Had some of the worst food ever. Mystery rice, mystery meat, and even a rancid spring roll. Don’t bother.

Not bad — but not mind-blowing. They were really nice when they were brand new — digs are a little shabbier nowadays. Standard chinese fare and good steamed chicken dumplings. Dim Sum on weekends. Good soups. Not a fave but not bad. I’d return in a pinch.

Came here with a small party for brunch. The place looks pretty run down and dirty. Lack of upkeep, exposed pipes and wires, and generally pretty shoddy sit-down location for midtown. We ordered the crab and pork steamed dumplings which were both ‘OK’. A lot of fatty pork is used in the dumplings. The noodles, however, were a huge disappointment. We ordered the Shanghai noodles and the Taiwanese style meat sauce noodles but they were essentially the same yellow noodles just with different sauces! Some of my friends ordered the lunch special which was just a choice of rice and small portion of a dish. I saw that their lunch specials used to include dumplings also but was crossed out, I suppose due to higher food costs. But whats so special about a lunch that is essentially a smaller portion of a rice plate? Nothing really. The worst part of all is the unbelievable amount of salt and msg used in their foods. That is just unexcusable. The food at this place is really a health risk because of the high sodium content. You would have serious health problems if you ate here more than 3 times a week. Very unhealthy. Skip this place.

i got my food delivered through seamlessweb; it arrived hot and with utensils in this cute little plastic bag. the egg drop soup was standard(that’s a good thing). the general tso’s was not quite as hot as I guess it’s supposed to be, but i have trouble eating hot things so that actually made it better in my book. all in all a delicious lunchtime experience.

Pretty good, but a fairly narrow menu. The Shao Mai was a little bland, but the steamed dumplings were good. I had the Won Ton soup, which was excellent(but small for the price) and a chicken dish. The pork fried rice was well seasoned, but still a little bland. I knocked a star off for having a fairly small menu and another one for the service. We waited about a half hour for the bill after unsuccessfully trying to flag down our waiter, then any waiter. Eventually, the floor manager came through for us, but it was an excessively long wait.

Possibly the only viable alternative to Wu Liang Ye for Chinese on the UES. Nothing on the(rather extensive) menu readily distinguishes this place from other solid Chinese restaurants. But it’s got one huge advantage: you can order dim sum for any and every meal of the week! And for delivery!(Carts for brunching-in on weekends.) And the dim sum is pretty damn juicy. Even if prices are about 15% higher than in Chinatown. Spacious, respectable interior. Consistently courteous staff.

If I’m in the mood for Chinese food delivery this is the place to call… the food is good and you can’t complain about the price. I always get the scallion pancakes… I’m never disappointed.

Good food at good prices. They deliver, of course.
