My coworkers told me that the crispy chicken was really good and suggested that I give it a try. Usually they are spot on, but I must say that I was really disappointed that it did not live up to the hype. The bowl for 9 dollars was a small portion for the price and the onions and rice didn’t really add to the flavor. The staff was friendly, but given the number of food trucks in the area, I will not be making a repeat visit.

Newbie to the FiDi area, during lunch I noticed large group of people around the cart. Decided to try it two weeks ago for the first time. I ordered a Bulgogi over rice — ehh, it’s OK, nothing to write home about. Last week I ordered the Crispy Chicken — again ehh it was ok. As some other reviewer said a bunch of pink onions & a piece of lettuce Kimchi doe not make. Oh and both occasions half hour or so after lunch I could not keep my eyes opened not sure what was in it — MSG? had to get up and pace

I got the crispy chicken and the spicy chicken combo and the food was delicious. I crispy chicken was nice and crisp and well marinated. The spicy chicken was not too spicy. I would have liked the sticky rice instead of the regular thick rice kernels.

Was looking to try something new around the office and stumbled by this cart, Korean fusion they say. I ordered the spicy chicken over rice, and took it back to the office. One thing I particularly loved about it is that it had a perfect amount of spice! Too often places are too afraid with the spice, I’m glad Fud-Hi doesn’t hold back. The chicken was of good quality and not too fatty or gristly. I’d say the portion size for lunch was perfect — not too big, not too small, but for the price they charge the amount of food doesn’t really match. I’ll probably return again, but you guys gotta do something about that kimchi — a pile of onions and a 1x1cm square of lettuce isn’t really«pickled vegetables» is it, now?

Good Spicy Chicken served on white rice with pickled onions. Spicier and tastier than if it was dunked in Frank’s Red Hot sauce, for those wondering how spicy I’m talking. But not spicy enough to make me sweat(yet). It was good and I’ll go back to try something else from this mobile food cart. They threw in a free chocolate chip cookie(nothing special about the cookie) but I would’ve preferred something more typical Korean to go with the cuisine, or at least a home made cookie. Just sayin’…

Crispy Chicken — The chicken was topped with some sweet brown sauce and white sauce. It was crunchy and moist. I didn’t like the type of rice they used. It’s not the asian type of rice that most asian food trucks have. It tasted like Carolina Rice, american rice that I am not used to eating. The sour onion and radish side was pretty good. Kimchi was alright but hey it was free. Will come back to try the other things on their menu. Note: Mondays — they have FREEKIMCHI.

On my mission to try every food cart in my work neighborhood, I came upon Fud-Hi today, looked it up on Unilocal and my fellow Unilocalers spoke the truth! Fud-Hi is a Korean Fusion truck with a pretty limited menu, but based on what they DO have the food is awesome!(at least based on the one dish I had so far, which I plan on coming back and trying another.) On a day on which they had a Spicy Chicken over rice($ 9) special, I ended up ordering the Crispy Chicken over rice($ 9) instead. DOH! As more and more customers ordered the Spicy Chicken I began to think, «What have I done?!». I mistakenly thought they were the same, but by the time I arrived back at my desk to eat my disappointment turned to pure bliss when I smelled and tasted the dish I ordered. I would say the platter size was medium as it came in a 6 inch tupperware. The aroma from the platter was mind-numbing as I couldn’t wait to dive into it. The rice was soft and perfectly cooked. The presentation of the food inside the tupperware was excellent as the scallions, onions and radish were neatly piled on the right, while the chunks of chicken were to the left with their Fud-Hi special sauce drizzled on top like a Korean Fusion Picasso. The Crispy Chicken was very crunchy, but the meat was soft, juicy and surprisingly some of the best fried chicken I’ve had in awhile! There were about 15 pieces of chicken so I was absolutely savoring every last bite! Although the Crispy Chicken over rice exceeded my expectations and had me rubbing my belly wanting more, I shall be back to conquer the Spicy Chicken(as well as the delectable looking Kalbi Burger with Fries!)

I am always down to try new food carts. I am so glad Fud-Hi is here everyday right in front of where I work. On a cold sunny day, I decided to try their spicy chicken over rice. The spicy chicken is really spicy. I can usually eat spicy food and enjoy it. I would say their spicy chicken is definitely not cater to American taste. If you can’t really eat spicy food, I would recommend you to get other dishes. The portion is not as big for the amount I paid. I guess I am just a big eater. However, they filled up their boxes with equal amount of chicken, kimchi, and rice. They don’t use regular white rice which I like. I think they serve Mexican rice? The kimchi is a little fusion where it’s not the regular«korean style». I still love it. The chicken was really flavorful, spicy and it is just perfect for the cold weather. I am surprise it actually fills me up quite a bit and it was not as bad as I thought. I just hope they have more vegies instead of just kimchi. They sell pumpkin soup as breakfast in the morning. That’s really interesting and I might stop by one day to try it.

I ordered crispy chicken on rice the other day from Fud-Hi aftee seeing the sign that they are Korean fusion food cart. The food was rather a mix between Taiwanese, Japanese and American. The chicken pieces were cut and prepared like the Taiwanese chicken nuggets. They were lightly breaded and the breading was similar to the Korean fried chicken, but the shape and form was closer to the Taiwanese type. The sauce was similar to the typical Japanese sauce they give you on okonomiyaki. The pickled salad that came with it looked beautiful and it tasted awesome. I want to try making at home now. I have to say that I was a bit surprised about the rice as I was expecting a Korean/Japanese rice prepared with a pressure cooker. However, it was the rice that you normally see at western restaurants that don’t easily absorb sauces and have a sweeter fragrance of its own. I personally would have liked the typical Korean rice with it, but I guess that’s why it’s fusion? The wait time is kind of long compared to other food places, so you might want to keep this in mind too and avoid the rush time at lunch if you want to try this place.

UPDATE — I have added the conversation where the chef accuses me of disseminating false information but I had to prove him wrong. He tries to pass off«parboiled golden rice» as brown rice.

Went here for the first time today at lunch. I got the Kalbi burger combo that comes with a small side of fries and bottled water. The burger was *really* tasty and even though it had iceberg lettuce on it(which I loathe and took off) I don’t fault them because I didn’t ask what came on it. The fries were nice and crispy and they gave me a side of traditional Koran hot sauce. The aspect I loved most about the burger besides the flavorful meat was the fact that they use a potato roll. Will definitely return!

The Fud-Hi truck showed up in the FiDi(Hanover Sq and Water st) one day and everyday I passed by it during lunch, there seems to be an endless line. That prompted an investigation to see why this place is so popular! I know there’s always going to be a long line on a good day so I went on the worst day possible(a super rainy Friday– cause nobody goes to work on Friday) and got myself a Bulgogi over rice box. NOTE: even thought the weather sucks but the cooks in the truck were still extremely pleasant and friendly– a big + in customer service! I got there and went straight up to the window and after a 5 min wait, I got my box, said thank you and went back to my office. The Bulgogi over rice lunch box($ 10) was huge, when I opened my box, meat was like spilling out Aside from the meat, there was the Kimchi salad– it was tasty, not too sour nor spicy, just the perfect compliment to the Bulgogi. The Bulgogi was super flavorful and the meat was NOT overcooked which is great! I didn’t get a lot of the sauce on mine but that’s okay, I thought the meat itself was flavorful enough. I think the only downfall to my meal was the rice– the rice was not the typical white rice, it is some sort of Mexican rice. Mine was really wet and I just think it didn’t balanced the texture of the Bulgogi very well. If it was the traditional white rice, it would be perfect! Price: reasonable– even though my box was $ 10 but it had enough Bulgogi in there to justify the price. Overall I enjoy my meal very much and I even had enough for dinner that night. The cooks were friendly and happy to serve. I will definitely come back and try the Crispy Chicken over Rice and the Kalbi Burger!

Fud-Hi is definitely one of the best food carts I’ve ever tried. I had Crispy Chicken over Rice and Kalbi Burger. The chicken was very crispy but not so greasy, and Sour Kimchi Salsa makes the dish just perfect. The Kalbi Burger patty was fairly juicy & fresh, but I wish they had some sort of spicy sauce.(It also comes with Kimchi Salsa, but as others mentioned it’s not as spicy as traditional Kimchi) This cart is definitely worth trying and I will come back for Bulgogi over Rice very soon.

Don’t be deterred by the short line — this place is great! I had the crispy chicken over rice and it was awesome. Compared to the other greasy trucks on this street, this tasted fresh and the service was on par. The only thing it needed was some spice — but next time I’ll ask for it. I will definitely be back soon!

From the lack of reviews this place seems like relatively new. Located right in Hanover Sq along with the half dozens or so of food trucks parked on the street. Prices are bit higher than what I expected for a meal but for the amount of food you get it is certainly on par. I don’t know if they raised the price on Bulgogi over rice since Victor’s review but its now $ 10. However it is a generous box with plenty of meat stuffed in. I agree with Victor and thought the sauce was a little dry. The meat was really tender however on its own but over that amount of rice I think is a little bland. The rice itself I thought was bit dry too reminded me of Mexican style rice where its not as moist as how our Asian rice usually are from rice cookers. The kimichi salad was good, definitely more of a fusion style than traditional Korean kimichi, as others have mentioned I think would be great if it was spicy to bring more taste to the bowl. Overall I think its a good truck for Korean food but if they could improve on these few things would definitely be deserving a 5 stars in my opinion. However its still well worth a try to break away from the typical Chicken over rice trucks :)

Whenever I am down this food cart always puts a smile on my face =). Chelsea runs the food cart and her hearty smile and food is enough to brighten up your day! Fud-Hi is a Korean Fusion Food Cart located in the financial district. The chef mixes traditional Korean dishes with Western flavors. For example Galbi Burgers and Kim Chi Salsa. There has been a lack of good Korean food options in the neighborhood and Fud-Hi fills the void beautifully. Since this is first review on this business I wanted to give a comprehensive review of all the items on the menu. As a result I have tried almost everything on the menu except the hot dog. Food: 1) Bulgogi with Kim Chi Salsa — Around $ 9 Traditional Korean dish that consists of grilled marinated beef. I personally do not think it is not juicy enough… a little dry. The Kim Chi Salsa has hint of sour rather than the traditional spicy. 2) Crispy Chicken Kim Chi Salsa — Around $ 9 This is probably the best thing on the menu… the chicken is absolutely delicious… not too greasy that you feel like you are going to have a heart attack, but tasty at the same time. It comes with rice and Kim Chi Salsa. 3) Galbi Burger — $ 6.50 The Galbi Burger is really good… you can taste a hint of the Galbi in the burger patty. The bread is buttered and is quite savory. If you eat A LOT then I definitely recommend getting the combo with fries and drink. 4) Hot Dog 5) Combo Fries/Drink — $ 1.50 Drinks are your typical sodas… wished they had Asian drinks, but sadly they do not. The fries look a little like Cajun fries. So if you are ever hungry stop by at this cart and you will probably see me there =)
