Very nice place, I feel like in my grandmother’s garden, I use my laptop without problem, everyone use like a work space. I drink an Ice Soycap and I ate a Cherry pie, all very good. Decent prices, clean and fresh.

Friendly staff, a beautiful space with plenty of small tables and comfy couches, and great drinks! It was completely full when I got there, but I managed to snag a spot on the couch after standing around for a few minutes. I got the Honey Nut Latte, and although it was WAY to sweet for my taste, it seemed like a solid drink idea, and when I go back next time, I’ll just ask that they go easy on the honey. They have vegan baked goods and a creative food menu, which I always like in a sit-down café. The space was welcoming, and although it has nothing to do with the café itself, I had 3 great conversations with strangers in the space, which makes me feel like the place has great energy! There’s a sign that says customers should limits stays to 90 minutes, which I totally understand. No one really listened to it, but the people shuffled around enough on their own. Definitely will be back when I get a chance!

Fantastic staff, great space for a quiet chat with a friend or a work session. Reasonably priced, especially for the area. Their sandwiches are particularly good. Thanks so much, Grounded!

Loud, overcrowded, old, and shabby. Decent food options if you are stuck there for a while and coffee is okay. Maybe it’s not terrible on a weekday but I won’t be going there to find out.

Just an update. Same awesome review two years later. Do you have«that» place in whatever city your visiting, you will remember and come back to if you visit again? This is that place for me. Super relaxed atmosphere, clean. And the honey bee is beyond compare. I tried making it at home, ordering what would be comparable in other cities… Nope. Can’t do it. Next time I’m in NYC I need to stay closer to this place for my honey bee fix! I thinks it’s a combination of the honey. Maybe a woodsy taste? not overly sweet with whatever coffee they use… Smooth, not bitter. Yum yum!!!

My favorite coffee shop so far in NYC. Super comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Several tables and couches to sit at, greenery all over. Not only do they have delicious coffee(German Chocolate Cake is great!) they also have many tea selections as well as baked goods and meals – sandwiches and salads. There is a skylight in the center that lets in the sunlight. Some coffee shops you go to and feel like one time is enough, and you want to try something new, especially in NYC. Grounded is the kind of coffee shop that will keep you coming back time and time again because its awesome and there’s so many drinks you want to try! Definitely recommend anyone try it out.

I really live this coffee shop. Friendly staff, tasty coffee, great workspace(music isn’t too loud, wi-fi works perfectly) and ideal to start conversation with random people. This coffee shop really SCREAMSNEWYORK! I just spent 2 hours working there and it was extremely productive. It was my 2nd time but I’m definitely coming back!

The café was very good for these reasons! 1. Coffee The coffee is very good! If you like mild and soft taste, I suggest this café coffee for you! 2. Creative space The space is decorated with creative arts. I would go back to this place because I like such atmosphere. 3. Gentle barista It always feels great to be served by a gentle barista. I can tell that they are not here to do only business but to make friends and live life :)

I have to admit: I did not expect an oasis of natural light and cool ambiance as I walked into Grounded but Grounded is just that. It’s a chill spot that was full of people super focused on their laptops, on a Saturday early afternoon. So though Grounded has a coffee house look, it certainly is not a coffee house and I felt odd I wasn’t on a laptop working away… on a Saturday! Strange. But needless to say I was still intrigued by the ambiance and will recommend it for a cool catch-up date with a friend or loverrrrrrr, if you’re able to snag a seat for two. They have a unique list of «specialty lattes» and I felt like living life on the edge so I went for their honey nut latte(espresso, hazelnut, & cinnamon). It tasted just like honey nut cheerios which was simultaneously tasty and odd but it certainly satisfied my dessert/coffee craving. I tried my friend’s iced coffee and wasn’t really impressed with the taste. Is it better than sbux? Oh, absolutely! But is it the best? Not really. Overall this spot is cool to grab coffee and hang out(with a laptop) or to chat(quietly) with a friend.

An amazing discovery during my run in west village! I usually settle myself with a small cup of Americano however I cannot help but to order the signature honey bee latte here! Oh my, it was so smooth and hearty! Sitting inside its rain-forest like tea house with a cup of latte in hand was like spending the day inside a national park — I wish I could stay here forever. Unfortunately during their busy hours, there’s a 90 minutes time limit — now I can tell how busy they are during the day… Once again #honeybee

My boyfriend and I were in the area and we needed a place to hang out so he could take a work call. I found this place on Unilocal and I’m glad we stopped by. The teas are about $ 3 for a cup or $ 5 for a pot, and you can get a water refill on the pot of tea too! They have a ton of options for both tea and coffee, both decaf and full-caf, as well as other drinks like smoothies along with food options. Good music playing but not too loud so you can actually have a conversation. They also have free wifi. Check it out if you are in the area!

Every time I come to Grounded, I get that feeling of coming home after a long day and just wanting to unwind. This homey coffee shop is very much a place of relaxation. In addition to their inventive espresso drinks and delicious teas, they have a wide assortment of pastry options… all set in a gorgeously decorated space with lots of greenery and natural light, couches, lounge chairs, books, etc. It’s usually pretty crowded, with most people doing work or reading, so it may be hard to find a spot. At the very least, Grounded is worth a visit if you’re in the Village.

Location: Grounded is an independent coffee shop. It does have some west village characteristics — hippie but cultural. It is always packed if you are there after 11am on weekends. The inside is very down to earth, a sofa with several tables for dining or simply drinking their coffees. And the best part is that they have a bookshelf that you can find something to read if you do not bring your computer with you. Food: they offer variety of teas, coffee, and even food. Take your brunch partner with you! I like their coffee, because it is strong. Service: this is definitely a neighborhood coffee shop because it looked like their staffs know their regulars so well that they spend time chatting with each other while I was impatiently waiting since I have work to do. I knew that I would be rude to rush or even end their conversation, so I did not do it. But they seem to disregard me and continue talking for a while. I mean usually a short conversation which is 3 minutes would be okay but 8 mins and just hung me there waiting. Nope, unacceptable. This is New York, everything snaps, runs fast. So, pick up your speed and do your business fast. 3 stars.

One of my favorite cafes in the area. The atmosphere is almost magical… plants, bookshelves, couches, and perhaps most importantly, a skylight! Great place for a casual date, or for working/reading by yourself. The Nutella Latte is almost too good. It can get pretty crowded here but I’ve never had too much trouble finding a seat(seating more than 2 people might be a challenge at peak hours, though).

good coffee but wasn’t outstanding to me. I do like that they have a milk bar — with a variety of milk varying from soy to fat free. they also have a 2 hour seating limit, even if you buy more food/drinks. seems a little bit unreasonable especially seeing as they didn’t post any signs. so a cute place for coffee but not so much study-friendly.

Grounded is an independent coffee shop with plenty of seats, a down to earth vibe, and a solid espresso. With a gigantic menu of teas, coffees, flavored lattes, smoothies, sandwiches, and pastries, it has something to please everyone. Your requests for soy, agave, coconut, whole, skim, honey, etc are happily available and I love that everything is actually served in a mug or glass or plate if you’re staying in. The tea selection is awesome and well curated. I ordered a honey bee latte, which adds raw honey to a silky smooth yet potent espresso and a lovely velvet foam. It was sweet without being cloying and just the right size. I also ordered the oatmeal, which had big chucks of apple and was pretty hearty. The oatmeal was filling and was not watery. As I left, I couldn’t resist trying another menu item and ordered a black tea rose latte, which was amazing — smooth creamy milk and foam, a distinct tea and rose flavor, and just enough sweet to make it decadent but not overwhelm the tea. Major major kudos to the baristas — you are awesome at your jobs. Grounded has a mix of two tops, four tops, and bar seating, with a square of couches in the middle — I’m guessing it can seat 35, so larger than most coffee shops, but depending on time of day may be a bit crowded feeling. I didn’t count the outlets, but going by how many people were there with laptops for over an hour, I’m assuming there are enough. The majority of tables are two tops — that being said, its busy enough here that if you’re alone you should be nice and sit at the bar. Grounded is popular with locals, with a steady stream of regulars chatting up the baristas. They have a clean bathroom and wi-fi, just look around for the signs with the password. It is wonderful for a study date, casual business meeting, a quick catch up with friends, or some caffeine fueled meditation. Prices are Manhattan and justified. A latte will run you $ 5, so don’t bring your cheap friends or people who swear by Dunkin’ — the coffee, space, and quality are all worth it and designed so you pay for your time occupying their space.

Grounded’s inventive espresso based drinks will leave you anything but grounded. The sweet flavors float your sleepiness away. The coffee is high quality as well. The patrons are more of a local variety with a mixture of college students studying and conversing friends. My favorite beverages are the Sweet ‘n Nutty(i feel dirty) and the Honey Nut Latte. The furniture is eclectic: outdoor park benches, metal chairs, bar stools, and small round tables. Random plants are littered throughout because we humans are oxygen deprived. Weird art adorn the walls to follow suit with most hipster cafes. Credit card accepted and Wi-Fi is included.

Cozy coffee shop located in the beautiful West Village. Aesthetics are a bit awkward. Greenery inside makes you feel like youre in a jungle. If you catch a seat you are one lucky mofo. Place is ALWAYS crowded with parked human beings with laptops and books. Lots of plusses lots of minuses, they all can’t be winners.

Mmm Rose Latte Ladies? Yes plz found this on my walk to the new Whitney Museum in meat packing, small quaint café, with Mia matched benches and chairs, and quirky board signs and art display by local artists. Screams Brooklyn !! loved the Black tea rose latte, mildly sweet and aromatic rose and black tea. they ran out of the actual rose to top, boooo~~ o well but tasted great ;) Cheese ham croissant was good just like the ones from Ceci cela, and it was indeed.

Grounded probably doesn’t really need a review from me, but hey the wifi is fantastic and my husband is boring me right now so Unilocal if you got time, eh? Excellent coffee, great service and incredibly comfy welcoming vibe. I’m taking one star off because the bagels are not that great. It’s NYC there’s got to be better bagels. Oy. This is the kind of place that keeps you coming back for their excellent coffee. And thank goodness.

Was excited to try their matcha latte with soy milk, but it ended up tasting like a cup of warm soy milk. I barely tasted any matcha, and for the price I paid, it was definitely not worth it. I did enjoy the environment in the café, however. It’s a great place to do work in, and they also have a whole wall of shelves with books you can read. Next time I’m nearby, I’ll give this place another shot because of the great reviews. Just think twice if you decide to get the matcha soy milk latte.

Cool little coffee shop hidden somewhere in greenwich, with an assortment of books for customers to read. The place might be small, but there are plenty of seats for you to nestle in with a good cup of coffee. They also have wifi(which is quite slow). Fun fact: Broad City was filmed here! (Abbi’s art gallery show which turned out to be a sandwich shop which is actually a coffee shop.)

I came here looking for a café with wifi, and this was exactly that. Grounded has a nice assortment of sandwiches and coffees/teas, and is a pretty popular meeting place for groups of 4 or 2. There are also people who come here to do work, but the wifi(username and password past the cashier) is a bit slow. I tried their oatmeal, raisin and chocolate chip cookie(2.25), which had a few dashes of cinnamon and was really good. Tl;dr — decently priced coffee, good for working and chatting
