Come here about once a week. $ 5 for chicken over rice which includes olives, corn, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and peppers. You can add grilled onions too if you like. Love the white sauce and the green cilantro sauce. The guy is very friendly and always has a smile. For $ 5 you can’t go wrong here.

Cheap, yummy, fast service, decent portions, and the cart looks pretty clean on the inside! This cart is great for halal food if you work in the area and are looking for a quick lunch. However, I would not go out of my way to come here if I’m looking for REALLY good halal food.

Was in the mood for chicken over rice and didn’t want to trek up to the halal guys and then wait in line. Found this cart on here( Unilocal) and decided to take the plunge. The cart had a handful of people in line when I showed up(good sign) and as people were served it kept a healthy line(good sign). Ordered a chicken over rice with some veggies and the standard white and red sauce. The guy inside was also super friendly. Got back to my office and dove right it. The chicken was some of the freshest I’ve ever tasted. The veggies were also just as fresh. My only recommendation is to get more white sauce as I didn’t do a good enough job mixing. The red sauce wasn’t anything special, meaning I thought it could be hotter. However, I do love spicy food so take that statement with a grain of salt.

This halal cart is simple and amazing. So amazing. It was the first one I tried because Halal Guys was too far of a trek, and I couldn’t find Rafiqi’s Halal Cart(another highly rated cart) because I’m an NYC noobie. My first visit here was more so as a last resort for lunch, but it was delicious and the man was SO nice(food carts can be intimidating for first timers). On a cool day, destined to experience the best chicken and rice, I made the trek to the notorious Halal Guys, to see what I(thought) was missing out on. Huge mistake. Compared to ‘This halal cart’(don’t know it’s name) it blew Halal Guys out of the water and is less expensive, AND is higher quality. I have no idea how Antonio W. described it as «no Halal Guys», but I can only assume his taste buds were not working that day. The other day I ended up trying Rafiqi’s, which was really good as well, but after just eating from this cart, I realized nothing compares and thought I should share how amazing and delicious this gem is on Unilocal! Side note — I have nothing against Halal Guys, but I thought it was going to be like magic in my mouth after reading all the rave reviews on Unilocal and from word of mouth, but I was left to be utterly disappointed and extremely, extremely confused.

really good, probably the best halal option around grand central. meat and vegetables taste fresher than most halal carts, and the cart just looks clean inside. the guy running it is also warm and friendly. I did not feel god awful after eating it, which is a huge plus. prices are standard for any cart. be sure to try the green sauce, something you don’t see all that often and adds a bit of uniqueness to the place.

This guy is very close to where I work. I’ve only come here a handful of times but each time I get a generous serving of some pretty great Halal. This is no Halal Guys mind you, but good for the price and convince of where I’m located. Each time the guy who runs it is super nice as well.

I am very particular about street food. It took me a over a year to finally give in. The food smells and tastes great. The guys are pretty friendly. I have had the gyro with lamb, chicken and the chicken over rice plates. It’s a good alternative during the weekday. Also, cheap!

I practically survived on Halal carts during my visit to NYC. I could be mistaken, but I believe this one was the first, and best, of the several I went to. The standard lamb gyro with white and hot sauce… amazing. A great way to get good, cheap food in NYC. I’m craving it right now.
