El Rancho Burritos

This place is great! As a food connoisseur I appreciate a good mole sauce. The mole sauce with the burrito was amazing. The tacos are amazing as well, I read some reviews that states it was not authentic, but for a place on the east coast it’s pretty awesome, I had no complaints, the carnitas taco was on point. The avocado really made the difference! If in the area, swing by for a burrito.

Love it. Could order the acapulco burrito any time and always got a great hunk of filling burrito. So good with the green and red sauces. Makes for 2 meals on a normal day.
I’ve only gotten the burrito cause it works so well every time.

Wasn’t too big of a fan. The cactus burrito I got was mushy and falling apart. Chipotle is down the street, would’ve went there instead.

For a hole-​in-​the-​wall sort of Mexican take-​out place, the food is consistently great, the service friendly and speedy and the entrees consistent. My daughter looks forward to her chicken burrito every week for lunch after a class she takes down the block. Good stuff.

Good food and great pricing but for the love of the food lords can you please place the add-​on ingredients for your quesadilla in the actual quesadilla before sending it out? Making my own quesadilla is not something I want to pay to do. Other than that excellent choice of grub.

I had the burrito de carne asada (steak burrito). It’s an all over great burrito. The rice isn’t crazy flavorful but that’s just the way I like it! The meat is seasoned good to really make the burrito shine, as ofcourse it’s the main ingredient. They serve the food in these little containers perfect to take it to go. Just be sure to pair your burrito with your favorite flavor Jarrito and you’re set. Yum!

Call me a spoiled Californian, but the food here is neither authentic Mexican nor is it even good. My experience with El Rancho Burritos starts with calling and being yelled at by some lady that barely spoke English. I decided it would be best to place my order through Seamless. I ordered a simple enchilada, rice, and bean plate for $ 10.75. Yup, I definitely knew I was in NYC when I was charged that much for taqueria quality food. In CA, that would be $ 7 tops.
The food was BAD. The rice had absolutely zero flavor, pinto beans were dry and had no flavor as well, and the enchiladas… you guessed it! They had no flavor! They were however smothered in sour cream and the chicken was super dry. The red sauce was the one thing that I could tolerate. I ended up dipping everything in it.
The food did arrive quick and really hot. So I will give them that much. I think I had my standards set way high and unfortunately I was sorely disappointed. I’ll stick to the Mexican food back in my home state from now on.

This is the best authentic Mexican in lower Hell’s Kitchen for dining in or taking out. Skip over the nearby Chipotle and come here for a solidly good burrito with fresh ingredients and generous portions.
I always get the Puebla Burrito: a flour tortilla filled with stewed chicken, rice, beans and sour cream topped with mole sauce and melted cheese. Kick it up a notch with their red sauce. While the chicken is tender, it doesn’t have the most flavor of the meal. That lies with their mole sauce. This comes in at $ 9.25 after tax. It’s a mess, so be prepared to eat this with a knife and a fork (and several napkins).
Don’t forget to add chips and salsa for an additional $ 3.50!

This is the first time and the last time I will ever eat here. The food is horrible and the service is horrible. It’s very bland and had a sour-​bleachy after taste. The portions are inexcusable. $ 5 for rice and beans that were less than 8oz total. They put ALL Mexican eateries to shame. I could not finish my tiny tin of rice/​beans and my other two friends could not finish their burrito because it had that bleachy-​sour taste to it. Also, the place looks very unkempt and rundown (but I took the risk after reading a few positive reviews on here). In my opinion Taco Bell and Baja Fresh are way better and have more flavor and I don’t usually go to chains. I prefer to support «mom and pop» restaurants, which is why I tried this place. I won’t ever come back here. SOUR!!!

Alcapulco Burrito is fantastic for non-​meat eaters. I LOVE them with extra sour cream and the best guac!

I usually get the fish tacos ($ 3.50) but they’re beef tacos are good to me
Total would be $ 8.11 with a fish taco, beef taco & soda. A simple Mexican meal but affordable and decent meal
They have takeouts & deliveries 11am-​11pm daily Monday to Sunday

If you are looking for delicious and fast Mexican food, this is a great place to go.
I love their fajita especially the combo one (beef & chicken) and their jarritos. It was my first time ordering there. Besides the combo fajita I also ordered a Sangria Senoral. Surprisingly they gave me a cute little bottle opener for the drink. The opener can be used as a tape measure and flashlight… Awesome!!!

Only had one thing here– I was starving and it was a burrito. I was thoroughly satisfied with it. The cashier up front gave me a little attitude when I asked him for extra sauce/​utensils when they were on the counter behind me (i was not aware of this.)
Not a big deal though– i would definitely come back if in the area and in the mood for some mexican.

This your typical no frills restaurant. The specials are posted on the wall and you place your order at the counter. They have about four tables. I came here not expecting much but a change in scenario. But I was surprisingly satisfy and impressed with their food. I ordered the chili bomb Burrito off their wall of specials (see picture). Definitely, satisfy and warrant a future visit.

I’ve only ordered for pick-​up from here, but it’s always been to my expectations (ready in 15 – 20 minutes on average). I probably won’t ever dine-​in anyway, since the area is so small and the ambiance of the place is very «fast food» ish. I’d rather do pick-​up and eat it in the comfort of my own home.
The food is tasty and portions are generous. And with the inexpensive prices, this is easily a go-​to when you need to get a quick lunch or are just too hungry (and lazy) to make dinner.
Note that the house «hot sauce» doesn’t always taste the same though — a few times I’ve had it, it was very mild and was more like a salsa. But for the first time the other night, it was really spicy! Even if you’ve been here before, always taste test the sauce to gauge how spicy (or not) it really is.
I like how many options there are to choose from on the menu too. Every time I come here I try something different and am not disappointed.

Ordered on Seamless. Figure I’ll be waiting the usual hour or so for delivery. Nope, this guy got my order to me in 11 minutes from the time of my order confirmation to when he rang the doorbell. Insane.
Ordered the Puebla burrito and Carne Asada. Both tasty.
I don’t know how it was physically possible to make and deliver them that fast. Perhaps they premade them and kept them warm, but I don’t care either way. Will be ordering from them again when I’m in the mood for Mexican.

When you see someone waltz in and pass you, who’s stuck in a long line, go right up to the front of the line and get his food — then that’s likely me. The trick is to order by phone and ask them how long it will take them to make it.
When you have a food allergy or want something done in a particular way, it is best to fax them because their English is still somewhat rocky.
Don’t expect anything other than utilitarian seating — a tiny place like this needs to get you in and out as quickly as possible, or they have to increase prices.
But once you get the food! All the non-​vegetarian stuff (I’m exclusively a carnivore) is great, some more so than others. For me the chili bomb is a fail, just spicy with not much else. I’d never have fish in a place where there isn’t regular demand for it.
My current obsession is the chorizo burrito, with other faves the beef burrito, and the fajitas. The tacos are great, but not as good as at Tehuitzingo.
I’ve been going there about once a week since they opened as La Paloma — and am happy every time.

Our company ordered from here. Meh. I didn’t order it next time around even though the company pays for it.
I ordered the chipotle chicken salad. It wasn’t a salad with lettuce and such, it was more of a fajita style. Kind of bland. It was cold too (but that may have happened during delivery)
The chips are tasteless and even the guacamole seems off, like its watered down.
I gave 2 stars at first because it was edible but nothing great. Maybe dining in would be a different experience but I won’t order from here.
Tried it again. Cold. Slimy. Eww. Go to Chipotle. Changed to 1 star.

Wet burritos in New York! And it was goooooood. This flies in the faces of all the californyites who say there’s no good ‘Mexican’ in New York — despite burritos being arguably Mexican. My Puebla variety was covered with sour cream and mole — I feel like they heard about NY’s need for a wet burrito from Calicalites and they responded with their homestyle version.
There is seating for 16 and I don’t think it gets busy. The prices are nices and the service amounts to ordering at the counter and waiting for your order to be called. Efficiency saves on tipping.
The flavors weren’t strong enough to satisfy nerds but I was happy to find a pleasant, cheap, decent Mexican place in Hell’s Kitchen — the best seating I’ve found in the genre yet.
