Another round of applaud to Jacob for doing my roots and making me a light blonde! Recommend the Brazilian blowout split ends treatment! Works like magic :) Can’t say enough good things about this place. Great skills, great people!

Jacob gives a great blowout! When I walked in Chelsea took my coat and offered me a glass of wine and some dark chocolate. Nice! I came in for long layers and a blowout and I couldn’t be happier. My hair is full of bouncy body I love it. My friend got amazing Bayalage highlights from Cielo and a trim from Jacob. Jacob, Cielo and Chelsea are so sweet.

Thank you Jacob! Our last Keratin treatment was perfect. I think that extra product we used really sealed the deal. Thank you again — no frizz, air dries straight. See you Soon!

I was convinced to try brazilian blowout(I usually do brazilian keratin treatment) when I went and my hair is really oily, heavy on the top, with little shape or volume. I wouldn’t do that treatment again. Also, please don’t be lured by the 25 or 40% discount. They hike up the original price so much that you still end up paying a lot. If you’re coming for the price, I suggest you look elsewhere. I ended up paying more with the discount that non-discounted treatments in SOHO. In response to below, the price was not quoted prior to having it done.

Let me preface this by saying that I can only really speak for their Keratin services and nothing else. With the May deals and the location, I wanted to love this place. I was worried from the start because the man who takes appointments was not friendly or helpful, but with half the cost of my normal Keratin and with my hairdresser out of town, I was willing to deal with rudeness. Once I was there, they were rude at all, or at least the two brothers who run the place weren’t. The lady who washed my hair didn’t even speak, despite my attempts to be cordial. I had full-head Coppola Keratin treatment. I have mostly straight hair with wavy/curly roots so I mentioned this to the hairstylist. He said that he was working on those and it looked fine when I left but it kept curling over the 3 days where you can’t wash your hair. Once I rinsed out my hair, even though I was using Coppola shampoo & conditioner, my roots were wavy and after a week my hair basically looked like nothing had been done. I have had Coppola done 3 times before and have never had my roots be curly until about 2 months after the treatment, typically because my hair was growing in and thus didn’t have any Keratin on it. There was someone next to me getting an up-do and it looked nice enough but I thought she looked like her 4 year old whose hair had just been done. So they may be good for other services, which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. If you want a good Keratin job, go to Salon Above and ask for Monica.

Albert and Jacob are talented and they know it! Their skill allows them to assess the look that fits your personality! Or they can give you a new one for the new year! My hair is unmanageable, and must be tied back for work everyday. After airing my dilemma, they were able to give me a style that requires not much more than a 10 minute blow dry in the morning! If you want a change, a more sophisticated look or just something fun for an event, you have to try them out! It’s 40% off this month. A great steal! Don’t be afraid of change. They are worth it for sure!

I have been a long time customer of Albert’s at Fine Artistik. When I started seeing him 4 – 5 years ago, he spent a lot of time with me and had fun experimenting with different cuts, styles and color. He has a great eye and is very skilled. But over the past year or two, my cuts have taken less and less time and I regularly waited 30 – 60 minutes past my appointment time to be taken. Last time I was there, my cut and blow dry took less than 15 minutes after I had waited to see him for almost an hour. And our time together was not un-interrupted since he checks on his other more junior stylists every few minutes. While the price may be good for NYC standards and he has a good eye, I have decided it’s time to move on. I paid an extra $ 20 at another salon and my stylist spent a full hour with me and the experience was far more pleasant. I hope that the salon reads this review and makes some changes before all of their long-time customers move on too.

I went to Artistik Salon after seeing the amazing reviews on Unilocal and the incentive of 25% off for new customers(coupon is on their website). The salon is modern and intimate with a lively and fun atmosphere(wine!!!). It’s not too trendy and loud or pretentious and stuffy… it was just right. It’s also fairly priced especially for the high level of service and professionalism. Jacob did a wonderful job, he was receptive to my needs giving me a great cut and blowout. Jacob and Albert kept me laughing the whole time… I’ll definitely be going back!

Since moving to NYC3 years ago, I have had my fair share of bad hair stylists– I am so relieved to have found«my place.» Albert knows hair. He cuts quickly, but it’s because he’s good at what he does. I’ve had hair stylists who have spent over an hour cutting my thick hair only to leave the salon with crooked hair that does nothing but flip out. This is definitely not the case with Albert. The prices are very reasonable for the city, especially given the quality of what you are getting.

I love Albert and I love the salon. I love the fact that it’s a small place where they remember you who are, and are incredibly nice and down to earth. Albert’s cuts are great, and the best part about them is that you don’t have to wait for your hair to «bounce back» from the haircut the way that it does so often from other cuts — it looks great from the moment you walk out of the salon. My only criticism is that it’s a little pricey, but what do you expect for a small boutique salon on the upper east side with an experienced stylist???(I must be pretty darned happy with them, b/c Albert is doing my hair for my wedding). Definitely worth a visit.
