I’ve used Essex for years and never had any problem. Solid dry cleaners all around.

Worst decision ever. Like many others, I used this dry cleaners because it is located on the ground floor of my building. I was promised same-day service, and when I picked up my clothing from the concierge I realized all of my pieces were not there. When I asked dry cleaners management where my other pieces were, they had no answers. They searched all over, and as a last resort they just said it appears it has not arrived yet. This is a fly by night operation, and management does not know what they are doing. Lesson learned, it’s not always about convenience.

Worse dry cleaners I’ve ever used. They are in my building so I always used them b/c they are convenient. They have had a lot of changes in staff over the past year and service has totally fallen off. The tailor has a hard time doing the simplest alteration — I had to have him redue hems and patches several times. They claim same day service and even verbally promised to get me my clothes to me on the same day and weren’t able to several times. Last time they didn’t get my clothes in time — I was traveling and was not able to bring some of the clothes i needed with me. As much as it inconvieniences for me, I will never use this cleaners again.

I like this place! They have a great tailor in house, and are always very friendly. I am not sure what the other reviewer was saying about staff turnover; I have seen the same people there for the two years I have been in the building. I think they’re great — but one star off because they’re also quite pricey.

Wow I wish I could give this place –1,000 stars heres my story that has happened 3 times now can’t believe I kept going back! Droped 8 shirts and a pair of pants off, which is 25.25 total. Card is charged 37.00 flat. They tell me there is a minimum charge for my card!!! They said since the pants were 8.00 they charge that seperately then that invoked a 10 dollar + fee since it didn’t reach the minimum, these people steal money from you its sad that they probably do this to SO many people and 90% of them don’t even realize. What a complete JOKE of a business!

they seem to spin though staff, raising a flag of caution. additionally, they have yet to get out a stain, and at times have even made it worse. It was a chore trying to get some minimal level of reimbursement, which they proceeded to screw up. I am looking for a new dry cleaner!

Excellent dry cleaners in general. They are very polite and accommodating as far as when you need to pick up your clothes(within reason of course). Prices are fairly reasonable for dry cleaning and pressing button down shirts. I’ve never had clothes disappear, but I make sure to keep track of what I drop off. I came back once because I was unsatisfied with how my coat came out after being dry cleaned and they re-cleaned the coat free of charge. I would have given it 5 stars but getting work pants pressed is a little more than I would like to pay, however, it’s not outrageous either when taking into account the convenience of picking up dry cleaning without leaving my apt building. Also, some of the buttons on the sleeve of my dress shirts have been damaged, but I’ve yet to bring this up to them as an issue. I guess this is why they offer both machine press and hand press, the latter being more expensive but probably doesn’t damage the buttons.

Worse dry cleaners I’ve ever used. They are in my building so I thought it would be good and convenient. They put holes through all my skirts because they pin them to the hanger(it doesnt seem to matter if its silk; no common sense). They didnt get any stains out from anything I gave them. And they have lost the last set of items I gave to them. They dont give you a receipt until you pick up so they are claiming we never gave it in which is a nightmare and I doubt I’ll ever get my clothes back. When I was there trying to find my lost items another customer was complaining about his ripped shirt. He gave in a normal dress shirt and got it back ripped and the cleaners was claiming that this is normal because the shirt was old so that can happen!!! My roommate went in there last weekend and they gave him someone elses dry cleaning and he ended up with 6 dress shirts that were not his before turning back and returning it. This is probably what happened to my last droppoff-they gave it to someone else by accident and now are claiming they never received it. WILLNEVERGOBACKAGAIN. If you want to risk it, I would start out with one or two items and be sure to get a receipt otherwise you may never see it again. And unless you want holes in things, which again they claim is normal and doesnt really show, I would mention it.

They get the job done, they’re in my building, and I can talk them into getting it done on the same day even if I hand them a ton of stuff. I have no complaints.
