I absolutely love this place. I’m an active, health-conscious type, and I try to keep my calories in check, and also to get a lot of protein in my diet, and this place is perfect for me! The food is great(especially the sirloin burgers and the Energy Burger — which comes with a bison patty and 3 egg whites). The baked fries are a perfect alternative to their fatty counterparts. The staff at this place is always friendly and helpful. I order there at least once or twice per week(I work nearby), and there have been one or two instances where they’ve gotten something wrong in my order, but they’ve always been super willing to do what’s necessary to rectify(including re-delivering) with a smile. They also have a very well-designed website that makes ordering online super easy and precise. Highly recommended!

I really like this place. I started ordering from them when I decided I didn’t want a sloppy beef burger or pizza. I ordered the energy burger(bison, egg whites & cheese) and was totally satisfied. Once in a while I may order the baked sea salt fries, but not that often because that burger is filling enough. This is now my official order from them. Maybe one day I’ll try something else, but for now — «energy burger, you’re my bestest friend!» LOL

Energy Kitchen is where I go when I’m feeling fat in the morning and need a low calorie breakfast and a serious energy boost. It, honestly, helps out a lot. I feel very full afterward and am usually satisfied until my lunch break. This Energy Kitchen has the perfect opening time for me, and their speed with preparing the food is great. I come in at 8 and leave by 8:05. It’s wonderful. The staff there is usually very friendly regardless of if it’s a Monday morning which is also a plus. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick and healthy alternative for breakfast.

Midtown East is filled with lunch options, but some have lines around the corner and make you dread the decision to leave the office, so one day I decided to go with Energy Kitchen and placed an order on GrubHub. I like the idea of being healthier without truly changing what I eat. Of course that approach is virtually impossible when left to my own vices. EnergyKitchen has a leg up on portion control, which is how they keep their meals to the low calorie count, so expect the wraps to be smaller than what you’d get at other area restaurants. My one piece of advice is to place your order pretty far in advance of your pickup. Though it felt as though I arrived 20 minutes after placing my order, the staff was just picking up the order as I arrived to the counter.

First, I think it’s important to note that you don’t go to Energy Kitchen because you want the best burger and fries. You go here because you are trying to be somewhat healthy about it. So no, it is definitely not the place you go when you’re in the mood to eat a big juicy indulgent delicious burger. I just happen to want to eat burgers and fries more than I should if I were always eating the real deal. That being said… I’m actually going to go ahead and give this place 4 stars — at least for now. I don’t want to knock them down a star for having eaten their food in less than ideal circumstances. It just so happened that we needed to get food delivered and we literally did not have time to even pick it up. Now obviously burgers and fries are just not things that can sit around for a while before you eat. So yes, by the time we ate, it was colder than it should’ve been — particularly the fries, which were just plain cold. No doubt the food would’ve tasted better had it actually been warm/hot, so I’m not going to penalize it right now before trying it as soon as it’s prepared. We ordered the sirloin burger and the veggie burger. Sirloin Burger — comes with caramelized onions and steak sauce on a whole wheat bun. Note that it does not come with tomato and lettuce like others do. If you want to add them it’s $ 1 — pricey for sure because it’s one slice of tomato and one piece of lettuce. This burger was pretty good(made with 90% lean meat), but definitely heavy on the sauce, which you may or may not like. Got a side of mashed sweet potatoes. Those were good. Veggie Burger — comes with lettuce and tomato on a whole wheat bun. The veggie burger is made with carrot, corn, edammame, and zucchini. When you look at the patty you can literally see whole pieces of these veggies in them. Some people may not like that because the ingredients in veggie burgers are usually much more finely ground. Here, you are seeing and eating chunks of the vegetables. I happen to like it(both ways, actually), but at least with this one, I know for sure I’m getting whatever they say is in there. Other than that, it tastes like a normal veggie burger. Nothing spectacular, but definitely good enough. Baked fries on the side. Would have been way better had it been warm, but even cold, it was not bad and I did eat them all. Can get organic mustard, organic ketchup, BBQ sauce and hot sauce on the side. Also got the berry smoothie, which was good. Portions are small, for obvious reasons.

Great place to get a quick meal and tasty while watching your waistline. This is one of my go-to lunch places.

I’ve never set foot in this place, but it is my default Seamless order. You get healthy food, and while it’s not quite ‘I-dream-of-this-food-at-night’, it’s enough to silence your craving for more unhealthy options. The salmon, steakhouse burger, steak frites wraps, black bean salad, and mashed sweet potatoes are all quite good in their own right.

The quality of this EK is pretty low compared to the one on 57th Street. There is always a ton of wilted, rotten lettuce in the salads and they forget ingredients, like the chicken in my Chicken, Blue Cheese, Strawberry salad today. The chicken I had to ask them to add after hunting through the salad and finding none, tastes… Off. Like it was not 100% cooked. Or like it wasn’t stored quite right. The B health grade becomes apparent. The signature egg white wrap needed a tablespoon of hot sauce to be palatable. Staff is super friendly and helpful. And I do like the smoothies, although I’d stick to the fruit ones as the ones with vanilla protein in them can taste a bit chalky. I guess if you’re tossing more than half your lunch in disgust it does cut calories…

Ordered food delivery on their website. They did not delivered it after hour and half. I called to find out what happened, they promised to deliver ASAP because of ‘computer shutdown’ 40 minutes later called to see why it was not delivered — they said that kitchen already closed and they cant give me my food. Asked for my money back. Waited for 2 hours, no food. I’m located next block.

Initially I was ambivalent about Energy Kitchen, figuring it for a crappy chain, which it is NOT. Don’t be afraid to pop into this location, although it is a bit removed from the standard mid-town fare. There’s less rush and the staff says hello with eye contact– once you’ve paid, they greet you on a first name basis. Fantastic. While I can appreciate the cutesy, packaged and convenient atmosphere and their efforts to educate the customer on caloric count for each item, I wasn’t wild about the food. It was slightly bland. I ordered a standard veggie burger(you’re allowed two FREE sides) so I chose Broccoli and baked fries. Didn’t really allow me to savor the food because the whole wheat bun was a bit dry, as was the burger. The broccoli is most likely being reheated– I think we’re all familiar with pre-packaged frozen veggies by now. Total ran me around $ 11– Yikes, kind of, considering the presentation. Feels like a cafeteria layout. There’s more to Energy Kitchen, which deserves a re-visit like smoothies, quesadillas, The Buffalo Chicken Burger(which I hear is healthier?) — there are some healthier options I’d like to try though I am wary about spending over $ 9 for a salad.

This review will be based on one visit and will be fairly short. I got the BBQ turkey burger with the bean, mango salad and homestyle potatoes. The food is decent. It’s nothing to rave about but when you’re trying to get a meal for under 500 calories… You won’t get the biggest or most delicious meal. It’s a decent meal, that’s really about portion control. It’s also a little expensive. A burger with two sides cost me 12 bucks and I was still a little hungry(but that’s probably because I’m a big fat boy). As I’m trying to be healthy, I will be going again. I just don’t know how often.

This is based on a Seamless delivery order alone. I had recently been looking for something healthy. I had heard a lot about Energy Kitchen but had never given it a try until now. Delivery was insanely fast. Seamless said it would take 45 minutes, it only took a little over 20. The food comes in a very organized manner, which is always appreciated by a messy eater like myself. I had the chicken burger with low-fat American cheese. Very good! I also put some hot sauce on top, which wasn’t «hot», but still flavorful. The whole wheat bun was also terrific. The edamame and corn salad was extremely bland, which is pretty much my only reason for deducting one star. However, the mashed sweet potatoes are something that I could seriously eat every single day. I want try out more of this menu and possibly stop inside one day.

When my friend suggested Energy Kitchen for lunch, I kind of wondered if this place would be all gimmick and no flavor. They boast meals that are under 500 calories, which appealed to me since I’m trying to watch what I eat. Energy Kitchen is kind of jammed into the corner of a building. Ironically there’s a pizza joint right next door. My friend had already ordered ahead of time online. Her order was set to go while I ordered the seared tuna salad, which itself was under 300 calories. I added on the sesame dressing for some sweetness(another 150 or so cals). I figured half the trick would be a tiny portion size so imagine my surprise when a healthy serving of mixed greens was presented to me with slivers of almonds and several slices of tuna that was nice and raw in the middle but seared out the outside crusted with sesame seeds. The fish had a surprisingly smokey flavor to it with a nice crunch. The salad greens were fresh and tasted really nice. There were definitely herbs in the mix as there was an extra punch to the salad mix I’m not accustomed to tasting. The dressing was nice too, offering just the sweetness I was looking for. It was different enough to be good, but not particularly mind blowing. The service was good and timely and you get free refills thanks to fountain drinks towards the front of the restaurant(both soda and Crystal light in three flavors). Energy Kitchen delivers on its promise of good food at a reasonable calorie load, so props to them.

I pretty much only get their Thai chicken wrap for lunch. Now, there’s nothing«Thai» about the wrap besides its mild peanut sauce. It doesn’t even have the Thai sweet chili sauce for chicken that would totally lift the flavor up a bit. So I definitely don’t think it’s an interesting or exciting wrap. Sometimes when I think back, it’s kinda bland. But I really don’t know why I keep going back for it. Something about it that really makes me want to eat it over and over again. I do enjoy it when I have it, it’s actually a very light and savory wrap with lots of crunchy carrots and cucumbers. It’s the Energy Kitchen, right?(Mildly) tasty yet heathy.

We stopped in at Energy Kitchen for a quick bite and ordered the Veggie and Turkey Burgers with sides of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Although the food was decidedly healthy, it was nothing much other than that, which was almost to be expected. The creamed spinach was strangely goopey and watery. The taste was on, but the texture was off. The potatoes were fine. As for the burgers, the bread was lightly toasted and whole grain, again… to be expected of a ‘health’ kitchen. The burgers were decent but not worth the nearly ten bucks a pop. All in all, if you’re craving a hamburger go to a diner, not energy kitchen. If you’re craving a burger and you’re on a diet, consider energy kitchen, but realize that you probably won’t leave satisfied.

Eating here reminds me of the«Non-Fat Yogurt» Seinfeld episode, where the yogurt they were eating was so tasty, they couldn’t believe it was fat-free. Similarly, every menu items at Energy Kitchen falls within 500 calories, is prepared with low fat ingredients, and all their burgers, wraps, smoothies, salads, etc. are prepared fresh to order — think«healthy fast food» that tastes like it should be bad for you(aka it tastes good!) I took advantage of their January $ 5 burgers and wraps special(normally $ 7-$ 8) and sampled several of each, Staff at this location were always friendly and patient, and knew each item inside and out. The BBQ Chicken Quesadilla and Bison Cheesesteak are two of my favorites(although the quesadilla is very saucy and the tortilla wasn’t as crisp as I had expected). The Sirloin Burger and Chicken Fajita Wrap are excellent runner-ups. You also have the option to add two sides to any entrée for an extra $ 3 for a nice, rounded out meal(keep in mind, that with the $ 5 sale, the entire platter ends up costing the same as a normal sandwich alone). Two of my favorites — the Baked Homestyle Potatoes and Black Bean & Mango Salad make for a great«starch & veggie» to add to your sandwich, but keep in mind the entrée-sized side portions are less than half the size as if you were to order them a-la-carte. If you’re dining with others, and you all share similar tastes, it’d make more sense to order your sandwiches alone and split one or two of the a-la-carte sized side orders. Having read other reviews, it looks like they seem to have some special going on just about every month — Now that February just kicked off, I’m inclined to check them out for some breakfast… Enjoy!

The food was ordinary, much like you’d find in a gazillion New York café/restaurants. Not great, but not bad either. The meal had 2 things going for it; being hot, and being consumable. Aside from that, nothing memorable. The taste sorta faded into the recesses of my memory. I order from them occasionally on Seamless Web and they are pretty reliable for a decent meal. Delivery time was quick and they’re fairly affordable.

I’ve only ever ordered food from Energy Kitchen so I can’t comment on the atmosphere and décor. Their website has an incredible ordering system so drop that mouse and extract yourself from Seemless Web. Ignoring the fact that everyone else ordered the BBQ chicken quesadilla, I went with the veggie burger with two sides. The caloric count was just right and I felt somehow redeemed by the fact that my sides involved mashed(sweet) potatoes and my entrée had the word«burger» in it. Upon arrival it was abundantly clear that I had ordered too much food. The burger was on a dry wheat bun that hadn’t seen a stick of butter in its life and had a mess of veggilicious fixin’s. I smeared mustard and ketchup over it a dug into the health pie with gusto. All that wheat and fiber and freshness filled me up before I could get more than 60% through. It wasn’t the tastiest veg burger I’ve had, but it was alright. It could have used a bit more seasoning and didn’t hold together well… slowly dissolving into mush. The side of mashed sweet potatoes was cold and tasted mostly like baby food. A few mouthfuls and I swear I gurgled a ga ga. the spinach side hit the spot, though wasn’t sure if that was meant to be quite so cold and soggy. I’d order from Energy Kitchen again, though I’d definitely go for the quesadilla. I was expecting Red Bull style wings as well and instead crashed into a heavy fiber coma and was hungry again in an hour.
