They keep canceling shows without refunding money. This place is a ripoff. They have been closed for months, but post tickets for sales for shows that they don’t have. They don’t answer their phone and sell groupons that have expired.

Worst club in New York City! Shows keep getting canceled and we can’t get our money back. They really need to take the lead from the other 20 clubs in NYC.

This is a sorry excuse for a comedy club. The only reason why I even went there is because someone was handing out free vouchers to go there with a two drink minimum. I had a much better time going to the Comic Strip.

Loved it. Don’t understand the negative reviews below. Got a good hour and a half of very good stand up plus 3 mixed drinks the bartender made generously strong for about a $ 50 night all together. Can’t beat that anywhere in New York. Got my tickets from a seller at time square.

I went a few times in the previous location, and I had a good time. The current location is a dump compared to the last location. The downstairs room looks like a small dungeon with no lighting or windows. It’s like management put no effort into making it look decent for guests or comedians. It doesn’t look professional at all. There were 4 comedians, and 2 were decent. They were winging it, with no real jokes or punchlines, just mocking the crowd. I would not come back.

Its a tough gig… Places like this live and die by their reputation and what makes it harder for them is that they usually only get one shot at an impression. That being said, I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that my experience was an exceptionally bad one and doubling my 1 star rating to 2. The front man at the door was really nice and though the waitress was efficient, thats all that I could say positively. Like most comedy clubs, they have a drink minimum so be forewarned. The performance was passable from a talent perspective but the personality of it was passive aggressive and not in an entertaining way. Think of that person you know who makes snarky comments because they KNOW that they are better than everyone else yet targets the less socially confident people to be friends with and control, if that person was a place, it would be this.

BEWARE! This place has guys roaming around selling tix. What they DON’T tell you is that you are not getting a ticket to a specific show. If you happen to show up when more than 50 of your tourist friends(no locals fall for this crap) also show up, your butt is left waiting on the street. The comedians were actually very good, but mgrs/front guys are lying bastards.

Terrible performance. All the comedians just asked everyone over and over their nationality and just mocked the audience, over and over. They asked at least 3 times the same questions and repeated the jokes.

a friend from CA was visiting NYC for the 1st time and a hawker selling ticketsfor this place in Times Square convinced them that we should go so off we went. a quite small and rather unimpressive cinder block basement venue. on a wednesday night comedy was in the back room with just a few small tables and a «crowd» of perhaps 15, so definitely intimate. 2 drink minimum as is customary — get beer. the cocktails were never exposed to ethanol as far as we could tell and were like $ 11. of the 5 comedians two including the«headliner» were quite good, 3 were kinda so-so. the good thing due to the«intimacy» of the place is there was plenty of audience interaction, and these comedians were not holding back at all, no comment about any audience member was too rude for them. lots of tourists due to proximity to times square. my previous comedy club experiences had mostly been in much larger venues where the comedians were on average a little higher level but the audience interaction level was much lower, so that part of this place was pretty cool

The comedians were really funny, especially the host! I take away one star because of their drinks, they weren’t mixed very well and are a bit overpriced. The space is a little tight but my date and I had a blast! :)

If I could negative stars I would! This place is a dump! I was walking in Times Square when I was approached by a guy who told me that Loui ck was performing. I happen to be a really big fan of louis c_k so I thought it was fate. The guy told me 20 bucks a ticket plus when you get in you have to order two drinks. It was midnight and I was ready to go home so I walked away and told him no thank you. that’s when he screwed me and got really creative. he told me that he was ending his shift and that he could discount the tickets 2FOR20. He knew that I was skeptical about the place so he even said that he would have walked to me to the club but he was ordered to stay on that block. he said that Louis CK was going to do in an hour and a half set which I replied was really long and asked if they were taping it? He went on to say that it was common for him to do a long set but that he as a known to cut it short depending on the crowd. feeling spontaneous I decided to bring my girlfriend to this place and buy the tickets(to add insult to injury yeah I was with my girlfriend). I made her walk a couple blocks in heels freezing cold, rushing to catch his performance. I walked in and was quickly escorted into a small room with about 10 people inside. I walked right out in asked to speak with the manager. I explained to the manager that I had been hustled by one of his employees on Time Square. I told him that he promised me Louis CK. at that point he laughed in my face and said Louis CK has never done a performance there ever. No refund, no apologies, just a laugh in my face. the worst part is that the manager knew exactly what was going on. he said that it happens all the time. for anybody in management looking at my review the guy is black and has tattoos on his neck young and in his 20’s(the hustler). there’s nothing funny about taking advantage of people and stealing their money. Shame on this place. Your supposed to bring happiness in people’s lives not rip people off! Stay away people!!!

People who left negative reviews are overly sensitive and don’t know how bars work in NYC. I’ve been to HA! twice with my boyfriend. We enjoyed both shows. The first time, the show was in a tight building that probably violated all fire codes in NYC. However, the comedians were hilarious! The show’s organizer told us that they were in the process of moving to a new, better location, and offered us discounts with his business card. Two years later, we returned to HA! Their new location looked so much better, more comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean. The comedians, especially Chris Clarke and Kenny Ortega, were hilarious. They impressed me so much that I made sure to remember their names. My boyfriend got Long Island iced teas for $ 11 each, I got a bottle of water for $ 5. People who aren’t from NYC, THESEPRICESARENORMALHERE. It doesn’t matter if the drinks are good or not… NYC clubs and bars regularly charge $ 10-$ 12 for one drink. HA! TELLSYOUUPFRONTTHEREIS A 2DRINKSMINIMUM. The comedians WILLPICKONYOU. They will pick on EVERYONE. Each room seats about 20 people. Of course it will be easy for the comedians to pick on everyone. Comedy is not for the overly sensitive people. The topics will offend some people, while others may think they’re offensive. If you don’t want to be insulted, don’t go. My boyfriend and I got picked on both times we went. We just laughed.

NEVERBUYINGFROMTHEM I will never be buying from them. While walking on 42nd between 8th and 7th. A sales man who works for them bombarded me with; «Guaranteed you’ll smile.» I ignored him where it then escalated to; «Have you even smiled all day? You need to know how to have a good time. You look miserable. YOUSHOULDGOKILLYOURSELF.» I never responded to the man in fear I was dealing with a psychopath. But I want everyone to know how highly unprofessional this place is, if they have these kinds of people working from them. I will never be buying from them, and have reported this young man to their site.

Went to nyc last weekend for a girls night out; originally had tickets for comedy cellar which I have been to multiple times before and always had a good show. Had to cancel due to another show we were seeing running over on time. Hoping to still see a comedy show we were approached by someone in Times Square selling tickets for this location. Thought we would give it a try(tickets were 15 dollars with 2 drink minimum at show). Show was horrible; I understand that often comedy doesn’t appeal to all people but out of all the 5 acts only 2 the crowd was laughing with. Drinks were very expensive and horrible. Even a small plastic cup of soda and ice was 5 dollars. My advice is to avoid and look for other places if looking for comedy. Wish I looked at reviews on here first. Tip: wheel and deal with the people selling the tickets in time square. We got them down from $ 30 a ticket to $ 15 each. For what we got for a show, wishing I tried to get them even lower! :(

We bought tickets for this place out on the road in NYC… worst mistake ever. The comedians were horrible… the guy told us they were from TV… not true. Don’t waste your money or your time

Order the«Come on Eileen» if you like tequila. It was perfect for my friend who wanted«just one drink, and I like tequila» Great atmosphere. Funny club, great bar owner, and dueling piano show on Friday/Saturday 8 – 10! It’s the latest Ha! Comedy Club venue, on Restaurant Row.

Had a great time Bought tickets of off«joe comedy» in Times Square for $ 10 each . Laughed so hard — $ 50 of laughing each. Place was divey in a basement. But was awesome. I was not expecting much but got more than expected. Excellent place to eat right up the road which I wrote a review on. I would go eat and hit any show — which starts every hour or so on Friday and Saturday night . They have two stages — one on upstairs and one in basement. Comedians roll through both of the stages and show lasts about 2 hours total. Two drink minimum and you are going to drop $ 45 for two of you. Well worth it. Stop by the Bourbon street for drinks afterward The negative reviews are from people with no sense if humor . Being from Detroit and traveling extensively around the world has exposed me to a ton of different things. Numerous living conditions in military has exposed me to multiple races. If you are uptight and can’t handle racial jokes /don’t go. If you understand its a joke /go and you will laugh . Obviously the negative reviews are from the people that got picked in by the comedians. Lighten up folks ! If you think NYC people are rude /then you probably won’t like it. M bride and I find the people in the city honest and funny in general
