I’ve come in here too many times since the original review and seen the same inventory sitting around. Years later I walk through the store and notice very little turnover for two simple reasons:
(1) the quality of antiques is far from what it once was when this operation filled the main church of St George’s years ago and
(2) everything is significantly more expensive than comparable items at Housing Works, Vintage Thrift, City Opera Thrift Shop nearby
I’ve tried venturing into a polite negotiation and the staff did not take kindly to it. If these items were worth their list prices they might have sold 4 years ago, I wouldn’t go out of my way to shop here with so many better options nearby on 23rd st.

SELLER BEWARE! This is not a normal consignment shop. The restrictive rules work against you. The leprechaun will try to get you to drop your asking price by telling you that your asking price is wee bit too much. They will sell your furniture for less than your asking price. How do I know, I was shorted on my price. A friend of mine went into the store and they offered him a sale price a week before the price was due to drop. I had to ask for my money 3 times and was finally paid a month after my piece was sold. If you want to buy a piece of furniture fine but I will never have them sell anything ever again.

This is my favorite vintage store for furniture. I was disappointed that they moved location, but I checked out the new space and it was a great move — lots more space for all of the cool finds. They’re always so nice in here too — and I’m allowed to bring my dog in! Bonus!

I contaced Gramercy Vintage Furniture about selling some antiques and they were very knowledgable and helpful. They have a fabulous collection of items and it is definitely the first place to look when considering buying furniture, homeware, decorative items.
