Let’s start by saying I was a patient at this dental office for over 10 years. Well let’s just say every 8 months when I went for my annual check in I «had a cavity» that needed to be removed. So naturally, since they are the professionals and I am not, I went ahead and booked my appointments for the filling(because they won’t do it right then and there to add some charges to your insurance). Anyways. Fast forward into adulthood I decided to get braces just to fix some minor issues I had. I spent over $ 7K on my braces(yes I have insurance but Invisalign isn’t covered by it). Quick side note I visited a dentist office that specializes in only Invisalign and was told my treatment should’ve costed me less that 4K. I loved my braces however didn’t care much for the after care I received. You would imagine after spending 7k in a dental office they will at least give you a complimentary teeth whitening or something as an incentive. Anyways, never complained. After braces I was told I had to do a root canal so naturally once again I did it. Failing to realize I should’ve gotten a second opinion since I never needed that much work done(my fault). NEXT I was told one of the fillings I had done ages ago was cracked and so was my tooth and so they recommended dental implants… Pause. IMPLANTS?! You must be out of your mind. They were very quick to pressure me into making up my mind about going through with it. So quick that I was charged before I even went in for the appointment to get anything done. Needless to say, I ended up getting a second opinion from a very well known oral surgeon and dentist(board certified of course) and was told I DIDNOT need ANY work done especially not implants.(Had me thinking did I really ever need the root canal I had done before??)…I quickly switched my dentist because honestly I’ve had it with spending thousands in an office that is centered more on getting your money than anything else. The doctors are very good and genuinely care for you however, I suggest you get a second opinion on any kind of work you need done. After I left that dentist office I have had nothing but positive appointments with my new dentist. Not only was I pressured into getting things I didn’t need done but so were my relatives. My mother was told she had 2 cavities to take care of at this office and since she’s genuinely scared of needles and tools, she got a second opinion as well and was told she didn’t need any work done. My cousin, same thing… had 2 root canals done and was later told by her new dentist that she only needed one after he reviewed her old x-rays. Beware. That’s all I have to say.

I have nothing but positive words to say about Dr. Philomen. After a rocky start to get an appointment(he is very busy, I have to say I was surprised), I finally secured an appt. But after meeting him, I realized he has such a down to earth persona and really good bedside manner — now I understand why he is a popular dentist! I had a cosmetic dental treatment done. Before and during the procedure, he explained in detail everything that he was doing and reassured me there would be no pain at all. And there was none. Even with the intense laser and intimidating looking tools, he kept me calm throughout the whole thing. I really like this dentist and his laid back demeanor!

I’ve only been coming here for the three months and so far so good. There have been the only dental location that has been able to accommodate me and my invisalign situation. Last dental closed down with no warning, leaving me with no invisalign and having to start my treatment completely over. Luckily, this location has set up payment plans for me to continue my treatment.

I made a very expensive mistake coming to this office. My initial appointment for a check up and cleaning lasted 4 hours and consisted of high pressure sales to get braces and periodontal treatment. I checked with another dentist and was told that neither of these treatments were warranted. The cleaning was extremely painful with the hygienist stabbing my gums very hard, I guess to try and show me that I had periodontal disease. I’ve been to many dentists and this was extreme in every way. The wait in the waiting room was long, the receptionists were polite but not very competent and when I complained to the doctor about not needing the treatments, I was still charged for services that I never got. Go at your own risk!
