bring my review from a four-star to a three-star. Crazy overpriced for a tiny little soup, I could get the same thing made by Progresso for a dollar…

Perfect place to grab a fresh soup if you’re vegetarian and in the neighborhood. The half soup and salad combo always works for me. Try the asparagus & spinach soup if they have it — trust me it’s healthy and delicious! Tip — they don’t press sandwiches, so if you’re like me and like hot sandwiches you’ll be disappointed. However, I’ll be back for the soup on a cold muggy day when my arms are full of shopping bags and I need a place to rest!

I am a soup lover so hale and hearty is the perfect spot for me. They have so many different kinds of soups so you’ll never get bored. The staff at this location is friendly and quick. They let you sample as many soups as you like. I usually go with the chicken vegetable or the ten vegetable soup and they usually always have those options in the soup to go section so you can quickly grab and pay for it without waiting on the long line. I use my hale and hearty card and get a soup for free after you buy ten.

Got out of work early, in the cold and rainy evening, ideal for a hot soup. I stepped in, the place was empty. I was able to see steam coming from the soup vessels. The service was quick and cordial. Roasted butternut squash soup. Hot and delicious, nutty and a hint of sweetness. A hint of black pepp gave it the final touch. I would definitely avoid lunch time. Lines can get long.

Why do I like Hale and Hearty soups so much because it’s easy, convenient, tasty and somewhat healthy(depending on your choice). Located near my office with a hop and skip and I am there ordering my lunch. Be warned during the lunch time or some may refer it to as the lunch time rush there is long line for soups, salads and sandwiches. Of course, I am not saying there is a line out of the door but is it fairly busy during that time. As you walk in the door there are few chairs and tables to sit. It’s very limited so you might need to wait if you want to eat in or just take your lunch to go. If you in the mood for a salad you will be able choose the base which is between spinach and lettuce. They come in large or small salad bowls. The difference between the two sizes would be the prices. They are about $ 1.50 different. Of course I always opt for the small size since it’s more than enough for me to feel satisfied. In the fridge or cooler area where you would pick out your salad bowls with the base you will be able to choose from pre-made Cesar chicken salads and other types of sandwiches. I never choose any of those since I always like adding various other toppings to my salad. Now for the salad, you can either choose from chopped or tossed. I choose tossed which leaves the more fresh. That’s just my personal view. They have abundant of choices for salad mix-ins from different proteins to salad dressing and nuts and well you get the picture. I personally have to be clear with my directions with salad because some employees will mix in the wrong dressing. You wouldn’t know until you get back to the office. That has happen to me many times. Make you ask for the salad card. If you eat here as frequent as I do you will benefit from the card. They have amazing selection of soups and salads. My favorite is the tomato cream soup with risotto. It’s creamy and might I add yummy… you can add a half sandwich for extra $ 1. Try the turkey walnut pesto sandwich. It’s their best, sometimes I truly crave it. Make you to ask for your soup card as well. It’s different from the salad card. The four stars is because of the employees. Sometimes you get the most rude and careless employees and other times you will get the best. In my opinion it’s hit and miss but I understand it’s a lunch time place not a any five star restaurant so I am some what able to deal with it. Even if they get the my salad dressing wrong… Overall the place is clean and tidy.

My go-to lunch spot by the office. Healthy, fresh, fast, and easy. There are lots of locations for H&H, but this is one of the best. They also churn through people at a pretty impressive clip during the lunch rush.

Stopped here for a salad. Pretty standard. A large salad is about $ 10 with 5 toppings. It was quick, convenient. I liked the lemon vinaigrette dressing. If you ask they’ll let you sample some of the dressings.

Passed by this one countless times but never went in until more recently. I got a soup/salad combo(tomato basil, if you’re curious); both were very good. A great respite from pouring rain though I wish they’d had plastic bags for salad since my paper bag got destroyed walking around in the rain. Staff was all right, location is tiny but I found seating. If you’re in the right place, you can even charge your phone if you’ve got a plug for it. So long as I don’t run into a particular ex-client, I can go here regularly.

Yummy! My favorite dish is the Cajun chicken and chipotle half sandwich with 10 Vegetable soup! Ugh! God! The location is extremely small but the staff are always courteous and the lines move pretty fast. The only negative thing I’d have to say is that some of the homeless straggle inside during lunchtime and interrupt patrons. Otherwise, they have my vote!

I wish you the best of luck at 12:15 on a weekday afternoon. Sometimes the line is out the door(and then some) and even when you get in there, you’re standing against the wall sucking in your stomach for all it’s worth trying to just fit inside the miniature amount of space provided. But in the grand scheme of midtown lunches, it’s going to be crowded, but the food here is superb. Not terribly pricey for what you get, I’m a huge fan of building my own salad. The people that run that area are very nice(and very patient while people stare at the toppings going«ummmmm…mmm…uhh…» trying to figure out what they are looking for. Scoop sizes are decent; most things are pre-measured so you can’t really get screwed out of your ingredient of choice. There are a lot of good dressings to choose from, I’m partial to the low fat creamy Italian, which I have a very hard time believing to be low in fat with how much jiggle it exhibits. Order it on the side and feel instantly better about your choices. Even when you go back to the office and dump the whole cup in anyways, somehow the«they probably would have put more in if they did it themselves» thought justifies your choice and makes you feel better. Loop around, stand in another line, and pay your way out. My salad usually runs $ 10 and is a pretty good size, acceptable for a 1 or 2x per week spend. If you aren’t salading, or are doing both, as others have stated — the soups change pretty frequently and are hearty enough to be their own meal.
