I don’t really get the hate for this place. I mean, I get that any dry cleaners that loses your stuff is gonna be on your sh**list, but I’ve been using them for over 2 years now without any sort of problem. I’ve had had shirts laundered and dry cleaned, suits, coats, jeans, and other clothing articles done there, as well as a couple repairs and alterations. Everything comes back quick and done well. They do a good job of removing stains as well. Sure, they probably just contract to a large processing plant in an outer borough that all the rest of the dry cleaners go through, but bhe guy also remembers my name about half the time and they don’t charge for rush jobs. Very convenient to the WTCPATH, too.

I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews. These people are WAYWAY less expensive than the place at 71 Broadway. They’ve not ruined anything yet and they pick up from my building. They are sometimes less than prompt in returning my wash and fold, unless I specify exactly when I want it.

Stay away!!! I fell for their 25% off first time promotion but after a few services they lost two of my gorgeous work dresses, and claimed that they delivered everything without taking any responsibility!!!

The service here was terrible. The manager of this cleaner is rude and dishonest. My horrible experience detailed below… My building was handing out coupons for this cleaner(30% off first order), so I decided to give it a shot. I called in advance to check that the 30% applied to both dry cleaning and wash and fold, and the staff member at FiDi confirmed this was the case. My laundry arrived a day late WITHOUT the dry cleaning. The discount also had not been applied. I called the cleaner, and they explained the driver forgot to drop off the dry cleaning, and that they could not refund the 30% they had promised upfront. The person on the phone — who turned out to be the owner — insisted his credit card machine was broken, but also emphatically added that he didn’t want to pay the credit card fees on processing the return.(That’s correct, he didn’t want to pay the ~$ 1.25 on interchange to retain a customer — smart business decision? He claimed it was…) He then continued to shout that it was his EMPLOYEE who promised the discount, not himself(of course managers aren’t responsible for their staff.) Later that day, I stopped by the cleaners. We argued for about 15 minutes, during which the store owner yelled at me for«pretending» a if I was ever going to use his service again. «DON’T LIETOME! I DON’T LIKEPLAYINGGAMES!». Shortly thereafter, he professed his credit card actually was working(miracle!) and begrudgingly gave me my $ 7.50 refund. Turns out his claim that he couldn’t refund the promised discount because his machine was broken was a flat out lie. Please — don’t support this sleazy operation. With so many other superior options, take your business elsewhere!

I can’t say enough nice things about the level of service I’ve received at FiDi Cleaners. My dry cleaning is always done perfectly and delivered on time. They’ve also hemmed several pairs of pants for me. I dropped one pair off on a Saturday morning and told them that I absolutely needed them by Monday night because I had to wear them on Tuesday morning. Later that afternoon, I got a phone call that the pants were finished and that they were bringing them over to my apartment right away. The work was perfect and I was incredibly appreciative that they took care of it so quickly. They also get extra points for being open on Saturdays(a rarity in the Financial District) and giving customers 10% off if you open an account and keep your credit card on file.
