I walked into the store waiting and no one even said hello or acknowledged my presence. I left the store because I had to be at work and decided I will call for delivery instead with them. I ordered eggs on a roll and orange juice. They location job to the store is four blocks and it took them an hour to arrive and that’s because I called them to find out what was going on. I liked the food but the customer service at this location is HORRIBLE.

OK so this place is in competition with El Campeon De Los Pollos on Lefferts Blvd. This is a little place so make sure you’re on the look out or you will pass it. Its across the street from a catholic school I believe. After having the bland tasting chicken from El Campeon i came across this on Unilocal and all the good reviews for the food. So we decided to try them. As i stated this is a small spot… so take-out is the way to go. They have a whole variety of food. Stews, Fried, Soups, Rice, Beans, Salads(avocado, shrimp, green salad), Sweet plantains and root veggies. WOW! So on our 1st time here of course we got the Rotisserie Chicken and some fried chicken wings and the avocado salad. The R chicken was tasty and not dry(a little small) and comes with a chimichurri sauce(not spicy) the chicken wings were seasoned very well and not greasy. OMG the avocado salad is like the one my family makes in Ecuador! With tomato, lime, onion and green pepper(we don’t put this in it). The service here is fast and cheap if you ask me. They are always busy with take-out orders but if you can make it in… do it. Their rice and beans are good too. Haven’t tried their soups yet hopefully its as good as El Campeon… We will be coming back and will be recommending this place.

This is my to go to place when I want some very tasty & fast Spanish food! Not to mention cheap! They have so many options all the time and it’s always super busy! So come ready to choose from so many choices and spend some time on line. But other than that the food is always great!

This is one of the best places to get great Spanish food for a reasonable price. My husband and I love getting the yellow rice with rotisserie chicken and beans on the side. He sometimes orders the chicken salad as well, which he loves. This place is small but their flavors are huge. For 5 $ you can get a pretty filling meal and they offer family sized deals as well. You won’t regret coming here!

Castillo De Pollo translated in English means Castle of Chicken. Delicious meals are prepared for The Queen of Queens here. A fellow Unilocaler highly recommended Castillo and this has been my go to for delivery dining in the Jamaica area. The quality of the Food at Castillo is great for the cost. For $ 18 I ordered the boneless fried chicken(chicharrones de Pollo sin huesos), Rice and beans, avocado salad and Empanadas. For the family size quantity you receive(feeds 5), the quality is unmatched. I really appreciate that they do not drown their food in salt or Sazon. Everything is flavorful and seasoned perfectly. The Empanadas are standard and could benefit from some extra seasoning. They offer seasoned chicken and beef with onions and peppers for taste. This is not Mama’s Empanadas but you can expect a crisp, moist and tasty empanada. The Boneless fried chicken is delicious. Also simply seasoned and not greasy. The Avocado salad is a staple to finish off your meal. The Delivery and customer service here can be hit or miss. The estimated time of delivery can reach up to about 1 Hour and 15 minutes. Atleast that reassures me my food is hot and freshly prepped. The delivery men may not speak clear English so… have a Spanish dictionary available or step up your Rosetta Stone game.

This is one of my favorite Spanish restaurants however today I was beyond furious with the way that the driver spoke to me on 1÷24÷16 at 1:04pm. I waited over two hours to receive my delivery. I wasn’t the least bit surprised with their turn around time because I know that good food shouldn’t be rushed. Besides I’m used to their crazy delivery times. I placed my delivery at 11:13am and called back to check how long it’ll take at 12:45pm. I was told it’s on the way. At 1:04pm I received a phone call that my food is outside. I told him exactly where I was and that I’m not coming outside to pick up my food when I specifically asked for the«delivery» option. The guy goes off on me. He says, «There’s snow everywhere. I understand you’re inside, but you’ll have to come get your food. We all have to get along and work together.» My one and only response was, «Why do you have an attitude?!» He claims he didn’t have one. I hung up on him, got dressed, wrapped my wet hair in a towel and went outside. At this point I’m ready to confront the delivery guy and speak my peace. I’m sure the little boy that was standing awkwardly with my food in his hand was afraid I was going to go off. To say I am vexed is an understatement. I asked him what was the attitude about? He said it wasn’t him but it was his father. I asked him what snow was in the way that he couldn’t come around the corner approximately less than a foot to bring me my food. He said they’re not obligated to go to the door. I simply told him that’s a lie and what would be the point in delivering my food if I have to come outside?! As you all may know, there was no tip given besides telling him that his father needs to man up and handle his own dirty work. I also called and spoke to the manager to complain about that low life. From 4 stars to 1, what a damn shame!!!

Prices are reasonable, however the food is typical. For dinner I would order the combo 6. Which comes with a whole chicken, rice, beans, plantains, steak, and a salad with a soda. The food is plentiful and for only $ 26 will feed 4 people. Sometimes the wait for delivery is way too long though! :(But I would recommend if you’re craving Spanish food and this is in the area.

Wowwwww! This is gem. Had the steak and onions whole chicken, yellow rice and beans and a salad for the family. Everything was really good. Huge portions and great prices. My bill came out to 20. I’m going to be a regular. Unilocalers were spot on with this spot!

Best Spanish food ever in my opinion. I love their pork and their yellow rice and peas. Also, I love their chicken and fish and the Greene salad, so good. I order from them all the time, I somehow never get tired of it.

The food here is excellent! Such delicious, good quality food for next to nothing. Their delivery is quick and friendly. The restaurant itself is tiny with a couple tables inside– not a sit down for dinner kind of place; more of an order in for dinner kind of place. Their tea and coffee are always made exactly how you want it. They’re close to my house, so always a tasty option when I don’t want to cook. Yum!!!

For a hole in the wall joint, the food is awesome. Does that even surprise you? Some of the best food in NYC comes from nondescript establishments. Located on a normal street in a neighborhood you would never expect such value or variety. Oh yes and did I mention it tastes awesome? For $ 5 you get a heaping dish or rice and a choice of meat, it is more than filling for a quick on the go meal. If you are really hungry go for a bigger dish the«medium» for around $ 8. I have never ordered a large, the large would be a family size in my opinion. You must try the avocado salad or not, in fact better you don’t try it, that way I can buy it all when I go(it’s usually all gone by dinner time). It’s family run, and they take very good care of all of their customers. There are only like 2 – 3 tables in there so it’s not a sit down sort of place, however, I have sat on occasion because I simply was just that hungry.

A great Latin/American take-out restaurant with a handful of tables inside; yes, I meant Latin/American not Latin-American. This restaurant serves a mix of Latin dishes and American one’s like Macaroni and Cheese. I opted for a plate with paella and avocado salad. Both were fresh and extremely flavorful. The avocado salad had tomatoes, peppers, onions, and some nice lime juice which made for a nice natural dressing once tossed. The paella was delicious! It was super flavorful and paired nicely with the avocado salad. I would absolutely recommend el Castillo for takeout!

We went to check out this new business near the house before Christmas. Ordered a «Cuban sandwich», although not the real thing it was good nonetheless. The ample food behind the counter looked very nicely cookked. We went back a few days later and ordered one of the combos(chicken) and another small order of roast pork and boiled plantains. The food was well prepared and seasoned. Good spot needed in the neighborhood.,
