Really? Can’t understand all the good reviews. Subpar pizza.

Not really impressed. I’ve eaten from here a few times and that’s mostly because I’m either broke or the weather sucks. The pizza is so-so but the staff is quick, friendly and they work hella efficiently. You never wait more than a few minutes for your order. Their price for a buffalo chicken slice is like 4 $ and unfortunately it’s nothing to rave about. But maybe that’s because I’m biased to my place in Lil Italy in the bronx. Lol.

Was okay pizza. Nothing special, but one of few spots in the area. Good prices for the quality.

Love this place, it’s right near my job. I stop in every morning for their coffee especially, it’s surprisingly good. The breakfast sandwiches are as well. I could go anywhere else for coffee but they make it right(it’s the little things). The pizza is great and reliable. I love the staff as well. After only a few times going there, they’ll know exactly what you’re ordering and sometimes they have it ready for me before I walk in. Also, an incident occurred a few months ago. One of Maiden Lane’s crazy homeless characters went in and began ranting and raving like a mad man at the top of his voice, absolutely berating the cashier and the owner. They didn’t budge, didn’t call the cops and didn’t kick him out. The owner poured him a cup of soda for free and gave it to him. The crazy guy didn’t thank him and then got angry at the owner for not giving him a lid, and calling him a racist because of that. The owner gave him a lid and kept his cool and I realized that this is a regular occurrence, the guy goes in there all the time and they’ve learned to deal with it calmly, cooly and compassionately. That’s the type of place I like to give my money to.

I ordered 5 pies for 10 bucks each for my coworkers birthday. They delivered it to my job. They were tasty. Delicious. I’ve eaten here five more times sense then. It’s my go to spot for a NYC slice by my job! Who else agrees??? Check it out.

You would be lucky to find a seat here. Small joint but good deals. I got a $ 5 deal 2 plain slice and a small soda. Not bad! The pizza isn’t the greatest but if you haven’t had a lot of pizza in the city — this tastes good and you can say you had your NYC slice. The quality is great for the price! So come here for your NYC slice and enjoy!

The best pizza for the best price in the area AND the best employees! They’re all the nicest group of people and always have a great time! The pizza shop is on the corner and the doors and windows are wide open in the summer for people to sit at the high tables to eat real quick. It reminds me of a European neighborhood. Its great… They also serve breakfast in the morning. Real egg sandwiches. Not your Dunkin Donuts sandwich. SOGOOD. PS– they have fountain orange soda!!!

Walked by it enough times that I figured it was worth a shot trying their lunch special. I was wrong. Ordered two slices and a drink for $ 6.80(not the advertised price of $ 5– and they didn’t bother offering to correct it when I questioned them). Both slices were pretty dry and their crust was a little too burnt for my liking. Definitely not going back to this spot. I would’ve been better going with Papa John’s down the street.

Here’s some new intel. So I was passing by this joint for years and I finally stopped in around March of 2015. «Holy sh*& this sauce is good, nice and tangey and not sweet!» I was trying to figure out what the magic of this place and today while I was ironically ordering a meatball parm I start staring right at the pizzaiolo who is staring right back at me. We exchange hello’s and I ask him if he’s the guy from Majestic(Century 21 Pizza place) and he said yeah. So I tell him that their pizza hasn’t been tasting right which was the reason why I stopped at this place. So ironic that the pizza always comes down to the guy who orders the ingredient and crafts the pizza by hand! This is a solid NY slice of pizza. The guy who makes the pizza’s here has been making pizzas for at least 15 years that I am aware of. Really good pizza especially if you get a premade pizza that has been twice cooked!

My wife got a cheese pizza and I got a calzone. It was a tasty quick bite. What stands out is the baby-sized Pepsi they give you. Some might call it cute. I don’t like my Pepsi cute. It needs to be man-sized.

3.5 Stars Really cramp space, meant as a grab and go joint Variety of slice options is decent Toppings won’t wow by any means Crust is good but no «wow» factor Didn’t think they lived up to their friendly name $ 5 two cheese slice special + drink(not sure if they still have that) but the drink is small just as an fyi Overall Thoughts When in a pinch and on a budget you could do worse then FGP

This place is located on the corner, we went to different tourist places; but the pizza was not thin, or simple. This place was the closest one to the 9⁄11 memorial with NYC pizza. Loved it. — but I have to say, the pizza could be thinner

This place is legit. I totally believe theyve been around since 1965. The best slice of pizza in dowtown nyc. I highly recommend trying it out.

I pretty much live off of Friendly’s. I eat here 2 – 3 days a week for lunch(I work a block away). It never lets me down. I get the whole wheat, spinach or white pizza usually. They have a good variety of toppings and types of pizza. Don’t go here if you want some place to dine-in… it’s the size of a closet.

Solid little pizza joint 2 blocks from my office. It’s cramped but there is lots of pizza variety and friendly service. The white pizza really hit the spot… like in my top white pizza slices ever. The Sicilian slice just ok.

I really regret eating here. I only had a 9 meals in NYC on my latest trip and I wasted one of them on crappy pizza. The pizza wasn’t good. The mushrooms were cold and the pizza was cold too. Not heated up enough. Very doughy, not flavorful and just not good. Skip this, there is much better pizza to be had. Oh and they only carry crappy pepsi products(in the fountain). That’s what you’ll get if you get 2 slices.

My teenage son and I dropped I here after reading many positive reviews. For a Saturday afternoon it was slow but the pepperoni pizza was by far the best! The pizza bread was well toasted and was what made it it great.

Local hole-in-the-wall pizzeria serving your basics and bit more. Line is usually out the door during the weekday lunch hour… for good reason. Solid slice, fresh and piping hot! $ 2.50 price point is a bit steep considering the thinness but it gets the job done. Certainly more authentic than the nearby Papa John’s pizza bar…

Good spot for very great New York style pizza in the FiDi. Cheap, fast, hot, big slices. What more could you want?

Hiole in the wall pizza place that I go to every now and then. Often a delivery for late night meetings at the office. Pizza is not too doughy and has a good cheese to sauce ration. Good selection of toppings. Also have breakfast sandwichwes here which are surprisingly fresh and good. I don’t expect much and I am always satisfied when I eat here.
