Europan Cafe

This place is not bad at all. For hungry cranky students by john jay college, this place gets the job done. For all the years I have been here, the pizza has been delicious and decently priced for Manhattan. They have all kinds of toppings from pepperoni, to chicken, sausage, vegetables, ham, and pineapple & regular/​Sicilian slices starting from 2.75 and so on. They also have fresh calzones and chicken/​sausage rolls starting at 5.50 and so on, very delicious and filling.
I like how they also have other options like make your own salad, sandwiches [comes with chips free of charge] or premium wraps. They also have good soups and options like make your own rice or quinoa bowls.
They also have good stuff for breakfast like fruit salads, pastries, fresh bagels and cheap Colombian or Arabica coffee.
I got to try some of their desserts and some were fresh and some were stale, they were still very tasty. The slices start at 5.50 and up but they can be shared. I recommend eating their cheesecake in the morning or during the day, they also have really good croissants and red velvet cake, cookies and tarts :)
They also have plenty of seats and free hand sanitizer, cant go wrong with that
I also like the late hours, I was able to eat here pretty late with no issues.

Best New York cheese cake EVER! Im not kidding. If you have not tried it, RUN there now and get a whole cake! I stayed at the Hudson and didn’t think much of the place or of the appearance of the cake, but once I bit into the first slice, OMG!!! Hurry GO, GO!

Taking it back up four stars for now, since they made an attempt to say sorry for the last few mishaps. Fool me three times Europan and I’m bumping you back down to one star!
I’ve been eating and ordering from this Europan location for YEARS! Love the people and love the food, but they are killing me lately with their inability to deliver seamless orders. Seamless says 20 – 30 minutes and it takes 60+. It shows they aren’t ‘accepting’ the orders for 20+ minutes after I order it.
No I sit here still waiting for my egg sandwich… Ready to gnaw my arm off!!!

«Ok» food, the nighttime cashier was so incredibly rude I wouldn’t go back even if the food was free

Got hungry for some cake and found this bakery. They tried to overcharge. I recommend to check exactly what the cashier does. After complaint they gave money back. Shady.

Got food poisoning here last night after eating a slice of pizza. I felt fine before the pizza and had nothing after it… started to feel sick within 30 min of eating.

I ate here two separate times during a recent trip to NYC. I consider myself to be pretty darn critical of the service and food I receive wherever it may be so I am definitely surprised to read that anyone feels that this place «sucks».
Our first time was late night slices of pizza. The guys behind the counter were quick, friendly, and actually had a sense of humor. It’s been a few years since I’ve had a good slice of NY style pie, and their’s really hit the spot. The crust Ahhhhh. I had a slice of spinach and mushrooms and my husband had a slice of veggie. Both were loaded with toppings and heated to perfection.
A few days later, I returned for lunch. There are SO many options… something for everyone. From a fresh salad bar, sandwiches, fruits, soups, Italian specialties, paninis, and of course the incredible dessert counter! I had a turkey wrap and a bowl of fresh fruit and it was delicious.
If there is anything negative to say, it would be lack of flow while ordering during the busy lunch rush. There are multiple stations to place your order and you end up feeling a bounced around a bit.

Actually not a bad resturant. I had the Chocolate Mousse Cup dessert and I loved it and I actually finished it. There’s a huge amount of choices to pick from as well. The music is really relaxing and the environment and staff is friendly.

It’s descent. We tried a chocolate cookie some type of pastry and pancakes. Nothing to rave about but it’s a convenient location.

We were pretty much starving after biking around Central Park. So everything at this place tasted and smelled delicious.
The pizza was huge and yummy. Pretty cheap, too.
Full disclosure: we came here for the bathrooms!

I was charged $ 4.08 for egg and cheese on a roll. An egg sandwich is $ 2.75 which means I paid over $ 1.00 for a slice of cheese. When I received my order it was egg on two slices of seeded bread and no cheese. When I went back to get cheese, the cook placed a couple slices of cold cheese on the sandwich and gave it back to me. I had to ask for it to be melted. Why was it so hard and so pricey to get a simple egg and cheese sandwich?! I would have been better off buying it from the breakfast cart around the corner.

My friends and I stopped by to grab some lunch here on a Saturday evening.
The deli guy took a while to realize I was standing waiting to order, the food was mediocre (mine in a takeaway container even though the rest of my group got their food on paper plates) the lady at the till snapped at me when I tried to describe which sandwich I got and then just gave me my change and walked off, no manners what so ever!!!
I will not be back.

Their food is really good and not really over priced. Their pizza is great they do pepperoni and bacon its amazeballs. No complaints really. The delivery guys are pretty nice.

I can’t decide between 2 and 3 stars, but I guess 3 to be kind and because I was REALLY hungry and they were really quick.
The delivery person arrived 25 minutes before the anticipated delivery window began, therefore I was unprepared. I work on the 10^th floor of a building with horrendous elevator service. I went to the bathroom and returned to find NINE missed calls both from security downstairs and from the delivery person stating they are «still» waiting for me. I immediately ran over to the elevators. These of course took almost 10 additional minutes, during which time I received 6 more phone calls (despite telling them «Yes, I’m sorry but I am on the 10^th floor waiting for an elevator. I cannot force the elevator to arrive.»
The security guard was pissed (though that is a reflection upon my building, not the restaurant or delivery person… it was an annoyance to me). The delivery person seemed to want an additional tip despite the fact that I had already tipped him at nearly 100% of my actual order. I did not provide additional tip, but apologized for the wait and thanked him.
Good news: the southern wrap was delicious and exactly what I needed.
Bad news: Seriously guys, relax with the phone calls. I’m completely ecstatic that you arrived early, but a head’s up would be helpful. I understand you are busy, but if you’re going to be nearly 30 minutes early let me know in advance so I can tackle the elevator demon *before* you arrive (which was my plan initially).

This place was right next to our hotel and open till late, so it fit the bill for late night munchie cravings.
Unfortunately…the food… not so good. Ordered a couple of slices of pizza and it just did not taste right. Coincidentally, I ended up in the ER in the AM, but I will not chalk that up to this place.
Although I will say seeing the pizza come back out in the morning will prob stop me from going back here just by itself.
They have a big menu with a lot of items and an open fridge with a pretty decent drink selection.

Stopped in AM. Got a too-​greasy, too-​expensive ham and swiss sandwich. Coffee sizes are weird: there is no medium, and the large is huge. Weird kid as well.

Somewhat surprised by the low Unilocal rating. The pizza’s rather good, the panini’s are tasty and the chicken noodle soup is hot and delicious. Late dinner for 4 in Manhattan for $ 25 is a good deal.
They also do pretty good breakfast sandwiches.
This ain’t fine dining, but it is an excellent corner diner.

I come here every now and again to grab a slice of pizza or cup of coffee. The food is ok for the type of establishment and the staff is friendly. Huge pizza slices at a reasonable price for
Midtown is why I keep going back.

Every neighborhood has a go-​to late night, middle of the night, need to grab something quick spot. This Europan on the corner of 9^th Ave and West 58^th Street fits that bill. It is all due to the fact that it is a block from the massive Columbus Circle /​59^th Street subway station.
This Europan is a solid spot for a slice or two of pizza, cookies, cake, salads, etc. The food is not amazing but it does the job an the service is quick as well.

Meh.
I probably won’t go again.
Went in AM for coffee and a nibble. Got a croissant. It was a big.
Customer service wasn’t especially nice. The were abrupt and rushing me. It was AM so maybe they were just focused and trying to move people but I wasn’t holding up the line either.
Coffee was OK.
Croissant was big. Was OK.
Coffee was 1.65
Croissant 2.25…
Prob wont be back. Nothing looked like I was missing anything
