Good food, attentive service. Ragu was good. Good amount of seating, no wait. Good noise level for talking.

This place is gorgeous, affordable(for NYC) and lip-smacking delicious. I’ve been here on a number of occasions but almost always order the paccheri alla Norcina(house made sausage, porcini, fresh ricotta and crushed truffle). Holy yum. This thing tastes as good as it smells and never disappoints. I’ve had a couple of their other pastas but this one is generally my favorite. A lot of their wines by the bottle are pretty adorable, and their house red is always delicious – I’m not sure if they rotate, but it was a delicious montepulciano several times that I came here. Service can be hit or miss, as this place can get packed, but usually the servers are great at answering questions. Environment is gorgeous, lively, but still intimate for a date. Will continue to come here!

I’m a huge fan of the Paccheri alla Norcina. It’s a little pricey, at $ 18 a plate but I’m a sucker for anything truffle. It has house made sausage, porcini, fresh ricotta, and crushed TRUFFLE! You can really taste the yummy truffle in the dish. I’ve tried only one other pasta dish here before and ever since I tried the Paccheri alla Norcina, I have not wanted to try anything else. My bf and I go there about once a month, sometimes more sometimes less, and I occasionally order take out. There usually isn’t much of a wait since I go on a weekday evening and avoid the weekend crowd. There are somethings that can improve and that’s why this place is a 4 star and not a 5 star. The serving size is somewhat small and my bf is often hungry after the meal. In addition, the quality of the dishes are inconsistent. I order the Paccheri alla Norcina every time but sometimes it tastes a little off. They either don’t put enough truffle or change the recipe or there’s a different chef. And other times the portion sizes are even smaller than usual. We’ve tried various appetizers and sides however they just aren’t that special or worth getting. We’ve had the choice of three with prosciutto, spicy sopresseta, and speck. They’re quite delicious, but nothing special and quite expensive for the small portions. The prosciutto & burrata was not as good as everyone on Unilocal hyped it up to be especially for $ 17… We’ve also had the charred broccoli rabe and let’s just say it was forgettable. We also tried a few other dishes and a pizza, but again not memorable. The service is pretty much always either mediocre or terrible. We always get seated by the door even when we have a reservation. It’s cold with the doors opening and closing and it’s hard to get the attention of any of the wait staff. Trying to get the check is almost impossible. We just want to pay the bill and leave but no one is paying any attention to us :/So overall, it’s good, but there’s room to improve.

Seriously, the best gluten-free mushroom pizza I’ve ever had. It was chewy, crunchy, savory, cheesy, blarhhhhhh why are you not in front of me now. Sat in the lovely back corner booth that we had reserved earlier that day via Unilocal(thank you) and had a ton of wine and sat there for quite some time before heading to my friend’s apartment two doors down to continue the evening. Love the lighting, the buzz, and the décor — intimate and busy but not horribly loud. You can pull curtains in between tables for a bit more privacy. Really like that. Wines are a bit pricey but very good. Man, the pizza. I wish I lived closer so I could eat there more frequently. Open a location in the UWS! :)

Emporio was a perfect spot for a date night. The restaurant was quite big, front and back room. Lights were dimly light for a romantic atmosphere. The service was quite spot on, everything you’d expect from a restaurant. The food came in a timely manner. Everything my boyfriend and I ordered was very good. The Prosciutto and Burrata was a nice appetizer and paired well with any wine. The sauce on the Grilled Octopus was amazing, very refreshing and clean. My plate of pasta was a bit on the saltier side, a little lighter on the salt and that would work nicely with the mushrooms and truffle. The Berkshire Pork special of the night was excellent, tender and juicy. We can sit here all night chatting away with our glasses of wine, it was that comfortable. The backroom had a clear glass ceiling which gives the illusion of dining outdoors. They also make pizza with a wood fire oven, which should be a must-order.
