This doctor has hardly few years of experience and his consultation fee is 500 $. really? I have been to the best endocrinologist in NYC and doctors with even 25 years of experience don’t charge this fee. His staff is rude and impolite. I asked Dr Gregory dodell to refer me to some thyroid surgeon and he gave me some useless reference. That doctor was not even thyroid surgeon. I don’t trust either his treatment or his references. He asked me more questions about the investment bank where I work rather than asking question about my thyroid health. He did some blood tests for me and I had to beg to his staff to send the reports to me for my future reference. Not only this, even though my blood report came normal 2nd time and no change was required in my thyroid medication but still he wanted me to come to his office so that he can take the follow up fee. really? I feel bad that I ever went to his clinic.

Dr. Dodell’s office staff is extremely unhelpful and rude. I would not recommend Gregory Dodell if you are looking for an endocrinologist.

I found him to be mentally slow, with no critical thinking or problem solving skills whatsoever, and his comments showed a severe lack of medical knowledge, expertise, or just plain common sense. He has no consideration to the timelines his patients have, as he could only muster up a call(after badgering his incompetent assistant) with my much anticipated test results almost 3 weeks later. I came to see Dodell due to a significant(20 lb) weight gain over the course of 2 months(cause unknown but obviously I highly suspected thyroid/hormone problem) and a subsequent impeccable 2 month intensive diet and workout régime overseen by a trainer and dietician/nutritionist. However, over the latter 2 months, no weight loss was achieved,(again– implying there is a malfunction with my hormones.) After telling Dodell this 4 month saga, his first and only commentary was that«perhaps my one hour/day workout plan was considered „over-exercising“ and that was the reason for no weight loss for 2 months.» That laughs in the face of even rudimentary scientific common sense from centuries ago. He then ordered incomprehensive blood work for me. My whole session with him(despite waiting for 30 minutes while his secretary had a pizza party in the back room-for which I eventually had to interrupt) was a mere 30 minutes long. The first 30 minutes while I was waiting I wondered if anyone worked at the office as nobody was at the front desk. I had to ask the janitor if it was a working office. I waited for nearly 3 weeks for him to call me with the results(the secretary promised on a couple occasions he would call me with the results when he did not). When he finally decided it was worth his time to call me, I got a 30 second phone call saying all the results were«fine» and my 20 pound weight gain must have been due to stress. However, that does not explain the weight gain nor the painstaking and unrewarding 2 month process in which I lost no weight. This is where his inconsideration, insensitivity, and incompetence shine. There was absolutely no critical thinking to problem solve beyond what was on the exam and an oversight of actual evidence on the exam. If a patient is reporting this kind of circumstance, there is quite clearly a problem! Merely looking at results and stating«no problem» in the face of the circumstance is egregious and incredibly primitive. Since the horrible experience with Dodell, a real, competent endocrinologist has verified that Dodell’s tests were lacking and that I do indeed have a legitimate hormonal problem. Dodell is a true disgrace to the medical community for taking someone’s legitimate problems so lightly and charging a fortunate while he’s at it. I not only want a refund, but I want my time back I wasted making this appointment, waiting for the pizza party to be over, and the 30 minute BS session I had with Dr. Dodell. The absolute worst«clinician» I have come across in my life.
