Grilled chicken was fired chicken. worse Mexican food that I had.

Absolutely terrible. Ordered steak enchilada. Food was very cold. In 4 of the enchilada there only 1 piece of steak and on top of that its super bland. You’re better off making Mexican food at home

Ordered for the first time from this place and will def be my last. The food was gross. Couldn’t even eat it. The chicken quality was not the greatest. Mostly dark meat and sat in oil and spices. Too much pepper on the chicken. Ordered the beef nachos and it came cold and the beef looked like dog food. They forgot a few of my items so had to send someone back. Also charged extra bc I wanted the chips in a separate container so they wouldn’t get soggy during delivery. Asked for a side of salsa which they charged me $ 1 for. Fine but when it came it was the size of a small plastic condiment container. Wasn’t looking for a gourmet meal but at least would like edible fresh ingredients. Wont be ordering from here again.

I gave this place 2 stars because of its location NOT because of the food! The chips were stale, the guacamole was made with who knows what, but it was not avocados. If you live Mexican food, stay far away from this place.

This food has absolutely nothing to do with actual Mexican food. It is a low quality version of Chipotle. I tossed the burrito in the trash. I spent more time writing this review than eating the food This is imitation Mexican food and does not deserve your money.

Wow! Instant fan! I had the Tex Mex burger which was ginormous and delicious! What a sexy burger. Great staff and cozy little spot with reasonable prices. I’ll be back(in my Terminator voice) lol

This was a quick easy Mexican lunch that I found one afternoon. I had the burrito bowl and found it really filling. I have also had the shrimp salad and that was good as well. It’s not the best Mexican food but it is good for the price.

I’ve eaten lunch at this place three times that includes today. The food here is not only fresh but consistent, definitely avoid going to Chipotle’s on Broadway this food here is a million times better & they have a lot of variety to choose from. I’ve had the 1) Steak Quesadilla; 2) Shrimp Chimichangas & then today 3) Mexican Chorizos Quesadilla. All of these selections are delicious & you can’t go wrong with any other choices.

The grilled chicken quesadilla is really good. I haven’t tried anything else except the chicken bowl and it was just okay. Definitly go for the quesadilla

This place is consistently great! They have expanded their menu and everything is good. I love all the salads and quesadillas! Great to order for large parties as well.

I’m a huge fan of El Toro for quick, inexpensive Mexican, especially if you’re looking to order in. The ‘restaurant’ itself is diner-esque, no frills but if you’re in the area I’d definitely pop in for a quick lunch. For my low-carb friends you can get the burrito bowl without rice and beans, just ask.

This is right next to my school so I eat here often. The vibe is fun(they’re always playing great Mexican music) and the workers are always friendly. I’ve always enjoyed what I’ve gotten except based on my last experience, I don’t recommend the tostadas! They’re stale versions of Taco Bell’s shell tacos. I actually wrote a whole post on it on my blog
(trying to find good, authentic Mexican food in NYC). Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any recommendations for killer Mexican food in NYC!

Had a steak burrito bowl and it was delicious. This will be one of my go-to spots for this area. Same price as Chipotle, just as good food(possibly better), more options. Totally satisfied. And they have mixed vegetables to add which is a plus for me.

Food is pretty good. Service is disorganized, it would help if they had a real computer system. No matter what I order if I go in I end up waiting. Delivery is better. I prefer it to overpriced Mexican though.

Juicy meats, corn tortillas, onion and cilantro make three good tacos. This is not Chipotle, it’s actual Mexican food. 10

Unexceptional fare on a quiet street squeezed between the exchange and Broadway. While the menu is more expansive than Chipotle, each individual ingredient is worse.(As someone says here in another review, «It was reminiscent of Chipotle, yet somehow cost more and was less tasty.») I came at the dinner hour, where it appeared that the couple dozen metal trays had been sitting around for several hours. This is an advantage of the Chipotle model — the somewhat limited menu means that everything rotates through quite quickly. Instead, these ingredients had the somewhat rubbery consistency of something that was cooked, cooled and then reheated. Besides chain food, GuacStar a couple blocks away is a notch or two better. Or just go to Sophie’s which is much better Cuban food two doors down.

So I really can only base this review off the tacos I get from here– and I’ve gotten every single kind. From shredded beef to fish to steak to shrimp. It’s all delicious. However, my review is also comprehensive because I pretty much get EVERYTHING on a taco. Rice, beans, guac, pico de gallo… Anything the taco can hold without falling apart. Their ingredients are really fresh & their guac & pico de gallo is really delicious. They’re my go-to if I’m craving tacos/burritos(which is quite often). That being said, I use them mostly for carry out or I order from seamless… The one time I sat in the restaurant it was kind of weird and I got the feeling that I wanted to leave soon. Not really the best eat-in place & you’ll notice not many others eat there too. Also. It’s in the financial district so expect bigwigs and some people in line. They move quick though. AND. They have a great selection of drinks(soft drinks & juice, that is)! Bottled sodas(which I’ll get just bc they’re pretty) galore.

There are four people standing in line behind the glass/counter, and your enthusiasm wavers as you walk from one to the next — for some reason you will need to encounter each of the four for your single order, which in my case still came out wrong. I wanted a shrimp and chicken burrito bowl(which is a special order, I know, so it will cost more, I know — telling me this was the full purpose of the third lady), and paid for it, but the shrimp was never around. Will finish writing this review later, because I feel terrrrrible, but just so you know, check your order with this place. I didn’t bother going back down to fix it or to complain, because same as previous sentence.
