Great gelato! Fresco is serving some awesome gelato. They have a good variety of flavors from the traditional strattaciella to flavors like peanut butter. Their gelato has the best texture of any gelato I’ve ever had. It’s smooth and it doesn’t leave behind that oily/buttery feel in your mouth. She mouthful is clean and leaves no oily feeling behind. It’s the right temperature where the gelato won’t melt too fast yet it’s still soft enough that you’re not having to lose the top layer of your tongue to lick it or biting the scoop. You can have a single scoop served in a cup or a cone. We went for the cone. The waffle cone itself was great, no complaints. Our flavors: salt caramel & Ferraro The salt caramel was so good. Gelato was smooth with strong caramel flavors and not overly salty. It had chunks of toffee to give it some added texture. Ferraro flavor was also great. Smooth chocolate and hazel nut flavor. Definitely come try the gelato of you are in the area!

We loved this place. After we had some Thai food we were looking for some gelato and lucky us we found this gem. I think its really hard to find a good gelato place in the US. I tried the salter caramel and the coconut. Delicious. I liked the caramel a bit more than the coconut. It is very creamy. I like how they had some water on the side, which I think its important. I get very thirsty after eating ice cream. Five stars.

This is my favorite coffee shop in NYC. I have been coming here for a couple years now and continue to enjoy watching the place evolve. I love that the owners(siblings from Greece I believe) are always working and are such sweet friendly people. It really helps create it to be a local vibe with tons of «regulars» and repeat customers. The food can’t be forgotten. Such delicious lunch and breakfast foods and the croissants are amazing(also love how the place smells like croissants). And of course you can’t go wrong with the gelato :). With all the coffee shops in NYC, and especially my neighborhood of Williamsburg, I continue to come back and will always support!

Yummy, yummy stuff. I had the strawberry and kiwi flavors. The gelato is nice and tangy, and would be something I absolutely crave in the hot summer months. Their ferraro flavor is just like frozen nutella which tasted amazing without being overly nutty. Pluses: — Excellent quality gelato that is smooth and savory Minuses: — Cramped space — Employees could have a little more tact in taking customer orders(although we could have just caught the guy while he was having a bad day)

I live for this place! I get the rosewater gelato every time because I just love its subtle flavor and mild sweetness. It’s also fairly inexpensive for the area. I haven’t tried any of their dishes or beverages yet, but they look great too. This place is perfect for studying, solo meals, and chilling with friends. It’s so cute! For real, I live.

Update: Been coming here for awhile for their Rosewater gelato. I still love it and find it a glorious end to any fatty meal around St. Mark’s. The vibe of the Gelateria still gets me– warm, cozy in all the right ways. This is a good place to end a date!

Om Nom Nom! What a cute gelato/coffee place. I absolutely love gelato, so upon finding this place, I was quite excited! The gelato tasted fresh and homemade, so many flavors to choose from and the price is reasonable. Bring your laptop, drink some coffee and eat gelato till your hearts content. The atmosphere was pretty chill and laid back, the noise factor was average. The employees were pretty friendly. Definitely going to go back.

One of my favorite places to chill and study in the east village. I love it because it has a lot of seating and different options to order from, the most popular being the gelato obviously. My favorite flavors include the salted caramel and rose water. When I’m not particularly hungry though I opt for a lemonade or a matcha latte. They also have good breakfast options in the morning.

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to rate this place. The place is really cute. It’s more a coffee shop than an ice cream parlor. They also offer food other than gelato. I had the frittata and a matcha latte. They were both just meh. The matcha latte was too thick, but then again, it seemed to be the guy’s first day as he didn’t even know how to pronounce«matcha» yet. I’ve been back twice for the gelato since they close at midnight. The first time I got the Ferrero Rocher flavor since it seemed to be the most popular on Unilocal. It did, indeed, taste just like those chocolates, but I was severely disappointed to find out that he consistency was not that of gelato, but just plain old ice cream :(It’s not thick and creamy enough to be gelato. I came back and got the salted crumble, which I really liked, even though I’m not exactly sure what the crumble is. I sampled the matcha flavor, and it tasted exactly like matcha. Overall, they have some really good and unique flavors here, but it really isn’t gelato.

Came here for the rosewater gelato hype. Ended up liking the other flavors more. I loved the fig and pear flavors! I like mixing the rosewater flavor with another because it’s a bit strong by itself. Really refreshing. Also, very reasonable price at $ 4 a scoop for two flavors. Will definitely be back to try more flavors. Maybe a more creamy flavor next time.

Found a new fav gelato spot. Their gelato flavors are pretty good. My boyfriend had a lime basil and fig, $ 5.5 for two big scoops. He added on a waffle cookie for $ 1 extra. I ordered a nonfat latte. It’s an average latte, not too crazy about it. The place is very relaxing and chill. It’s good for hanging out and meetings. It’s not a typical small tiny coffee shop/gelato store can only fit five people in it. Love the vibe and decoration. Def coming back.

Huh. You know, I really wanted to love Freco Gelateria given the positive reviews more or less across the entire spectrum, and while it may have been because I came in on the late side, the gelato that I had really was pretty easily trumped by a lot of the other gelato and ice cream I’ve had in the city(M’o Gelato, Van Leeuwen, etc.) Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? I will say that while the product was sub-par in my opinion, the atmosphere at Fresco was excellent. The shape of the place is a bit unorthodox, but it allows for seating whether it’s just you looking to get some work done while you enjoy a frozen treat or if you’ve a full group in tow. The display is beautiful and the gelato itself displayed in a really unique manner. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $ 5.50 is about right for two scoops these days, and that’s what I paid at Fresco, opting for Chocolate Brownie and Salted Caramel. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Honestly? It just wasn’t that great. Both of my flavors were quite a bit more frozen than gelato should be, and the result was small ice crystals diluting the flavor and more or less offsetting that smooth creamy texture that distinguishes gelato from ice cream. From there, neither flavor really blew me away even though these are flavors that I traditionally love. The chocolate was better than the caramel, but even that didn’t impress in that it lacked that sort of deep and rich flavor that you might find elsewhere. Maybe an off night, but I really wasn’t impressed. No Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Maybe I caught Fresco on an off night, but with such stiff competition in the immediate area, I simply can’t say I’d make Fresco a common spot. No Star Granted.

I was craving ice cream per usual and this was the only place nearby that was still opened that I haven’t been too. I was so glad they had cool flavors! I sampled a lot per usual and of course I resorted to my favorite flavor: green tea. I added in a scoop of lemon basil to not be boring. It’s only $ 1.50 more for a second scoop so you might as well… Marketing always gets me. They scooped more of the lemon basil than green tea so that was kind of disappointing. Their green tea is legit! Not the fake green colored gelato. It’s a small shop with good music, stylish people and friendly workers. They sell pastries too! It was tempting but I resisted. There’s a few seats and some comfy cushions along the wall.

Whenever I’m in the neighborhood, I make it a point to stop at Fresco. Easily my first choice out of the many, many other places in the area– of which there are many. From the moment I walked in, I fell in love with the space and everything about Fresco Gelateria. Beautifully simple, wooden interior with elegant lights and pillows for your comfort. It’s perfect for any occasion– great for catching up on reading, journaling, for a post-dinner dessert, dates and anything in between. There’s something here for everybody. I’m pretty certain my love of Fresco is the reason why I’m still doing yoga to this day. A friend showed me this spot more than two years ago as part of a post-yoga ritual. Over the course of a few weeks, I became a regular, going almost every single day whether for food, coffee, or, of course, their gelato. The gelato brought me here but the service is what has kept me going back. Incredibly friendly service. Run by three siblings(Anna, Vanessa, Ilias) from Greece who clearly love what they do and treat their customers with kindness and respect. One of them is always around so stop in and say hello! Favorite flavors are: — Stracciatella(similar to chocolate chip but with rich chocolate flakes) — Lemon Basil Sorbet(refreshing) — Ferrero(tastes exactly how you’d expect, very rich) A fan of their salads, baked goods, chai, and coffee(they serve La Colombe coffee). Their affogato(gelato topped with hot espresso… freak out with me here that this beautiful creation exists) is out of this world. Go to Fresco(now!) — I’m certain it won’t be your last time here.

I can’t speak to their gelato(which now I’m kicking myself for not getting any) but I did have an Americano here and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The espresso did not taste burnt and it was the perfect start to the day. The atmosphere is modern, minimal and natural. There is a little nook to work in. If I lived here I would hang out here for dayyyyzzzz. Highly recommend for all of your espresso & gelato needs!

For some strange reason, I seem to love going to ice cream shops during the middle of rainstorms and blizzards lmao. So I came here today to try out their gelato and to get some studying done since I had time to kill before work. Fresco is a lot smaller than I had imagined it to be. The service was really nice! The lady who took my order was very courteous and seemed skilled in what she’s doing. I wouldn’t say this is the best place to study at since it may be too dark and the music is loud. However, the place did give off good vibes. Ferrero– Tastes just like a ferrero rocher! It wasn’t excessively sweet either and had a really rich taste that I loved! Salted crumble– Not sure if this is the same as salted caramel. Regardless, I found this flavor to be amazing! I was skeptical about having a salty flavor in ice cream but it turned out to be great! I think the saltiness balances out the sweetness pretty well. I also loved how there were chunks of what I believe to be are nuts in there that added a nice crunch and texture to the gelato. Fresco seriously blows Grom out of the water. The portions are bigger, the gelato is tastier, and the workers are nicer. I think Fresco might even top Amorino as being my favorite gelato place in NYC! Loved this place!

I thought the gelato was alright. I got three scoops in a cup for $ 7. Besides the apparent appealing look that they have(for Instagram), I didn’t think there was anything more special about the flavors. Besides that, very interesting looking interior and adequate seating. Be aware that they do not have a bathroom in there. I thought there was one, but when I went through the door and down the stairs, I realized I entered some kind of storage area. It was actually only for employees. Oops. I also liked how they let us try as many flavors as we wanted before we decided what to get. Another plus is that they have dairy-free options, I would recommend this place for gelato enthusiasts, but I personally will not visit again. Or I might. I probably chose the wrong three scoops today. Maybe I’ll try once more to see how I like it.

I’m not super crazy about ice cream, but I stumbled upon this place one night with a friend and was really pleasantly surprised! It was a very cute spot with nice décor and comfortable seating, but I think what makes this place really unique are the interesting ice cream flavors! I was not feeling too adventurous so I got the espresso and double chocolate(which were both incredible) but they also have very unique flavors like cucumber or ferrero!(I tried the cucumber and it was a little too out there for me, but definitely great if you’re an adventurous ice cream flavor sort of person)

Cute place. This is a very cute coffee shop. It is also very convenient because it closes at 12 am. They serve La Colombe coffee. All dayyy long. They serve their coffee with a little butter/sugar/simple cookie. The service is always lovely. The place is lovely too. Kinda dimly lit unless you sit by the front, so I don’t know how much work/reading you can actually get done here. It’s nice taking one of the few yellow folding stools and people watching outside tho. There are a few outlets in the house, but no restroom, but that ok. This place is right by Veselka. I love their chocolate sorbet! It’s dairy free but it’s so rich and creamy that you won’t know that the dairy is missing. They also serve soups, salads and sandwiches. Along with a small selection of pastries. I’ve had their spinach pie and it was pretty good. Great place to sit and chill for a while.
